Doodlebug Design | Candy Carnival Easel Card

Happy World Cardmaking Day! Are you creating today?  I’m celebrating with Doodlebug Design today!  It's October, that means cool weather, cider and pumpkin carving!  I don't have any littles at home anymore, but I still love to carve pumpkins.  Pumpkin guts aside, it's a fun activity!  My goal is to carve a pumpkin that is as cute as the little jack-o-lanterns on the Doodlebug Design Candy Carnival Icons Sticker Sheet... we will see how that goes this year! For now, I used cute little pumpkins to make an easel card for Halloween... take a peek...

I created a Silhouette Cut file for the base of this card, (you can download the file I created here) and pieced it together using some Petite prints and the Plaid side of the Prize Wheel paper. I just love the colors in the plaid!!!  I made a little pumpkin patch scene using stickers from the Icons Sheet and added a little spider web and spider at the top of the card.  The sentiment is from the Candy Carnival Chit Chat pieces.  The card actually folds flat to send along to a friend!  If you make any projects using Candy Carnival, be sure to tag Doodlebug Design on Facebook & Instagram.  We love to see what you create!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek.

Doodlebug Design: So Much Pun Cards

I can not pass on  a good pun... so when So Much Pun arrived, I dug right in!  My family thought I was crazy... they could hear me laughing from the other side of the house as I sorted through all of the funny puns!  I picked a few of my favorites and set to making some easel cards... take a peek...

As soon as I saw the adorable aliens in the So Much Pun Odds & Ends I thought of a saucer flying through the air.  I decided an easel card with an opening would be the best way to make this happen...

The stars on the Far Out Cardstock made the perfect backdrop. I attached the flying saucer with some monofilament thread so he looks like he's flying.  

I finished the card off with a cute little saying from the Chit Chat Pieces and those adorable sprinkle stars from the Out of This World Shaped Sprinkles.

My next card featured what I think might be my favorite icon from the whole collection... THE SLOTH!!!  He is just too stinking cute!

I stuck with the easel card design, but for this one, I opened both sides of the easel and added some grass and trees using the new Dot Stripe Rainbow Petite Prints 6x6 Pad to the back side of the easel to add dimension.  I think the Best I Ever Plaid paper is my favorite of the collection!  I finished the card with a few of the flowers from the Otterly Adorable Shaped Sprinkles.  Here is a close up...

My last card features another one of my favorite icons... the Otter!!!  I just love his sweet whiskers!  I also used the Dotty side of the Sweet Stuff Cardstock.

I created some waves using the bubble blue paper from the Dot Stripe Rainbow Petite Prints 6x6 Pad and had him float on them holding a Rainbow Heart Shaped Sprinkle.  To the back side of the Easel I added the Sun from the Odds & Ends and made a cloud with some Lily White Sprinkles Vellum.  Here is a close up...

All of these cards fold flat for mailing...

Doodlebug Design: Cream & Sugar Cards

Hi Everyone!  Today I have some fun cards I created using the fabulous Doodlebug Design Cream & Sugar Collection!  I have to say that this is one of my all time favorite collections.  The little coffee cups, the sugar cubes, the sweet treats... all just too cute!  Take a peek...

For my first card, I used the coffee cups from the Odds & Ends Package and the cute "punny" sentiment from the Cake Sprinkles Double Sided Cardstock .  The card base is from this cut file that I altered to fit my needs.  I like this card because it can be used for Valentine's Day or you could send it "just because."

My next card is a shaker card.  I just love shaker cards!!!  I started by cutting a heart shape in my base, then filling the shaker with some Doodlebug sequins and some X's and O's I cut out using my Silhouette.  The sweet candy hugs and kisses from the Odds & Ends pack and the Hugs & Kisses sentiment from the Cake Sprinkles Double Sided Cardstock topped it all off!

My last card I think is my favorite.  I love puns.  I use them liberally.  It makes my daughter roll here eyes.  So when this idea popped into my head, I couldn't resist.  I used the donut and the coffee cup from the Odds & Ends, and added some speech bubbles I made using the Booville Bubble Sayings cut file, and finished it with the Happy Valentine's Day sticker from the This & That Sticker Sheet.  The easel card base was made using this cut file.
