Doodlebug Design | Study Abroad Layout

My daughter spent the last year studying in Scotland for her junior year abroad.  She really took advantage of the inexpensive flights and accommodations in Europe... so much so that we joke that the year was more about the "abroad" than about the studying! I wanted to create a layout showcasing some of my favorite pictures from her travels.  I was inspired by some of the fun icons in the Fun in the Sun SVG Collection... take a peek...

I created the Silhouette file for the Study Abroad, and filled the letters with my favorite pictures.  I  backed the Study letters with papers from a combination of the Simply Spring and Sugar & Spice 6x6 pads.  The background papers are also from the Simply Spring Collection... they were the perfect fit...the ruled paper for the study theme and the clouds for the travel abroad theme!  Here are some close-ups...

Of course I had to use the airplane file from the Fun in the Sun collection. I embellished with some clouds from Fun in the Sun collection and stitching for the plane trails.

How cute is the little globe??

My daughter loved all the bicycles in Amsterdam so I just had to add the bike cut file.  To complete I added some stitching for the ground and some flowers sprinkles.
If you would like to use the Study Abroad Silhouette file, you can download it free from my blog here.  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by!

Doodlebug Design | Spring Note Card Set

Today it seems that all communication is done electronically.  We rely on text, email and social media messages, forgetting how much it means to others when we send a little hand-written note or card, and how much we enjoy receiving them!  I thought it would be fun to create a little set of note cards in a box to give as a gift.  This would make a great present for a mom, friend or teacher...take a peek...

I used a few of  the new Doodlebug Stamp Sets to create the cards.  I kept them pretty simple... just a small 3x3 card with an image and a sweet sentiment, backed with papers from the Simply Spring and Hoppy Easter 6x6 pads.  I even made little coordinating envelopes from the 12 x 12 coordinating papers.  Here are some close-ups of the cards...

To house them I created a little box using Silhouette Model Maker.  I decorated it with some of the flowers from the Garden Flowers Craft Kit, the Spring Fling Odds & Ends and a cute little butterfly from the Little Critters Shaped Sprinkles.

The cards and envelopes fit perfectly!

If you would like to make a set for yourself, I have the Silhouette files for the box and envelope on my blog here.  If you do use the files, be sure to tag Doodlebug on social media, we'd love to see what you make!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

Doodlebug Design: Dragon Tails Party Set

Hi Everyone!  Today I have a fun party set featuring the oh so adorable Dragon Tails Collection from Doodlebug Design.   I'm part Swedish, so the little vikings in this collection are right up my alley, and don't get me started on the adorable dragons.  I put together a cute little party set, take a peek..

I really had a fun time with this collection! I started with the banner featuring lots of pieces from the Odds & Ends and tied together with some Blue Jean Chunky Twine.   I love how many pieces you get in the Odds & Ends package, I used so many and still have most of them left!

Next up is this cute little castle I made as a centerpiece.  I started with this cut file from Lori Whitlock, which was actually meant to be a sand castle.  All it took to make it look like a stone castle was some of the Cobblestones Double Sided Cardstock!  I added some vikings from the Mini Icon Stickers, the Hip Hip Hooray Mini Garland, and a cute dragon & present sticker from the Icons Sticker Sheet.  To finish it off, I gave the dragon a balloon from the Balloon Shaped Sprinkles!

Here is the back of the castle, I couldn't resist adding one more little dragon with a balloon!

I made the little party favors to look like the broken dragon eggs.  I added a little Dragon from the Odds & Ends to each "egg" and filled them with some treats!

I created the Broken Egg Half  Silhouette file along with a little piece to help the Dragons stand up, and would love to share it with you!  You can download it  here.  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

Doodlebug Design: Easter Express Projects and a Free Silhouette Cut File!

Hi Everyone!  Today I have a sweet shaker card and gift bag I created using the new Doodlebug Design Easter Express!  Take a peek...

I started with this cut file from Lori Whitlock for the adorable little egg-shaped bag.  I used the flowered side of the Chickie Babies paper for the box and decorated it with a bunny from the Odds & Ends, and one of the word strips from the Springtime Stripes Paper.

Just fill it with some Easter grass and some treats and it's the perfect little gift!  I searched for the perfect card to accompany this box, and ended up making one of my own!  I created a Silhouette file for the shaker card below...

This card reminds me of those diorama sugar Easter eggs from when I was little!  I decorated the inside with another bunny and some flowers from the Odds & Ends and added some Doodlebug Sequins for the shakers!  Now something for you!  I'd love to share the Silhouette cut file for this card with you!  You can download it from my cut-files page for free here!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

Doodlebug Design: Hostess Gift K-Cup Christmas Tree

Hi Everyone, it's I'm on the Doodlebug Blog today with a fun idea for a Hostess/Neighbor Gift.  The holidays are full of fun and festivities, I'm thankful for our friends and family who open their homes to us, and want to make sure they know how much I appreciate them!  One friend in particular hosts our neighborhood holiday party every year, she's wonderful.  She also loves her daily French vanilla coffee, so I decided to make a gift featuring her favorite /drink...

I created this fun tree using K-Cup coffee pods as the base. You could use the Tea K-Cups or Cocoa K-Cups as well.   This would be a fun gift for a coworker or teacher, anywhere there is a Keurig Machine!  Here's how I put it all together...

I started with 21 K-Cups, 21 paper circles (I cut these from the Here Comes Santa Claus 6 x 6 pad, and the Gingham Linen Petite Prints 6x6 Pad.) and a backing for the cups cut from a sheet of Grasshopper Gingham Linen Petite Prints.  I designed this backing in my silhouette and am happy to share the file with you here!

Using removable glue dots, I attached a paper circle to each of the K-Cups.

Next, using foam squares, I attached each K-Cup to the tree backing starting on the top.

Once the K-cups were all attached, I set to decorating my "tree" using items from the Doodlebug Design Here Comes Santa Claus Collection including the Christmas Assortment Matte Sprinkles, Candy Cane and Holly Berry Shaped Sprinkles, and stickers from the Icons Sheet and some Odds and Ends.  I also added some of the new Here Come's Santa Cut Files available in the Silhouette Store and the Lori Whitlock SVG Shop

I can't wait to give it to her!  She will be so happy.  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

Doodlebug Design: Here Comes Santa Claus

Hi Everyone!  Today I have some fun photo cards using the Here Comes Santa Claus Collection!  Every year I send out about 100 Christmas cards.  I love photo cards, both sending and receiving!  It's so fun to see how every one's kids ( and pets ) have grown through the years.  I decided to create a few different versions this year...

The first card I created was a shaker style card.  I used some Doodlebug Sequins and some of the Snowflakes from the Icons Sticker Sheet to fill the shaker.  The sentiment is from the Santa Celebration Cardstock.  The little Snowman from the Odds and Ends and the ADORABLE little Red Robin mini Doodle pop complete the look!

My next card is a simple one, it has a pocket inside where you can slip in your photo.  I decorated it with the ornaments from the Odds and Ends and one of the Heart Cute Clips.   The sentiment is also from the Santa Celebration paper.

My last card is more of a fun instant photo type card.  I used the Merry Christmas Washi Tape for the sentiment and finished it off with the Standing Santa Sticker from the Icons Sticker Sheet and a present from the Odds and Ends.

Now something for you!  I created Silhouette cut files for each of these cards!  You can make your own base cards and decorate them with the Here Comes Santa Claus Papers, Stickers and Odds and Ends of your choice!  You can download the files from my blog here!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

Paper Issues and Tombow Blog Hop

Hello and Welcome to the Tombow USA and PaperIssues Blog Hop!  You probably got here from Beth Watson's blog, but if not you can head over to the Paper Issues Blog to get the whole line-up and start from the beginning.  You don't want to miss anything!  For my hop project, I created a fun mini to showcase pictures from our trip to the Florida Keys last summer.  It's one of our favorite places to vacation!  Take a peek...

I used Color Chaos and Clear Cuts from Bella Blvd. for the body of my album, and the embellishments are from various Bella Blvd. Collections.  To hold it all together securely, I used Tombow Xtreme Permanent Adhesive and Tombow Mono Aqua Liquid Glue.  The liquid glue was perfect for use on the Clear Cuts, since it goes on and dries clear, Also, I loved the Xtreme Adhesive for adding embellishments...especially in a mini album that gets handled a lot, it really keeps things where you want them!

Here are some peeks at the inside pages....

And I couldn't resist embellishing the back page!

Both Tombow USA and Paper Issues are offering giveaways so be sure to visit all of the blogs on the hop. Tombow USA is giving away an assortment of their adhesives, the same ones used by the Paper Issues team including Tombow Mono Adhesive Permanent, NEW Tombow Adhesive Dots, Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Glue and Tombow Mono Aqua Liquid Glue. Paper Issues is giving away a $20 Gift Card to the Paper Issues Store.  To win, visit and comment on all of the participating bloggers' posts.  When you're done, be sure to head on over to the Paper Issues Facebook Page and tell us which project is your favorite.  You have until May 12th at 11:59 EST to comment.  Winners will be picked randomly and announced on May 13, 2015.

Now one more thing before you move on... I'd like to share the cut file I created for my album.  You can access the Silhouette file here

Doodlebug Designs: First Days of School Mini Album

Hi Everyone!  Today I have a mini album featuring Doodlebug's new Back to School Collection.  Every year we take the "first day of school" picture...I decided to put them all in a fun mini to see how my daughter has changed through the years!  Take a peek:

I started with Doodlebug's Plain and Simple 6x6 square chipboard album.  I covered all of the pages with the fun Back to School Papers mixed with some coordinating Petite Prints..  For my title, I mixed and matched a few different Doodlebug Alphabets including the new Skinny Cardstock Stickers, Chippers and Teensy Type letters.

I wanted to keep the feel of the book basically the same throughout, so I created some frame files using my Silhouette Cameo.  On each frame, I used my Silhouette sketch pens to write the grade.  Here's a look at the inside pages...

And then there's that one page that makes me sniffle....

I'm torn between being excited and sad for the first day of Senior Year picture!!!  Back to School's Stickers, Sprinkles and Doodlepops made this mini so easy to put together!  Now a little something for you... I'd love to share the sketch/cut files I created for the photo frames.  You can download the file to use with your Silhouette here.  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!
