Doodlebug Design | School Days Pop Up Card

Happy Monday folks!  I'm excited to be kicking off a couple of weeks of School Days inspiration on the Doodlebug Blog. This year back to school is a little bittersweet for me... my daughter is starting her last year of college.  I can't believe she's almost done and that I'm old enough to have a college senior!  I will be happy to be done with tuition bills though!  Since I don't have a first day of school picture yet, I decided to make a little card with the collection.  If you haven't seen the little icons in this collection yet, you're in for a treat.  They are all so cute, but these little crayons just make me ridiculously happy!  Take a peek...

I immediately envisioned the crayons popping out of an  old school crayon box (remember... the 64 crayons with the sharpener in the back??)  I fashioned the box from the Very Primary and Arithmetic papers.  They were the perfect colors!  I added in the crayons with some foam tape to give them some dimension and completed the look with the sentiment from the This & That Stickers and some You're a Star Shaped Sprinkles.  Here  is a close-up..

I kept the front of the card simple, using a chit chat sentiment and the crayon stickers from the Icons Sticker sheet... and how cute is that crayon paper???

We would love to see your projects featuring the School Days Collection!  Be sure to tag Doodlebug Design on Facebook and Instagram so we are sure to see them!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

Lori Whitlock: Crayons Box Card

Well, I don't think we can deny it any more, Back to School time is definitely here.  The public schools here in the Northeast are still enjoying vacation, but many of my friend's kiddos across the country are already back in the classroom!  Summer just flew by!  Luckily, Lori has some really cute back to school designs to make it all a little better.  I fell in love with this Box Card Crayons (SVG, Silhouette)  as soon as I saw it!  It reminds me of new school supplies and a fresh box of crayons!  I used some of the new Doodlebug Design Petite Prints to piece it together...take a peek...

The only thing that's missing is the sharpener in the back of the box!  I know a lot of teachers who would love to receive this cute card!  Lori has an assembly video for this type of card here:  A2 Box Cards New Method.   That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

Lori Whitlock: K-Cup Carrier Tutorial

Hi Everyone! I'm up on the Lori Whitlock Blog today with an assembly tutorial for Lori's new K-Cup Carriers.  It's that time of year again when you need lots of little thank you gifts for teachers, baby sitters, coaches, dance teachers... the list almost seems endless!  Lori's new K-Cup Carriers make a cute little gift that's easy to make!  There are two new versions,  The K-Cup Carrier 2 Cups (SVG, Silhouette)  and the K-Cup Carrier 4 Cups (SVG, Silhouette).   I worked with the 2 cup version for the tutorial, but the 4 cup version is assembled in exactly the same manner.  I used some new Back to School Collection from Echo Park Paper to piece it together.

For the full tutorial, stop by Lori's Blog here.  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

Lori Whitlock: Sneak Peek

Hi Everyone! I have a sneak peek at a new file that will be available tomorrow in the Lori Whitlock SVG shop and the Silhouette Store. This 3d Backpack is just so cute and would make a great back to school gift for the kids (and teachers!) in your life!

I put together a quick tutorial showing how to assemble this new file, so you'll be all set once it hits the shop! I used Lori's Celebrate Spring and Celebrate Easter Collections for Echo Park Paper.  To see the full tutorial head over to Lori's Blog here.

Such a cute way to package up a little back to school gift!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

Doodlebug Designs: First Days of School Mini Album

Hi Everyone!  Today I have a mini album featuring Doodlebug's new Back to School Collection.  Every year we take the "first day of school" picture...I decided to put them all in a fun mini to see how my daughter has changed through the years!  Take a peek:

I started with Doodlebug's Plain and Simple 6x6 square chipboard album.  I covered all of the pages with the fun Back to School Papers mixed with some coordinating Petite Prints..  For my title, I mixed and matched a few different Doodlebug Alphabets including the new Skinny Cardstock Stickers, Chippers and Teensy Type letters.

I wanted to keep the feel of the book basically the same throughout, so I created some frame files using my Silhouette Cameo.  On each frame, I used my Silhouette sketch pens to write the grade.  Here's a look at the inside pages...

And then there's that one page that makes me sniffle....

I'm torn between being excited and sad for the first day of Senior Year picture!!!  Back to School's Stickers, Sprinkles and Doodlepops made this mini so easy to put together!  Now a little something for you... I'd love to share the sketch/cut files I created for the photo frames.  You can download the file to use with your Silhouette here.  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!
