Doodlebug Design: All About Me Challenge

Hi Everyone! I'm on the Doodlebug Design Blog today with my take on the All About Me Challenge.  I will admit, this challenge was... well a challenge!  I had tons of ideas, but none seemed quite right.  Finally, I was looking on Pinterest and saw some baby milestone chalkboards and thought that it would be fun to use this type of layout for my project!  Take a peek...

I started with some Gingham Linen Petite Prints in Lily White and Beetle to make my "chalkboard"  I added my name and some flowers for decoration.  The flowers are from the Flea Market Flower Cluster Cut file available in the Lori Whitlock SVG Shop here, and the Silhouette Store here.  I moved them around and cut out the centers, then added some sprinkles to make them look more like they were drawn.

I drew the frame using the sketch pen feature in my Silhouette.  I then labelled all of the sections using various Doodlebug Alphas.  I don't love my handwriting, but since this was about me, I decided the details should  be written in my hand!

The little pictures were created in Photoshop then printed and cut.

In addition to the pictures I thought it would be fun to add some Doodlebug Shaped Sprinkles and Mini Icon Stickers as well.  I will admit, it took me a long time to complete this, but I'm pretty happy with the results!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek.

Paper Issues: February Off the Page Challenge

Hi Everyone! Today I have the  February Off the Page Challenge for Paper Issues!  Of course, the themes this month are Love & Valentines!!  I would love to see all of your paper projects that are all about love, Valentines Day and the like!  They can be any type of project other than a traditional scrapbook page.  Here's what I created as inspiration for the challenge...

Growing up, I used to love giving Valentine's goodies to my friends. I continued this tradition when my daughter was little!   I put together this adorable little Valentine Mailbox from Lori Whitlock (available here in the Silhouette Store) as well as these cute little 3x3 Valentine Pop-Up Cards,  which are also from Lori Whitlock. (available here in the Silhouette Shop:  Dinosaur, Butterfly). I used Bella Blvd's Valentina Collection available here in the Paper Issues Store.  Here are some close-ups...

The Valentine's Mailbox is really a box with a lid.

The Pop-up Valentines are adorable.  I added some punny little sentiments using my Silhouette Sketch Pens.

And they fold over and hold together similar to a matchbook.  This makes them the perfect size to fit through the mailbox slot!
Playing along with the challenge is easy!  Post a picture of your project in the February Challenges Album under this picture in the Paper Issues Friends and Fans Facebook Group by March 6th.  You could win one of two gift certificates to the Paper Issues Store for playing along!  I can't wait to see what you create!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

Lori Whitlock: Thanksgiving Place Cards using Silhouette Cut by Color Feature Tutorial

Hi Everyone!  I'm up on the Lori Whitlock Blog today with a tutorial on how to use the Cut by Color Feature in the Silhouette Studio Software! If you’re not familiar, this feature allows you to select different cutting conditions for each line color on your design mat.  This is super handy when working with the Silhouette Sketch Pens and shapes.  I used this feature to create the leaves on these fun Thanksgiving Place cards.

I started with Lori's Thanksgiving Place Cards.  (here in the Silhouette Store) and some papers from Echo Park's The Story of Fall collection.  The names were written using my Silhouette Sketch Pens.  Here's a close up of one of the cards.

For my full tutorial, see my post on the Lori Whitlock Blog here.  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

Doodlebug Design Sun Kissed Layout

Hi Everyone, I have a fun summery layout today featuring Doodlebug Design's Sunkissed collection!  These pictures are from a few years ago...my daughter and her friend tubing in Crab Cove, Wareham, MA.  They had a blast!

I love the little Sun Doodlepop!  I accented it with a couple of clouds I cut using Lawn Fawn's Spring Showers dies.

I used my Silhouette and a glitter Sketch Pen for my journaling!  The font is by Lori Whitlock and is called Dot Sketch Font.

My title was created using some Chippers in Beetle Black.

That's it for me today, I'll be back on Saturday for a fun Blog hop with Paper Issues and Tombow!  Thanks for stopping by!

Doodlebug Designs: First Days of School Mini Album

Hi Everyone!  Today I have a mini album featuring Doodlebug's new Back to School Collection.  Every year we take the "first day of school" picture...I decided to put them all in a fun mini to see how my daughter has changed through the years!  Take a peek:

I started with Doodlebug's Plain and Simple 6x6 square chipboard album.  I covered all of the pages with the fun Back to School Papers mixed with some coordinating Petite Prints..  For my title, I mixed and matched a few different Doodlebug Alphabets including the new Skinny Cardstock Stickers, Chippers and Teensy Type letters.

I wanted to keep the feel of the book basically the same throughout, so I created some frame files using my Silhouette Cameo.  On each frame, I used my Silhouette sketch pens to write the grade.  Here's a look at the inside pages...

And then there's that one page that makes me sniffle....

I'm torn between being excited and sad for the first day of Senior Year picture!!!  Back to School's Stickers, Sprinkles and Doodlepops made this mini so easy to put together!  Now a little something for you... I'd love to share the sketch/cut files I created for the photo frames.  You can download the file to use with your Silhouette here.  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!
