Paper Issues: Mum's the Word

Hi Everyone!  We have a new Issue up at Paper Issues today, "Mum's the Word."  Ideas for the issue are Mother's Day, what you call your mother, flowers, gardening, spring, put the focus on a big word or journaling, are you good at keeping secrets/my lips are sealed, One Little Word projects, use lips as an embellishment, someone who is like a mother to you, use Doodlebug products... There's a million different ways to look at it!!  This issue is being sponsored by Doodlebug Design (obviously one of my FAVORITES!!)   I chose to play with some flowers for my project!  Take a peek...

Hydrangeas are my favorite flowers.  We have about 30 of them in my back yard and every year they blossom in to big gorgeous blooms! Unfortunately right now they look like a bunch of dried sticks!  I found a fun 3D Hydrangea file, designed by Jamie Cripps, in the Silhouette Store and went to work!  Jamie also designed the vase file.

I used a combination of Doodlebug's new Sprinkles Vellum and Tiny Prints for the individual blossoms.  The leaves were created from some Kraft in Color paper (Limeade Arrow/Dot) and the stems are wrapped with some Doodlebug Limeade Swiss Dot Washi Tape.

The vase was created from some Kraft in Color (Swimming Pool Dot/Woodgrain) paper with some lace tape from my stash and some Doodlebug Sequins!  Now I don't have to wait another 3 months to look at Hydrangea blossoms!
We'd love for you to play along with us!  Link up your Mum's the Word  projects (here) and you could win this fun prize pack from Doodlebug Designs!

And make sure to stop by the Paper Issues Blog to check out all of the other Mum's the Word projects from the Design Team!

Creative Scrappers: Sketch 267 Reveal

Good morning everyone!  It's been a very busy blog week!!  Today is reveal day over at Creative Scrappers!  Check out sketch 267.

And here's my take....

I stayed pretty true to the sketch.  I did change it a bit by moving the block down and to the right a little and instead of having strips going vertical, I stitched a "phone cord" horizontally through the middle.  I used Pink Paislee's Switchboard for my layout...I thought it went perfectly with this ADORABLE picture of my daughter from 1999!  We should have known back then that she would have a love of phones!

Switchboard has tons of goodies to play with!  I used some of the Paper & Clear die cuts, the Puffy Stickers and the Chipboard Stickers to create some embellishment clusters.

We'd love to see your take on Sketch 267!  Make sure to link up your take to this sketch and you could win a prize from our sponsor My Creative Scrapbook.  You might also be featured on our Facebook page or blog!!!  I'll be back tomorrow with the new issue from Paper Issues!

Doodlebug Design: Sugar Shoppe Projects

Hi Everyone! Today I have two fun projects I created using Doodlebug's new Sugar Shoppe Collection.  Sugar Shoppe definitely goes on the books as one of my all time favorite collections!  I just adore the combination of colors!  For my first project, I created a layout featuring my daughter blowing out her birthday candles last summer.

I loved all of the papers, I wanted to showcase them all!  I decided that a fun layered look would work!  And of course I couldn't pass up using the fun garland!

There are some great stickers with Sugar Shoppe included this cake and balloon!  I used some Bumblebee twine to hand stitch the balloon string.

I also used some of the Sugar Shoppe Pixies to embellish my layout.  They were the perfect addition!

For my second project, I designed this fun shaped birthday card.  We've had a whole slew of Sweet 16 birthday parties this year!  Everything from a simple dinner out with a couple of friends to full scale semi formal dress up parties!  I'm just glad I have until the summer to come up with something, and am thankful that my daughter is thinking more along the lines of a PJ-clad, Just Dance-off kind of party!

I created the card in 3 layers to show off more of the fun papers from the collection!  I added more of the balloon stickers from the Icon Stickers and tied them together with some Doodlebug twine!

Now for something fun!  I'd love to share the cut file I created to make this card!  Head on over to the Doodlebug Blog to download(here)  I hope you enjoy it!  That's all for me today...make sure to keep checking the Doodlebug Blog for design team inspiration, and your chance to win this great collection!

Hi Everyone....I wanted to share the latest layout for the It's a Plan Class at Right at Home Scrapbooking.  We'll be playing with some fun Doodlebug goodies from the Take Note Collection.

It's a bright and cheery layout!  There's some machine stitching and some hand stitching using some solid twine from The Twinery.

In addition to this layout we'll be creating another 2-pager using some Doodlebug Flower Box Collection!  This month's It's a plan class will be held on Sunday, April 27th at 1:00pm.  We'd love to see you there!  Make sure to call the store to reserve your spot!  That's it for today.  I'll be back tomorrow with a couple of projects done for the Doodlebug DT and on Friday for the fun Creative Scrappers Birthday Blog Hop!

Paper Issues: Pitch Perfect

Hi Everyone!  I'm back today with a project for the latest issue at Paper Issues...Pitch Perfect.  The PI girls all have a love for this fun movie, so we decided to make an issue of it!  Some ideas for projects are music...acapella groups, or an instrument you play.  Other ideas are baseball pitching, your favorite movie, song lyrics, sales pitch, performing arts or toddler tantrums (pitching a fit).  The great folks at Lawn Fawn are sponsoring this issue and sent us the fun Stay Tuned stamp set to use!  Here's what I created:

I though this juke box card from the Rockin' and Rollin' SVG kit at SVGCuts.com was the perfect project for Pitch Perfect!  I used some papers and sequins from the Let's Polka collection by Lawn Fawn to create the card.

The music notes are from the Stay Tuned Stamp set.

In addition to the sequins, I added some stickles to up the sparkle factor!

The SVG file also comes with an insert for the card to make it easier to add a sentiment.  I stamped some more music notes and added the You Rock! sentiment to the inside of the card.

We would love for you to play along with us!  Link up your Pitch Perfect project here and you could win the Stay Tuned Stamp set from Lawn Fawn!

Make sure to stop by the Paper Issues Blog too to check out the other creations by the Design Team!  Thanks for stopping by!

Creative Scrappers: Sketch 266 Reveal

Hi Everyone!  It's reveal day at Creative Scrappers for sketch 266.  Take a peek at this fun sketch!

I decided to turn the sketch to the left for my layout.  Here's my take:

This picture was taken last fall.  It's my parents, husband, daughter and I at a family party.  My mom used it for her Christmas card.  I thought that Bella Blvd's Family Forever was the perfect match to my picture!

The fun flair is from the Chic Tags April Kit.  The flowers were fussy cut from the Bella Blvd. Sunday Brunch Paper.

To complete my layout I created this fun butterfly using some new Ladybug Sprinkles Vellum from Doodlebug Design.  In place of the circles on the layout, I stitched some swirls using some Solid Midnight Blue Twine from The Twinery.

We'd love to see your take on this sketch!  Link up your creation and you could win a fun prize from our April Sponsor Scraptastic Club

Make sure to stop by the Creative Scrapper's Blog for more inspiration from the design team!  That's it for me today.  I'll be back tomorrow with a fun project for Paper Issues.  Thanks for stopping by!

Doodlebug Designs: Some More Hip Hip Hooray

Hi Everyone, I'm back today with my second layout using the Doodlebug Designs Hip Hip Hooray collection.  This one features my two "not so little" monsters...Daisy and Rosie.

As soon as I saw them, I fell in love with those little monsters from the Monsters- Icon Mini stickers. They are just too cute!  (Kind of like my kitties!)  I decided to showcase them as little "stamps."

Again...one of my favorite techniques, mixing and matching alphas for titles!
That's it for me today, make sure to stop by the Doodlebug Blog to see the Design Team's creations and for a chance to win this collection!  Thanks for stopping by!

Doodlebug Design: Hip Hip Hooray Project

Hi Everyone... I'm up on the Doodlebug Blog today with a couple of layouts I created using the Hip Hip Hooray Collection.  I absolutely love this collection. The colors and patterns are so bold and bright!  Since I don't have any little guys to scrap, I decided to show a different side of this fun collection.

My first layout showcases my husband and his "toy."  He always wanted a vintage Mustang, so last year he bought this beauty!  We call her Sally (or "the mistress...") . He's always saying "why don't you scrap pictures of my car?"  Well...here you go honey...

Not quite sure if this is what he had in mind, but I thought it was perfect!

The Life is Good was cut from one of the Simply Put cards

I created my title using a mix of different Doodlebug Alphas from the Teensy Type sheets.  I love to mix and match alphas!  That's it for me today.  I'll be back tomorrow with the second layout I created using Hip Hip Hooray.  Make sure to stop by the Doodlebug Blog to see all of the fun projects created by the Design Team and check out your chance to win this collection!  Thanks for stopping by.

Paper Issues: Pocket Full of Sunshine

We have a new Issue up over at Paper Issues called "A Pocket Full of Sunshine." You can link up your pocket/Project Life pages, projects with suns, sunbursts, sunny days, pockets...  Here's what I created...

This is my "extra large" kitty Daisy.  We grow them big around here... I am completely in love with the new Lawn Fawn Collections Hello Sunshine and Let's Polka.  The colors and prints make me so happy!  And the sequins.....!  I combined them with the March kit from Chic Tags and some custom flair from our sponsor Panda Eight Designs.

I found this sun in the Silhouette store and it reminded me of the adorable sun in the April Showers Die set from Lawn Fawn...had to use it!

The journaling card and other tags are from the Chic Tags kit.   The Good Day Sunshine flair is from our sponsor Panda Eight.   We'd love for you to play along with our Pocket Full of Sunshine Issue!  Link up your projects here and you could win 5 sets of flair from the Panda Eight shop!  In addition, Martha of Panda Eight has provided a coupon for 20% off  (SUNSHINE20) in her store. Thanks for stopping by today and don't forget to link up!
