Doodlebug Designs: UR My Type!!

Hi Everyone, I have another project on the Doodlebug Blog today using the adorable Sweetheart Collection.  My husband is constantly saying that future generations will not know I existed by looking at my scrapbooks...so my resolution this year is to "be in the picture!!"  This is a selfie my husband and I took last spring on a trip to Key West to celebrate our 20th Anniversary.

I wanted to add some dimension to my layout so I die - cut some hearts from my background paper using my Silhouette,  and backed the open spaces with various papers from the Sweetheart line.  I used some foam tape to give the hearts more depth.  I then added more hearts on the top layer and popped them up as well.

I LOVE the little typewriter, it's so cute!  It was actually the inspiration for my title. I added the little heart sticker with some foam tape for fun!

Make sure to check out all the Valentine's inspiration on the Doodlebug Blog.  That's all for today, thanks for stopping by to look!

A Rare 2-Pager

Hi Everyone...hope you're all keeping warm these days!  We haven't been able to get over freezing here in weeks!  Makes me long for palm trees and umbrella drinks!  I wanted to share a rare 2-page layout I created recently as part of a class for Right At Home Scrapbooking.  The class is called "It's a Plan."  We're playing along with the sketches and ideas in the Scrapbook & Cards Today 2014 Sketch Calendar.  Every month we'll put together a fun layout using sketches from the Planner.  In addition, there will be either a coordinating 2-page layout or another 2 single page layouts to complete in class.  Here's the 2-pager I created for January's class:

I used Echo Park's Keeping Cozy collection to highlight some fun sledding pictures from a few years back.  This layout was based on a recent sketch by Becky Fleck posted on the SCT Blog (here).

That's it for me today...I'll be back next week with my second reveal for Doodlebug Designs Sweetheart collection.  Thanks for stopping by!

Creative Scrappers Sketch 260

Hi Everyone, I'm back today with the reveal of Sketch 260 for Creative Scrappers.  Here's the sketch:

And here's my take on the sketch...it was a fun one to work with.  I turned it upside-down for my layout.

I love this picture...it's my daughter and friends at our neighborhood's annual New Year's Eve party.  They were having a fun time with the glasses I made for them.  I used Elle's Studio Penelope collection...the colors are so fun and cheery.  I also thought the tags were perfect for this silly-girl picture!

I added some flair from my friend Martha over at PandaEight on Etsy...she has the best flair!!  Make sure to check out her shop!   We'd love for you to play along with Creative Scrappers!  Link up your take on this sketch by January 31st and you'll be eligible to win a great prize from My Creative Scrapbook.  You might also be featured on the Creative Scrapper's blog in one of our Wednesday sketch features!  I can't wait to see what you create!  Thanks for stopping by today...I'll be back tomorrow with a new Issue from Paper Issues.

Some Odd Girl Stamps

I was very excited to get to do some CHA samples for Kristy Dalman, owner of Some Odd Girl Stamps...it definitely was a first for me!!  She sent me her On Safari set of stamps....with very cute jungle animals and sayings.  They reminded me of those little Valentines you used to get in grade school... ie the monkey saying I'm banana's for you...you remember!  They inspired me to create some Valentine's Day themed goodies...

All of the papers and embellies are from Doodlebug's new Sweetheart collection...I'm a bit addicted to this line...it's too cute!!  The first treat bag uses the same Doodlebug bags I posted in my project yesterday.  The little giraffe is colored using some Wink of Stella Markers...Love the sparkle they add!

My second project was a little pillow box treat holder I decorated with a Doodlebug doily, and some papers and twine...I love the little elephant!!

My last project is a treat purse I created from a Lori Whitlock cut file I found in the Silhouette store.  I put a little cellophane in the window, and it's perfect for some Kisses or M & Ms.  I finger-crocheted the handle.  The lion is so cute...the "you're great" also comes from the stamp set and the be mine is a sticker from the Sweetheart collection.  I made the flags using some Doodlebug Pixies.

Make sure to stop by the Some Odd Girl blog to check out all of the cute projects from CHA...and the new stamp sets!!  Thanks for stopping by!

Doodlebug Designs: Countdown to Valentine's Day

Hi Everyone,  I've got my first project up on the Doodlebug blog today!!  I created this Valentine's countdown calendar using the new Sweetheart collection.   I originally purchased this frame to create an Advent calendar, unfortunately I didn't have the time to finish the project before the season.  Instead of waiting a whole year, I decided to make a Valentine themed one!

Since I was only working with 14 days as opposed to 24...I didn't need to use all the space in the frame.    I decided to create a little banner "title" using banner shapes I die-cut, some great Sweetheart papers and stickers and some Sweetheart Twine.

The Treat Bags were the perfect base for my project, and the perfect size for a little treat. For the rest of the project I just decorated and numbered each bag with lots of little goodies from the Sweetheart Collection!

It's all filled and ready to go!  Thanks for stopping by today and make sure to keep checking the Doodlebug blog for more Valentine's Day inspiration!

Using some Left-overs

Hi Everyone...just a quick post today to show you a project I created using some of the left-over goodies I had from the Paper Issues/Chic Tags Happy Place Issue.  Chic Tags sent us a huge amount of goodies to work with on this issue, and I couldn't let it go to waste!  Here's what I came up with:

I've been dying to scrap this picture of my daughter from the first day of school...just hadn't gotten to it yet!  Instead of a page, I decided to create a shadow box frame using a Lori Whitlock file from the Silhouette Store.

I made the shadow box from some Limba paper I got in the Paper Issues Store...If you've never seen it...it's awesome.  It has a great wood grain texture and it's really heavy and thick.

To decorate the shadow box, I first covered the front and inside with the Science Lab paper from ChicTags's School House Collection.  I then added a bunch of tags from both the School House and Happy Place collections.

I fussy-cut the 10 from the Arithmetic Paper and used the "Proud Nerd" Rub-on to embellish it.

Some more tags and a fun badge from Evalicious to finish it off.  Love how this turned out!  Thanks for stopping by... I'll be back next week with a bunch of new projects!

Creative Scrappers Sketch #259

Hi Everyone, Happy New Year!!  It's been a while since I posted...took some time off over the holiday to recharge!  I'm thrilled to be back today with a reveal for Creative Scrappers!  So happy to be back with Kristine and the group!  I got to work with this FUN sketch...sketch 259...

And here's my take...some fun pics of my two trouble makers under the Christmas Tree!

I got a big box of Heidi Swapp Believe goodies from Scrapbook & Cards Today as a thank you for submitting to their winter issue.  I couldn't wait to play!

I added a little sparkle with some gold POW glitter paper and some gold star sequins both from the Paper Issues Shop.

I was VERY excited to find the Believe Ephemera pack in my box....I know it was sold out everywhere!  It was chock full of fun goodies like the insta frame, arrow and the Christmas transparency.

Such a fun layout to create!  We'd love to see your take on Sketch #259!  Link up your layouts and you could win the January kit from My Creative Scrapbook

You have until the 31st of January at midnight EST to link up!  Make sure to check out all of the wonderful layouts from the Creative Scrappers DT!  Thanks for stopping by today!
