Doodlebug Design | Happy Haunting Treat Boxes

I used to love to make Halloween favors filled with treats for my daughter's class when she was in school.  Well now she's older and living in another city, but I still felt the need to make some fun treat boxes for her and her friends.  When I saw the fun jars of creepy crawlies in the Happy Haunting Odds & Ends Pack, I decided to make some 3D versions.  I mean, how cute are those little worms??

I found a mason jar treat holder in the Lori Whitlock Shop and used that as the base for my boxes.  I added a fun shaker element to the front of the jars.  Take a peek...

Inside my shakers, I added the beetles, worms and flies from the Odds & Ends pack along with some seed beads.  I created the fun labels for the front using the print and cut feature of my Silhouette.  I finished them off with some cute little stickers from the mini icons sheet.  Here are some close-ups...

I filled them each with mini chocolate bar that I wrapped in some of the 6x6 papers from the collection. They could also hold some kisses or other goodies.  The "big" kids all loved them!  If you've created some fun projects with the Happy Haunting Collection, be sure to tag Doodlebug Design on Facebook and Instagram.  We love to see your creations.  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

Doodlebug Design | Ghost Town Trick or Treat Side Step Card

Halloween is tomorrow!  Do you have your costume ready?  How about the candy?  I may have eaten some of mine and had to make another trip to the store for more!!  I also made one more card using the adorable Ghost Town collection!  Take a peek...

I love the Odds & Ends pieces.  They make it so easy to create little scenes for cards and layouts!  For this card, I started with a step card base.   If you've never done a step card it's easy!  I did a tutorial for a Doodlebug Christmas version here if you need.  Once I had the base cut, I started putting together my little scene...  I used a number of the Odds & Ends pieces and stickers from the Icons sheet to create it.  The trick or treat word bubble is from the This & That Sheet.  It all went together very quickly and it folds flat for mailing!

If you use the Ghost Town Collection for any of your cards, layouts or projects, be sure to tag Doodlebug Design on Facebook or Instagram so we can see what you created!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

Doodlebug Design | Pencil Pumpkin Patch

Halloween is almost here!  I still haven't purchased candy.... but I have a cute project that would be a perfect little gift for the kids, friends or even for the classroom!  Take a peek...

How cute are these little pumpkin pencil toppers??  I used the 3 pumpkin SVGs from the Doodlebug Design Candy Carnival SVG files available in the Lori Whitlock SVG Shop.  I pieced them together using a combination of the Doodlebug Candy Carnival Collection and some Petite Prints.

I added a few of the spider stickers from the Candy Carnival Mini Icons Stickers to embellish.

The pumpkins are attached to the pencil by this little Pencil topper base that I created.   You could attach almost anything to the pencils using this, such as stickers from the Icons Sheet or Odds & Ends Pieces.  These would make great classroom gifts if you're looking for a candy-free alternative.  All you need are some cute pencils which you can get online or at your local craft or office supply store.  You can download the pencil topper base for free here.  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

Doodlebug Design | Candy Carnival Cut File Nugget Wraps

When my daughter was in grade school, I used to love making fun treats to send in to her class for Halloween.  I decided that this tradition didn't need to stop just because she is away at college.  This year I came up with these cute little Nugget Candy Holders using the Candy Carnival Cut files that are available in the Lori Whitlock SVG Shop.  Take a peek...

These little holders are really easy to make.  You start with a 4.5"x 1.5" strip of paper.  You then score it at 1.5", 2.5" and 4".

That allows you to fold it into a little triangle with a fold over flap.  A Nugget Candy fits perfectly in the bottom, and you can secure it in there with a glue dot.  All that was left was to decorate the front with one of the cute little cut files!

If you also would like to cover the candy bars themselves like I did in the first photo, just cut a 1" x 3" strip of coordinating paper and wrap it around the candy and secure with adhesive.  Have you made any projects using the new Candy Carnival Cut Files ?  Be sure to tag Doodlebug Design on Facebook and Instagram, we would love to see your creations!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

Lori Whitlock | Purr-fect Halloween Card

Only 15 more days until Halloween!!  Have you bought your candy yet?  I'm putting that off until last minute so I'm not tempted to sneak a few for myself!  I did make some Halloween Cards, including this "purr-fect" card... Lori Whitlock's Pop Up Box Card Halloween Cat (SVG, Silhouette).

All papers and embellishments are from Doodlebug Design's Candy Carnival and Petite Prints Collections.  I changed the design slightly... adding some green and pink papers behind the kitty's face and I also added some silly enamel dot eyes to the spider.  It's such a fun card, I can't wait to send it out!  Have you made any of  Lori's Halloween cards or projects?  Be sure to tag her on Facebook and Instagram, we would love to see your creations!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

Doodlebug Design | Candy Carnival Easel Card

Happy World Cardmaking Day! Are you creating today?  I’m celebrating with Doodlebug Design today!  It's October, that means cool weather, cider and pumpkin carving!  I don't have any littles at home anymore, but I still love to carve pumpkins.  Pumpkin guts aside, it's a fun activity!  My goal is to carve a pumpkin that is as cute as the little jack-o-lanterns on the Doodlebug Design Candy Carnival Icons Sticker Sheet... we will see how that goes this year! For now, I used cute little pumpkins to make an easel card for Halloween... take a peek...

I created a Silhouette Cut file for the base of this card, (you can download the file I created here) and pieced it together using some Petite prints and the Plaid side of the Prize Wheel paper. I just love the colors in the plaid!!!  I made a little pumpkin patch scene using stickers from the Icons Sheet and added a little spider web and spider at the top of the card.  The sentiment is from the Candy Carnival Chit Chat pieces.  The card actually folds flat to send along to a friend!  If you make any projects using Candy Carnival, be sure to tag Doodlebug Design on Facebook & Instagram.  We love to see what you create!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek.

Doodlebug Design | Candy Carnival Shadow Box Treat Bag

Halloween has always been one of my favorite holidays... I mean let's face it, any holiday that's centered around getting candy... how can you not love it??  Even more fun is candy in cute packaging.  The Doodlebug Design Candy Carnival Collection makes this easy!

How fun is this little shadow box treat bag?  I cut the bag from the Ring Toss Paper using a the Lawn Fawn Goodie Bag die.  I then cut a window in one side of the bag and covered it with acetate. I made a little scene using the pumpkins and moon from the Happy Halloween Stamp set and placed it behind the window using some foam tape to give it dimension.  All that was left was to fill the bag with some treats and tie it closed with some Doodle twine!  And of course I added the little spider stamp... Doodlebug spiders are the ONLY kind of spiders I like!
We would love to see your projects featuring Candy Carnival!  Be sure to tag Doodlebug Design on Facebook and Instagram!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

Doodlebug Design | Candy Carnival Shadow Box Card

I'm excited to be kicking off a few weeks of Doodlebug Design Candy Carnival inspiration!  If you haven't seen the collection yet, you're in for a treat!  The colors and adorable icons are sure to put a smile on your face!  I received my box and immediately dug in to create this fun Trick or Treat Shadow Box Card.  Take a peek...

The Odds & Ends are one of my all-time favorite Doodlebug embellishments.  They make it so easy to create cards and layouts.  I started with the little girl in the kitty costume and the black kitty Doodlepop... because black kitties are my favorite ... I added a night sky scene and some pumpkins along with the little bat sticker from the Icon Sticker Sheet to create a fun Halloween scene.  I finished it off with some of the Halloween Night Star shaped sprinkles and a sentiment from the Chit Chat pieces.

This collection has my mind in a whirl... so many projects, so little time!  I can't wait to create more!  Have you created anything with Candy Carnival?  Be sure to tag Doodlebug Design on Facebook and Instagram...we would love to see your projects!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

Doodlebug Design | Pumpkin Party Cut Files

Not long ago, my niece sent me this fabulous picture of my great-niece and great-niece-pup.  As soon as I saw it, I knew I was going to have to scrap it!  When I saw the new Pumpkin Party Cut files which are available in the Lori Whitlock SVG Shop and the Silhouette Store I was immediately inspired!  Take a peek...

That face!!!  Such personality!  I wanted the picture to be the focus so I enlarged it to be 9.5" x 9.5".  I backed it with some new Dot-Stripe Petite Prints in Mandarin and Lilac, and then with the Party Plaid Paper from the Pumpkin Party Collection.  I cut the Pumpkin Party - Pumpkins in a few different sizes from some Dot-Stripe and Floral-Graph Petite Prints in Mandarin.     Here's a hint to make the pumpkins look different... In addition to resizing them I also used the flip horizontally function in Silhouette to make the same file slightly different.

I also added the Web and spider from the Pumpkin Party Web Lantern file to the corner of my layout using some Beetle Black Dot Stripe Petite Prints.  I made the spider 3D by cutting two of the spiders, then cutting one so that it was just the body.  I then layered them with some foam tape between the layers for dimension.  The eyes are from the Eerie Eyes Shaped Sprinkles and the speech bubble is from the Pumpkin Party Chit Chats.

I finished off my layout with my title which was made from Tangerine Abigail and Teensy Type Alpha Stickers.  I love mixing fonts!  Have you created a project using the Pumpkin Party Collection or Cut Files?  Be sure to tag Doodlebug Design on Social Media so that we can see your creations!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

Doodlebug Design | Pumpkin Party Treat Box

I just love Halloween... it's such a fun time, and there is candy!! ( I have no will power...)  And what better way to package up a sweet treat than with some Pumpkin Party goodies!  I made this cute little house to hold some treats for a friend, take a peek...

I started with this file from Lori Whitlock for the house and tree shapes.  I constructed the house using the Midnight Masquerade and Party Plaid Papers.  I added some Dot-Stripe Petite Prints in Beetle BlackLilac and Citrus for the Tree, Roof and Trim.

Now for the fun part!  I embellished the house with goodies from the Icons Sticker Sheet and the Odds & Ends!  Here are some close-ups...

I just love that kitty!!!!

As a final touch I added one of the Silly Spiders Shaped Sprinkles to the chimney!

The bottom of the box opens up to hold some sweet treats!

Stop by the Doodlebug Design blog all of this week for more Pumpkin Party inspiration!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

Doodlebug Design: Booville Witch's Hat

Hi Everyone!  Today I have a fun project featuring the adorable Booville Collection from Doodlebug Design!    Halloween has always been a favorite of mine, I love the costumes, the decorations, and of course... the candy!  My girly is in college now, so no costume pictures for me, so I decided to make a fun Halloween centerpiece this year, take a peek...

As soon as I saw this Witches Hat cut file from Cre8tive Cuts, I knew I had to make it!  I decided to make it a centerpiece for our table this season.  I added a number of 3D and Rolled Flowers by Lori Whitlock and then set to decorating it with the adorable Booville embellishements!  Here are some close-ups...

I love Doodlebug Odds & Ends !!  They are such a fun way to embellish projects.  I especially love the acetate ones, like this ghost I used on the front of my hat.  I also added some Icons Cardstock Stickers, the kitty and the pumpkin.

I've said it before and I'll say it again... only Doodlebug can make a spider cute.  I love the little Silly Spiders Shaped Sprinkles.  I added them to the acetate spider web (which I cut in half)  from the Odds & Ends.  I also included a "mommy" spider from the Odds & Ends.

The adorable ghosts in the Booville Collection are one of my favorites.  I added one from the Odds & Ends and another baby ghost from the Sweet Spirits Doodlepops.

The Eye Candy Shaped Sprinkles are the perfect embellishment to have peeking out between the flowers!  The little bat is from the Cute Critters Mini Doodlepops.

The best part of this centerpiece... it's actually a box that you can fill with some sweet treats!

That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!
