Doodlebug Design: Chunky Twine

Hi Everyone! Today I have a fun little project featuring Doodlebug's fabulous Chunky Twine!  I've done a lot of projects with regular baker's twine and I'm just in love with the width of the Chunky Twine!  It's so easy to work with and it gives projects an extra special touch.  Here's what I created:

May and June are full of birthdays and other special days in our family, so I made this fun little gift set using papers from the Spring Garden and Bunnyville collections and some Cupcake, Bubblegum, Limeade and Swimming Pool Chunky Twine!  I used a flower loom that I've had for decades to create the flowers (I'm showing my age)  The purse and card are cut files from Lori Whitlock.  Here are some close ups...

The purse is the perfect size for a little gift or gift card.  I held it closed with a little Velcro.  The leaves are from the Spring Garden Icons Sticker Sheet.

The flowers make me so happy, and I hope the recipient feels the same way!  That's it for me today, be sure to keep checking the blog for more Chunky Twine inspiration!

Paper Issues: Save the Drama for Your Mama Issue

Hi Everyone!  It's time for the second round of the Paper Issues Issue:  Save the Drama for Your Mama!  The challenge is to create a layout with any of the following:
  • a large, dramatic element on your page like a title, embellishment or photo;
  • create a layout about your mom (or someone who's like a mom) and the things she says, the lessons she's taught you, how you're alike or how you're different;
  • create a layout about Mother’s Day;
  •  use the new PI llama card;
  • create a project about a stage show, your favorite TV drama, a musical, etc.
I created a layout featuring some pictures from the Musical at our High School this year, Bye Bye Birdie.  The kids did a fabulous job!  This was my daughter's first time doing the Musical and she had a blast!  On the day of the last show, the whole cast and crew took some time to pose for pictures.

I used Elle's Studio Little Moments collection, which is available in the Paper Issues Store.  The colors were perfect for my photos!!

Be sure to play along and add your project to the Current Issue Challenge album in the Paper Issues Friends and Fans Facebook Group to be entered to win a gift certificate to the Paper Issues Store.  You have until June 6th to play along!

Lori Whitlock: Book Box

Hi Everyone!  I'm up on the Lori Whitlock Blog today with a tutorial showing how to assemble her new Book Boxes.  I used her Small Book Box as a gift card holder for my daughter's English Teacher.  He's been so helpful, writing college recommendations, editing application essays and the like, she wanted to show him how much she appreciated his help!

I used Lori's Pinstripes Collection for Echo Park for the box.  I love the colors!  I completed the box with some alphas from the Pinstripes Alpha Stickers.

Such a fun little gift, and perfect for an English Teacher!  Stop by Lori's blog for the assembly tutorial here!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek.

Doodlebug Design: Daily Doodles Perpetual Calendar

Hi Everyone!  Today I have a fun project featuring the fun Daily Doodles Calendars!  I will admit, I've been hording these calendar sheets, I love them so much, I wanted to make sure I used them for the perfect project!  I decided the best way to enjoy them was to get to use them over and over, so I created a perpetual calendar with them!

I started by decorating a calendar for each month using a variety of Doodlebug Stickers on the borders.  To make the calendars re-usable  I covered the current month with a sheet of acetate, and used dry-erase markers for the dates and events.  Once the month is done, I just wipe off the acetate and start again with the next month!   I even created re-usable stickers by backing some Doodlebug stickers with cling vinyl.  They stick to the acetate, but can be taken off and re-used.  Here are some close-ups...

The stickers are easy to store on another piece of acetate.  It's kind of like Color-forms for adults!  Best thing is that all of the monthly calendars, the stickers and the acetate can all be held in one place using my Doodlebug ClipArt Clipboard!  The clipboard can also be hung on the wall!

Here is a look at all of the months...

And now something for you!  I created a sheet of print and cut calendar/planner labels for the Silhouette, and would love to share them with you.  They are all in fun Doodlebug colors!  You can print/cut them on sticker paper, or add cling vinyl like I did so they are re-usable!  You can get them  here.

That's it for me today, make sure to stop by for more Daily Doodles Inspiration!
