Doodlebug Design: Hello Layout

I will admit, I usually take selfies that are less than flattering. I just don't have the knack..  It's so bad that  my college-aged daughter won't let me take the picture if she is a part of it.  But every once in a while, one of those silly selfies becomes my favorite picture!  That's what happened with this group selfie featuring me, along with my mom and daughter.

Doodlebug's Hello was the perfect collection to document this sweet moment!  The colors, the hints of gold and the pretty flowers perfectly complement my photo!  I started with the Beautiful Blooms and the Poppy Plaid papers to back my picture, my two favorites!

I used a lot of flowers from the Odds & Ends collection to embellish as well as a couple of items from the Chit Chats Pack.  I popped them up with some foam tape to add dimension.

I just love the acetate pieces in the Odds and Ends Pack!  I finished up my layout by scattering some of the flowers from the Pink Poppy Doodlepop and adding my title using some Bubblegum Abigail Font Stickers.

Lori Whitlock: Customized Graduation Cards

Hi Everyone! Today I'm on the Lori Whitlock Blog with some fun Graduation cards.  We have at least 4 graduation parties coming up and I wanted to use the new Flexi Card Congrats Grad (SVG, Silhouette).  I decided to embellish them a bit and also to add a gift card pocket to the back of the card.  I used the Graduation Cap with Year (SVG, Silhouette), and the pocket piece from the Gift Card Purse (SVG, Silhouette) to customize my cards.

I looked up the colors for each of the schools and used those colors for the frame and background piece on the Flexi Cards.  The papers I used are Doodlebug Design's Gingham Linen Petite Prints.  I resized the graduation cap and year to fit the front of the card and added them with some foam tape to make them pop a bit.  I used a Doodlebug gold glitter sprinkle to top off the tassel.

I resized the pocket from Gift Card Purse to fit on the back of the card, this way I can add a little something to the card!

Below, I've highlighted the pieces I resized so you can see how big to make them if you wish to recreate this card. (you can also use the pocket on the other cards in the Flexi Card Sentiment Bundle as well)

(Measurements:  Hat: 1.161"h x 2.25"w    Year:  1.140"h x 1.0"w   Pocket:  1.991"h x 4.463"w)

Doodlebug Design: Sweet Summer Cards

Hello everyone!  I'm so happy to be kicking off a couple of weeks of Sweet Summer Inspiration over on the Doodlebug Design Blog!   Summer is almost here, and I for one am VERY HAPPY about that!  It's been a long winter here in New England!  I decided to make some fun cards to celebrate!

Sweet Summer is such a fun, versatile collection!  For my first card I made a box card and filled it with the adorable fruits from the Odds & Ends Pack!

I edited this file for the crate (deleted the bottom portion) and then added some inserts to hold the fruits.  The crate was made using papers from the Sweet Summer 6x6 Pad, and the sentiment is from the Sweet Summer Chit Chats Pack.  I just love the little faces on the fruits!!!

My next card is a fun pop up card.  I just love making little scenes with the Odds & Ends!

Every time I see the little seagulls from the Odds & Ends Pack all I can think of are the seagulls from Finding Nemo ( Mine!  Mine!  Mine!!!)  They are just too cute.  I used some Almond Textured Cardstock for the sand and some Bubble Blue Gingham Linen Petite Prints for my sky.  The tree, chair, seagulls and sun are from the Odds & Ends Pack and the sentiment is from the This & That Sticker Sheet.  I finished it up with a little drink from the Tropical Punch Shaped Sprinkles.

I made my last card for a friend's upcoming birthday.  She has hosted the "work friends" girls nights for about 20 years! (of the 15-ish of us, only one still works at the company,  lol)  When I saw the cute little tropical drinks, I thought of her fun parties!

I started with the Punch Plaid Cardstock which is my FAVORITE in this collection!   I enlarged one of the insta-frames from the Polaroid Puppy Love Cut file to frame the cute little drinks from the Odds & Ends package.  I finished it off with some sentiments from the Chit Chat Pack.  Now if I only remember to mail it I'll be in good shape!

Be sure to stop by the Doodlebug Blog over the next couple of weeks for more fabulous Sweet Summer inspiration from the Design Team!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!
