Doodlebug Design | Spring Note Card Set

Today it seems that all communication is done electronically.  We rely on text, email and social media messages, forgetting how much it means to others when we send a little hand-written note or card, and how much we enjoy receiving them!  I thought it would be fun to create a little set of note cards in a box to give as a gift.  This would make a great present for a mom, friend or teacher...take a peek...

I used a few of  the new Doodlebug Stamp Sets to create the cards.  I kept them pretty simple... just a small 3x3 card with an image and a sweet sentiment, backed with papers from the Simply Spring and Hoppy Easter 6x6 pads.  I even made little coordinating envelopes from the 12 x 12 coordinating papers.  Here are some close-ups of the cards...

To house them I created a little box using Silhouette Model Maker.  I decorated it with some of the flowers from the Garden Flowers Craft Kit, the Spring Fling Odds & Ends and a cute little butterfly from the Little Critters Shaped Sprinkles.

The cards and envelopes fit perfectly!

If you would like to make a set for yourself, I have the Silhouette files for the box and envelope on my blog here.  If you do use the files, be sure to tag Doodlebug on social media, we'd love to see what you make!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

Doodlebug Design | Hoppy Easter Cut Files

Have you seen the new Hoppy Easter Cut files available in the Lori Whitlock SVG Shop the Silhouette Store?  I can describe them in two words... cuteness overload! The bunnies, the chicks... absolutely adorable!  I decided to design some box cards with the files so that they can be displayed as decor as well!  Take a peek...

I started with the sweet little Hoppy Easter - Bunny 3 file.  I love how he is peeking out from the flower pot!  I used a combination of Hoppy Easter Papers and Dot Stripe Petite Prints to piece him together.  To complete the card I added some Glitter Sprinkles and the Hoppy Easter Odds & Ends banner piece.

For my next card I used the Hoppy Easter Basket of Flowers file.  I think this is one of my absolute favorites!  I combined papers from Hoppy Easter, Simply Spring and some more Dot Stripe Petite prints to make it, and finished it with some sprinkles and the Easter tag from the Odds & Ends pieces.  I think this would also make a nice card for Mother's Day!

For my last card I used the sweet little chicky from the Hoppy Easter Chick in Eggs File.  I made a full egg for the back drop to make him look like he's just hatching and finished him with some flowers and speech bubble from the Odds & Ends pack.

Have you created any projects using the Hoppy Easter Collection or Cut files?  We would love to see what you made, so be sure to tag Doodlebug Design on Facebook (@Doodlebug Design) and Instagram(@doodlebugdesign).  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

Lori Whitlock | Easter Egg Diorama

I have a tutorial on the Lori Whitlock Blog today showing how to assemble this adorable little Easter Egg Diorama (SVG, Silhouette)  It's such a cute little decoration and reminds me of those sugary eggs with their cute little spring scenes!  Take a peek...

I used papers from Doodlebug's Simply Spring and Hoppy Easter collections to piece it together.  The little bunny is from the Hoppy Easter Odds & Ends.  I used it in place of the bunny that came with the file.

For full assembly details head over to Lori's blog here.  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek.

Doodlebug Design | Happy Birthday Sweet Lady!

Yesterday, the Doodlebug Design DT got together to wish Cynthea Sandoval, the owner of Doodlebug, a very happy birthday!  We made cards, and posted one an hour on the Doodlebug Blog. I made this card for Cynthea , I just love the little ladybug!

I created this fun shaped card using a couple of different cut files from Doodlebug's Simply Spring Collection, including the Simply Spring Fence (SVG, Silhouette)  and the Simply Spring Ladybug (SVG, Silhouette).  (for a tutorial on how to make a shaped card in Silhouette, see my post, here) The sentiment was created using the print and cut function of my Silhouette.  The papers are from a combination of Doodlebug's Simply Spring, Hoppy Easter and Petite Prints collections.  And of course I had to add some sprinkles and a few of the Simply Spring May Flowers Sprinkles!  Head over to the Doodlebug Blog to see all of the cards that were created, there's tons of colorful inspiration!

Doodlebug Design | Hoppy Easter Stamps

It's no April Fool's joke...Spring is finally here!  I'm so excited for sunshine, warmer weather and Easter!  To celebrate I made a trio of sweet cards using the new Hoppy Easter Stamps and 6x6 Pad.  Take a peek...

The little critters in this stamp set are totally adorable!  I started with the little lamb.  I layered papers on the front with foam tape in between the layers to give it some dimension.    The sun is from the So Much Pun Far Out Set and the Cloud is from the Lots O' Luck Rainbows and Unicorns set.

I couldn't decide which bunny I liked the most so I decided to use all three of the bunnies from the set for my next card.  To make the bunnies seem brighter white, I outlined them with a Cool Gray Copic Marker (C00)... I like to do this with white images, it makes them appear a bit more dimensional and makes them pop a bit more.

My last card features the sweet little chickie.  I love that he's in a half egg... it's too cute.  I kept this card simple, just a couple of mats using the 6x6 pad.

There are a number of other cute images in this set including an Easter basket and jelly beans!  I can't wait to play with them all!  Have you made any cards or projects using Doodlebug's new stamps?  Be sure to tag Doodlebug Design on Facebook (@Doodlebug Design) and Instagram (@doodlebugdesign).  We would love to see what you've created!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!
