LCTS Sketch 126 Reveal

I'm a little late with this post, but better late than never! J.J. Sobey created an awesome sketch for us to work with this month (see the sketch here) over at Let's Capture these Sketches. Here's my take on her sketch:
At our house, we call empty boxes Cat Traps. Anyone who has a cat knows that if you put a box on the floor, a cat will come jump in it! Our kitty Daisy does not disappoint.

I used Three Bugs in a Rug's new Frisky line. It's such a fun line with tons of great stickers!
I fussy cut the fish and kitty from a couple of the patterned papers and the banner pennants came as part of the punch out sheet.
And no layout is truly complete without a Whimsy Button! My new favorites are the chevrons!
I'll be back next week with a peek at the next layout for the Layout Workshop at Right at Home. In the meantime, make sure to stop by the Let's Capture These Sketches blog an see all of the gorgeous layouts the ladies created!

The Twinery and Nikki Sivils Product Showcase

Kathy here, and welcome to my leg of the product showcase featuring:

and
I had a lot of fun playing with my goodies from Nikki Sivils! I was sent the Exit Here kit, which was full of great colors and patterns! This line is perfect for travel and vacation photos! Here's how I combined it with some twine from The Twinery.

This is one of my all time favorite pictures! It's my daughter in the side mirror of the Mustang convertible we rented in the Florida Keys last year. It made for a very fun ride to Key West!

I created a twine sun using some Buttercream twine that I adhered to a sun die-cut, and I outlined my clouds with some Shore Twine to make them pop a bit.

To accent my photo, I created a "frame" using some Maraschino twine... the colors matched the Exit Here papers perfectly!
This was a very fun product mix! How would you like to win a Twinery Twine sampler pack?

It's easy to be eligible for this prize and another great prize from Nikki Sivils! All you have to do is visit the blogs of each designer participating in this product showcase and leave a comment. You'll also need to visit and comment on both the Twinery Blog and the Nikki Sivils Blog. A complete list of all the participants can be found on either of these blogs! Good luck and thanks for visiting!

Hunting Eggs

Every year my neighborhood has an egg hunt for all the kiddos, it's really a fun morning. When I got Jillibean's new Southern Chicken Dumpling Soup from Lisa at Right at Home Scrapbooking, I knew it would be a perfect combination!
I framed my photos with a little twine to make them pop a bit.

The butterflies were made using Jillibean's corrugated butterflies. I layered them with some of the patterned papers then created a butterfly body by wrapping a piece of toothpick with twine.

To complete the look I created swirls with twine so that the butterflies looked like they were moving. Make sure to check back tomorrow, I'm part of a product showcase with The Twinery and Nikki Sivils... there will be prizes!

Girl Time

I had a very fun weekend cropping for the weekend with some wonderful friends a couple of weeks ago, and I even managed to be productive! One of the layouts I was able to complete was this one for Right at Home Scrapbooking, featuring Imaginisce's Sole Sisters.
The color challenge was to use Kraft in your layout (a real stretch for me...not) in honor of National Craft Month....get it???

I did a lot of "fussy cutting" on this layout...first the purses were cut from the "Purse-onality" paper and the flowers on my banner were cut from the "I Pick You" paper.
I created a mixed banner using many of the banner MFT dies available to give it a fun twist. Finally I stitched in black to coordinate with the doodley look of the flowers. I'll be back later this week with some more layouts, including the newest reveal from Let's Capture These Sketches.

Scrapbook and Cards Today Spring Issue

So excited to finally share this layout. I created it using a Becky Fleck Sketch for the spring issue of Scrapbooks and Cards Today which is now shipping! It's on page 45 (not that I have that memorized....) Still doing a happy dance!

I LOVE these photos... they were from a girls tea party held in my neighborhood last summer. The girlies looked so cute all dressed up!

I used some Bella Blvd. Sophisticates and Family Dynamix papers that I got in my take-home kit from the Layout Workshop at Right at Home Scrapbooking. They were the perfect colors for my theme. And of course... my Whimsy birdie had to be included!

I'll be back soon with some layouts I created at my girls crop last weekend!

Just a quick post to show you the layout I created using the take-home kit from the Layout Workshop at Right at Home.
I "scraplifted" this layout from Nicole Nowosad. She's a favorite scrapper of mine, you can see her original layout here. I used Lily Bee's Memorandum papers and a ton of MFT Die namics.

I LOVE how the yellows match Rosie's eyes! Well I'm off to a weekend of scrapping with some very good friends! I'll be back next week with the latest reveal from Let's Capture these sketches !

It's time for a peek at the layout we'll be creating at this Friday's Layout Workshop at Right at Home Scrapbooking. We'll be playing with some Bo bunny Ad lib papers and some liquid pearls.... here's a peek...

I love the colors in this line, so bright and cheery. I added some punched circle flowers...I thought they coordinated well with the patterns in the papers.
I also added some perfect pearls to the dots on the background for a little sparkle and shine!

If you're interested in joining the layout workshop, give the ladies at Right at Home Scrapbooking a call to reserve your spot!

Phew.... I did it!

I've officially broken any kind of layout record I've ever set. Fueled only on caffeine, I finished the last two entries for the Bella Blvd. Challenges... in 3 hours! Considering a layout can take me days to complete, I'm very impressed with myself.
The first layout challenge (day 4 seen here) was to use the Border Strip Papers in your layout. I created a layout using the Border Strips from Making the Team as a background for my picture. Here it is.
I love this picture, it's of my daughter and her good friend & teammate showing off their "bling" from the last gymnastics competition...they both did very well!
The border strips made the perfect background! They also made great embellishments as stars and banner pieces.
Finally, Challenge day 5 was to use good old punched circles on your layout. I decided to use different sized circles as a border, using Christmas Wishes collection.
This my naughty kitty Daisy. She firmly believes that all parts of the tree, the trimmings and the presents are put out for her pleasure. Many times I've looked up and seen two green eyes staring out at me from halfway up the tree.
I lined the circles up and ran a stitch through them to look like garland.
I can't believe I did it! Now, if I can only win the big box of Bella Blvd. Goodies!!! I'll be back tomorrow with the latest reveal from Let's Capture these Sketches .

MFT Fan Club Peek

I finally finished the layout for this Saturday's MFT Fan club over at Right at Home Scrapbooking. Here's a peek.
I got to play with some My Mind's Eye Fine and Dandy papers... so springy! It's helping me keep my head up during this SNOW!
The pictures are from a couple of years ago when all the neighborhood kids got together in a friend's yard to use the zip line. None of them cared how muddy it was!
That's all for today... I'll be back tomorrow with another Let's Capture These Sketches reveal!
