Paper Issues: You're Sew Cute, Keep Me in Stitches Issue

Hi Everyone!  There's a new issue at Paper Issues today.... You're Sew Cute, Keep Me in Stitches sponsored by May Arts !  Ideas for this issue include any project with stitching, floss, thread, twine, ribbon, fabric, anything that says cute to you, use buttons, sewing machine, babies, jokes, anything that makes you laugh, funny things kids say, or any project that uses May Arts products.  Here's what I created using some gorgeous 1.5" Celery Chevron Ribbon sent to me by May arts!

I used the ribbon to weave a can-sized vase.

This is the inside...The bottom is simply a piece of chipboard.  From there, I wove the ribbon, and held it together with some hot glue.

To fill my vase I created a bunch of fall flowers using some Doodlebug Design Friendly Forest papers and a Sunflower Silhouette cut file from Jamie Cripps.

Would you like to win four rolls of May Arts Ribbon???  Make sure to link up your "You're Sew Cute, You Keep Me in Stitches" projects here.  Please make sure to link back to Paper Issues as well.  Your project may also be featured on Paper Issues Facebook or Instagram!  Also, be sure to stop by the Paper Issues Blog to check out all of the Design Team's You're Sew Cute creations!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by!

New Flair from Toni From Designs!!!

Hi Everyone!  Today I have a fun post featuring the new flair from Toni From Designs!  I design with Toni over at Paper Issues and was THRILLED when she asked if I would showcase some of her new flair!  I chose the Back to School Set to use on my layout of my daughter's first day of Junior Year.  Take a peek:

In addition to Toni's Flair, I used Lawn Fawn's Sweater Weather, Lawn Fawn Dies & Stamps, and some tags from Elle's Studio & Chic Tags.  I also used some of Doodlebug's new mini paperclips and gold stars from Studio Calico.  I love how it all came together color-wise!  Here are some close-ups of the flair pieces...

I had such a fun time with this one!

And here's the whole Back to School Flair Set...

You should definitely check out Toni's new shop over at Etsy. (here)  She's going to be releasing new flair every Monday!!!  You can check out these releases on all of her social media outlets including her blog, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest & Facebook!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by!

Right at Home Scrapbooking: Fall Banner

Hi Everyone, today I have a fun fall banner that I created for Right at Home Scrapbooking using some Simple Stories Sweater Weather!

I started my with some files I purchased in the Silhouette Store to create the layered banner pieces.  I then added some leaves and the letters, popping them up with some foam tape for dimension.  (both cut files from Lori Whitlock)  I fell in love with the little critters & shapes in the Die Cut pack from the Sweater Weather collection and had to add a few of those as well!  Here are some close ups of the letters...

That's it for me today!  Thanks for stopping by!

Paper Issues: Anything Goes

Hi Everyone, I have a fun card today that I created for the Paper Issues, Anything Goes Issue.  I know it's a little early for Halloween (unless you're in the grocery store, then you're right on time...) but I couldn't resist playing with my new Lawn Fawn Spooktacular Stamps, and as the name implies...Anything Goes!

I used the paper piecing technique on some Doodlebug Design Ghouls & Goodies papers to create my pumpkin, moon, stars & kitty.  In addition to the Spooktacular stamps, I also used Lawn Fawn's stitched Journaling Card, Sweater Weather Dies & Spring Showers dies.

And no card would be complete without a punny sentiment!  Make sure to link up your projects to the Anything Goes Issue... you could win a prize pack from our sponsor Whisker Graphics!  That's it for today, thanks for stopping by!

Doodlebug Designs: Another Happy Camper Layout & a Free Cut File!

I'm back today with my second Doodlebug Design Happy Camper layout.  As I mentioned, I truly am not a camper, but in my younger years, we camped as a family all the time!  I remember many a trip to Maine or Canada!  We still have a lot of those pictures, many of which have us wearing trash bags (since it was sure to rain, and we always forgot rain gear!) but I did find some fun pictures to scrap!
We often camped with the same family...and one of our favorite places was Bunganut Lake in Alfred, ME.  We always made a point of getting some fabulous Maine lobsters for dinner!  Here I am (circa 1974) enjoying the lobsters, and later some S'mores!

Again, I used the Icon Stickers and some Doodlepops to create small scenes. Now for a freebie!!  I created a Silhouette file for the grid and "torn boxes" in my layout and I'd love to share it with you.  You can download the file here. I hope you enjoy it!!  That's it for me today.  Make sure to keep stopping by the Doodlebug blog to check out all of the Happy Camper inspiration from the team!  Thanks for stopping by!

Doodlebug Designs: Happy Camper Layout

Hi Everyone, today I have one of the layouts I created using the new Doodlebug Design Happy Camper collection.  I'm not a big camper, but Happy Camper can be used to scrap all sorts of outdoor activities!

This is me!! My grandmother lived on a pond and I used to love to take my Pocket Fisherman down to the water to catch some of the little fish! (yes, I've just dated myself...)

Happy Camper has some AWESOME Icon Stickers...it made it easy to create little "scenes."

I also fell in love with the Fishies Doodlepops....and had to use them!!!  I made them "swim" on the Babbling Brook Double Sided Cardstock, and gave them some "bubbles" using the sparkly Fall Sprinkles!

Make sure to stop by the Doodlebug blog to see more Happy Camper Inspiration and to find out how you can win some for yourself!  That's it for me today, I'll be back tomorrow with my second Happy Camper Layout & a free cutfile!!

Doodlebug Designs: Ghouls & Goodies Mini Album

Hi Everyone, today I have a fun mini I created for Doodlebug Designs using the new Ghouls & Goodies Collection.  I LOVE Halloween... I love seeing all of the neighborhood kiddos in their costumes, and of course, there is the candy...  Unfortunately my daughter has reached the age where she doesn't Trick or Treat anymore!!!  (sniff...) soooo... I dug out 15 years of pictures to create a mini that shows her in her costumes throughout those years!

The album is made up of pages from Lori Whitlock's Build a Mini Album files.  For my title, I used the new Doodlebug Chippers and some totally adorable Doodlepops!  Each page showcases a different year's costume!

I LOVE the Halloween Treats Sprinkles Shapes!!  And the new Mini Paperclips are fun to use!

I decided to add Sprinkles Vellum in between some of my pages.  Mostly I left them plain, but I couldn't resist adding the Spider from the Diecuts Craft Kit to the one below...even better is that he is double sided so it looks like he's peeking through the next page!  Only Doodlebug could make a spider cute!  Also, if you didn't know, the new Halloween Sprinkles are sparkly!!!

I think I used just about all of the Doodlepops from this collection...they were too cute to resist!

The new Washi tapes are great too...I wanted them to show a bit more on my pages, so I first put them on white cardstock and cut them out so they stand out.

I think I used just about everything in the making of this mini!! There was no sticker sheet or embellishment left untouched!  The great thing about this collection is that it works for all sorts of costumes...cute, scary, bright colors or black...it all coordinates well!  Well, that's it for today, be sure to check out the Doodlebug Blog to see all of the Halloween inspiration! Thanks for stopping by!

Right at Home Scrapbooking: Fall Subway Art

Hi Everyone, I have a fun fall-themed subway art project that I created for Right at Home Scrapbooking.

This was created using Lori Whitlock's Autumn Leaves Silhouette file, and some fun goodies from Simple Stories new Sweater Weather collection.  I first cut the file from my background paper, and backed the empty letters with some cardstock.

Next, I re cut a couple of the words from the Sweater Weather patterned papers, and popped them up over the original letters using some foam tape for a bit of dimension.

I finished off the frame with some Gold Shimmer twine from The Twinery and a few more leaves that I cut from the Sweater Weather papers.  It all went together pretty quickly and is perfect for fall decorating!  That's it for me today, I'll be back tomorrow with a fun mini album I created for Doodlebug Design using the new Ghouls & Goodies!  Thanks for stopping by.

A Trip to Doodlebug Designs!!! (photo heavy)

I have a different kind of blog post today...no projects , but a fun photo tour of my recent trip to Doodlebug Designs in Salt Lake City!!!  I was so excited to go to the first ever Doodlebug Design Team Retreat!  We were spoiled beyond description the entire weekend!  Take a peek!!

We started off at Doodlebug Headquarters for a meet & greet.  As you can see we were welcomed in a big way!

Each attendee had a box of goodies waiting for them!

Here's a close-up of our goody boxes!

The design room has anything and everything you could want to be crafty!!! Fun Fact:  all of the rooms at the warehouse are painted in Doodlebug Colors!!!

and lets not forget the snacks....

After saying hello to everyone, we took a tour of the facilities...this is the lobby, painted in Limeade of course...

and check out the couch and pillows...so colorful!  The little Ghouls from the Ghouls and Goodies collection were too cute!...Next onto the Showroom...it was chock full of all things Doodlebug!  I spent a LOT of time here!

and the actual warehouse...

After the tour, we all jumped into a couple of cars and went to the cutest shopping area called Gardner Village.  We walked around the different shops and picked up a few goodies!

After shopping, Cynthea treated us all to Benihana for dinner!

Saturday started off fabulously with a fun breakfast parfait bar full of fresh fruit & yogurt.

Here is my new friend Charlotte who came along with her mom Courtney...sweetest baby EVER!  She smiled like this all weekend!  Almost makes me want another...almost....

We spent the rest of the day working on some fabulous projects that some of the local girls had put together,  After a morning full of crafting, we had a fabulous lunch which ended with these awesome Macaroons...in Doodlebug colors of course!

Back to crafting for the afternoon...and after a fun dinner out at Café Rio we came back to a fun and delicious chocolate fountain!

Are you catching onto the theme....crafting, eating, laughing repeat!  After a VERY late night of crafting Saturday we were treated to the most delicious brunch catered by Chef Andrew from Bubble and Brown Bakery!  The French toast was simply divine!  I tried to talk him into moving to Boston!

The rest of the day was spent finishing up our projects...and of course we had to take pictures of them all!!!  Here we all are in the lobby showing off our Christmas frames designed by Cynthea.

We also created some fun cards designed by Wendy Sue featuring Happy Camper, and an adorable mini album designed by Tya featuring Friendly Fall...can't show you close-ups, but you just might see them on the Doodlebug Blog this month!

Lori designed these FABULOUS pillows for us to create...we each got to pick our own saying and used some Iron-on vinyl to put them on our pillows!

 and predictably.....

Our last project was this fun painting project designed by Tonya.  We painted these adorable wood signs provided by The Wood Connection.

The day wrapped up and most of the ladies headed home.  Mendi and I weren't scheduled to fly out until Monday evening, so Cynthea picked us up at our hotel and took us out to a fabulous dinner in the mountains!

Finally, to top off an already amazing weekend, Mendi and I met up with these fun ladies from Lori Whitlock for lunch the next day!!! It was so fun to meet everyone!!
