Doodlebug Design: Christmas Gift Bags

Hi Everyone!  Today I'm up on the Doodlebug Blog with some Holiday Gift Wrap ideas!  I do love a gift bag, they make life so easy,  I thought it would be fun to dress up some plain bags a little with Doodlebug Cut Files and Odds & Ends pieces.

I started by making a couple of gift bags using Lori Whitlock's Gift Bag SVG file (here in the Silhouette Store) I used papers from the Milk & Cookies Collection for the bag body and trim.  For the handles I used some Doodlebug Washi Tape in coordinating colors.  To make the handles, I folded the tape onto itself so the sticky sides were together.  I then cut it into lengths for the handles.  I added cute die cuts from the Milk and Cookies Odds and Ends which I embellished with some Christmas Assortment Glitter Sprinkles and some Holly Berry Sprinkles to finish the bags.  Here are some close-ups:

For the other three bags, I purchased plain bags at my local Paper Store.  They were great because they came with the backgrounds already!  I then went to work adding different cut files.  To get the sizing correct, I first measured the colored area of my bag, then I drew a rectangle shape in Silhouette to those dimensions.  This made it easy to plan my "scenes" and get the cut file sizing correct.

I then set to cutting the files and decorating the bags.  Here are some close ups and the files and supplies I used:

For the large snowman bag, I used a mix of collections including Doodlebug Textured Cardstock, Gingham Linen Petite Prints and patterned papers from both the Milk & Cookies and Santa Express Collections.  I added Stickles to the Snowman hat and snowflakes.  Here are the cut files I used.

Snowman- Here Comes Santa SVG  (here in the Silhouette Store)
Milk & Cookies Snowflakes SVG   (here in the Silhouette Store)
Birds - Here Comes Santa SVG  (here in the Silhouette Store)

For the Kitty Tree Bag I used Gingham Linen Petite Prints, and patterned papers from the Milk & Cookies, Santa Express and Here Comes Santa Collections.  I also added some Christmas Assortment Glitter Sprinkles.  Here are the cut files I used:
Milk and Cookies Tree SVG  (here in the Silhouette Store)
Milk and Cookies Kitty SVG  (here in the Silhouette Store)
Gifts - Here Comes Santa SVG (here in Silhouette Store)

Finally for my ornament bag I used the Pastel Starlights Double Sided Cardstock from the Milk and Cookies Collection.  I embellished the shapes with some Stickles to add a little shape.  The cut file is the Ornaments - Here Comes Santa SVG  (here in the Silhouette Store)

I think they will look wonderful under the tree this year, now if I could only get my act together to purchase gifts to fill them!  Make sure to stop by all this week and next for more Holiday Gift Ideas from the design team!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

Doodlebug Design: Hostess Gift K-Cup Christmas Tree

Hi Everyone, it's I'm on the Doodlebug Blog today with a fun idea for a Hostess/Neighbor Gift.  The holidays are full of fun and festivities, I'm thankful for our friends and family who open their homes to us, and want to make sure they know how much I appreciate them!  One friend in particular hosts our neighborhood holiday party every year, she's wonderful.  She also loves her daily French vanilla coffee, so I decided to make a gift featuring her favorite /drink...

I created this fun tree using K-Cup coffee pods as the base. You could use the Tea K-Cups or Cocoa K-Cups as well.   This would be a fun gift for a coworker or teacher, anywhere there is a Keurig Machine!  Here's how I put it all together...

I started with 21 K-Cups, 21 paper circles (I cut these from the Here Comes Santa Claus 6 x 6 pad, and the Gingham Linen Petite Prints 6x6 Pad.) and a backing for the cups cut from a sheet of Grasshopper Gingham Linen Petite Prints.  I designed this backing in my silhouette and am happy to share the file with you here!

Using removable glue dots, I attached a paper circle to each of the K-Cups.

Next, using foam squares, I attached each K-Cup to the tree backing starting on the top.

Once the K-cups were all attached, I set to decorating my "tree" using items from the Doodlebug Design Here Comes Santa Claus Collection including the Christmas Assortment Matte Sprinkles, Candy Cane and Holly Berry Shaped Sprinkles, and stickers from the Icons Sheet and some Odds and Ends.  I also added some of the new Here Come's Santa Cut Files available in the Silhouette Store and the Lori Whitlock SVG Shop

I can't wait to give it to her!  She will be so happy.  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

Doodlebug Design: Here Comes Santa Claus Cut Files

Hi Everyone!  Today I have a project I created using the fabulous new Doodlebug Design Here Comes Santa Cut files available in both the Silhouette Online Store and the Lori Whitlock SVG Shop!  One of my all time favorite Doodlebug Characters is the little lopsided snowman!  You can imagine my excitement to find that he is now a cut file!  I decided to make him the focus of a fun Holiday decoration for my front door!  Take a peek...

Here are some more close-ups of my snowman... He is pieced together using Doodlebug Textured Cardstock,  Gingham-Linen Petite Prints, Here Comes Santa Claus Papers and some Chevron Sugar Coated Cardstock for the Snowflakes.  I also used some Ladybug Chunky Twine to Tie it all together (sorry, couldn't resist the pun)

I used the new Snowflakes #1 and Snowflakes #2 files as bases for my letters.

And last but not least I added the cute little bird which was part of last week's release!

And just so you can get a better idea of his size, here he is on my door.

That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

Doodlebug Design: Here Comes Santa Claus Cut Files

Hi Everyone!  Today I have some fun projects using the fabulous new Doodlebug Design Here Comes Santa Cut files that are available in the Silhouette Store and in SVG format in the Lori Whitlock SVG Shop!  Take a peek...

How cute are these Santas??!!  They were perfect to decorate these K-Cup holders!  The holders hold either one or two K-Cups, which I filled with some fun Cocoa cups!  I thought these would make a fun gift!  I used some Doodlebug Textured Cardstock for the bases, some Here Comes Santa Claus Papers for the background and tags and some new Linen Petite Prints to piece together my Santas!  Here are some close-ups...

I just love that Santa on a Scooter (Silhouette, Lori Whitlock SVG Shop).  He is so fun, and the Standing Santa (Silhouette, Lori Whitlock SVG Shop) looks like he's ready to give a big hug!  Here is a side view of the holders.

I'm so excited for Doodlebug Cut files!  They bring Doodlebug Cuteness to a whole new level!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

Doodlebug Design: Here Comes Santa Claus

Hi Everyone!  Today I have some fun photo cards using the Here Comes Santa Claus Collection!  Every year I send out about 100 Christmas cards.  I love photo cards, both sending and receiving!  It's so fun to see how every one's kids ( and pets ) have grown through the years.  I decided to create a few different versions this year...

The first card I created was a shaker style card.  I used some Doodlebug Sequins and some of the Snowflakes from the Icons Sticker Sheet to fill the shaker.  The sentiment is from the Santa Celebration Cardstock.  The little Snowman from the Odds and Ends and the ADORABLE little Red Robin mini Doodle pop complete the look!

My next card is a simple one, it has a pocket inside where you can slip in your photo.  I decorated it with the ornaments from the Odds and Ends and one of the Heart Cute Clips.   The sentiment is also from the Santa Celebration paper.

My last card is more of a fun instant photo type card.  I used the Merry Christmas Washi Tape for the sentiment and finished it off with the Standing Santa Sticker from the Icons Sticker Sheet and a present from the Odds and Ends.

Now something for you!  I created Silhouette cut files for each of these cards!  You can make your own base cards and decorate them with the Here Comes Santa Claus Papers, Stickers and Odds and Ends of your choice!  You can download the files from my blog here!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!
