Doodlebug Design: Design by Color

Hi Everyone!  Today I have my color challenge project for Doodlebug Design!  I was lucky enough to get my all time favorite Doodlebug color.... Swimming Pool!!  Seriously, it's my most favorite color in the history of ever!  It makes me so happy!  Here's my layout, it's a throwback picture to 2006 of my daughter digging in the sand down on Cape Cod!

I used papers from a few collections including Happy Campers, SunKissed, Sugar Shoppe and some Sprinkles Vellum for my background.

The clouds are made using the Sizzix Doodlebug Cloud, Flower, Rain and Umbrella Die Set and some Lily White Sprinkles Vellum.

I LOVE the Fishy Doodlepop from the Happy Campers Collection!!

I also used a Swimming Pool Doily to back my photo and Swimming Pool Gingham Treat Bag as a holder for my journaling tag.  The stickers are from a few different collections including SunKissed, and some Swimming Pool Fancy Frills.  I love how it all turned out!  That's it for me today, make sure to stop by the Doodlebug Design blog this week for more Design by Color inspiration!

Doodlebug Design: Sunkissed Layout

Hi Everyone!  Today I have a layout featuring Doodlebug's BRAND NEW Sunkissed Collection!!  I fell in love with this collection the second I saw it!  It's perfect for summer & vacation projects.  It definitely made me long for warmer weather especially after a record breaking winter here in the Boston area!  Take a peek at my layout, this is the sunset over the Florida Keys... {sigh}

We took a fun sunset cruise from our hotel on Duck Key...it was beautiful! I thought the colors in the Sunkissed collection were perfect for this photo!  I printed the large format photo using the new Cannon Pixma that I won from My Craft Channel!

I'm longing to wear flip flops!!  These cuties were irresistible.  I embellished them with some Tangerine Glitter Sprinkles.

Finally, I die-cut a few fish using the Sunkissed papers, some matching Sprinkles Vellum and the Fish Set dies from Echo Park.  To complete them I added some Beetle Sprinkles for eyes.  That is it for me today!  Make sure to stop by the blog all this week and next to see more Sunkissed inspiration from the Design Team!  Thanks for stopping by!

The Twinery: Guest Designer for October

Hi Everyone, I'm back at The Twinery again as October Guest Designer.  This week I put together a fun Halloween card, take a peek!

I used some goodies from Doodlebug Design to piece together my card including some Sprinkles Vellum, some Chippers letters and of course the spider Doodlepop!  Only Doodlebug can make a spider cute!  To create my spider web, I placed a die-cut spider web behind my vellum & used it as a guide to glue down my Charcoal Striped Twinery Twine.  I love the way it turned out!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by!

A Summer Lawn Fawn Mini

Hi Everyone!  I wanted to share a fun mini album I created to showcase some pictures from my upcoming vacation!  We're heading to the Florida Keys later this summer and I wanted to have something ready to go to hold all the pictures I plan on taking!!  Take a peek!

I used mostly Lawn Fawn goodies, including the Life is Good stamps and dies and some Let's Polka papers.  I thought the colors were perfect for my tropical vacation!

The camera album shape was adapted from a Lori Whitlock shaker cut file found in the Silhouette store here.  The cloud is made from some Doodlebug Sprinkles vellum and the sequins are also from Doodlebug.  I'm not usually a stamper...but the Life is good stamps are just too cute!

For my inside pages, I used the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Journaling Card.  I kept them simple, just adding some stamped images and die cuts to each page.  I used some 4x6 album sleeves from We R to hold them.

I know I'll end up adding more pages as I go along, but the good thing is it's easy to do!  That's it for me today...I have lots of goodies in the works...will be updating again soon!!!  Thanks for stopping by!

Doodlebug Design: Sprinkles Vellum & a Couple of Free Cut Files

Hi Everyone..I have a couple of projects today that I created for the Doodlebug Blog using Doodlebug's Sprinkles Vellum.  I fell in love with this vellum the second I saw it!  It is the perfect special touch to any project!  My first project is a card I designed for my mom this past Mother's Day.

I used some MFT Dienamics to cut the Sprinkles Vellum to make the rolled roses and leafy flourish.   The colors of the vellum coordinated perfectly with the papers from the Sugar Shoppe collection!

For my second project I designed a fun cut file to create these little Sprinkles Vellum butterflies!

I love these pictures of my friend's puppy Rosie.  She is such a sweet girl!!  Here are some close-ups of the butterflies... again the Sprinkles Vellum colors coordinate perfectly with the Springtime collection!

And now for the fun part...I created a cut file for the butterflies and I have a tutorial on how to put them together here on the Doodlebug Blog.  You can download the file for the MOM card as well!
I hope you enjoy the cut files!  That's it for me today.  I'll be back tomorrow with a layout I created for Right at Home Scrapbooking!

Doodlebug Design: Sequins & a Cut File!

Hi Everyone, today I'm up on the Doodlebug Design Blog with a couple of projects featuring Doodlebug's Sequins!  I'm sharing one of them here today.  These sequins are just FABULOUS!  They come in 12 different color assortments!  Each jar contains multiple shades of each color.   I used the some Ladybug, Beetle and Bumblebee Sequins as "confetti" on my layout.  Take a peek...

LOVE this picture of my daughter and her good friend at Disney World last summer.  They had such a fun time meeting and greeting all the characters!  I used some Glossy Accents to adhere the sequins to my layout.  I thought the confetti was a fun addition to the Sprinkles Vellum Mouse Balloons I designed!

Here are some more close-ups of my layout...I used goodies from a number of Doodlebug collections to put it together including some Petite Prints and Sprinkles Vellum papers and stickers from Flower Box, Halloween Parade and Home for the Holidays.   I also used various Doodlebug Washi tapes and arrow sprinkles.  That is one of my favorite things about Doodlebug...everything coordinates!

Would you like to have the cut file for the Mouse Balloons?  Head on over to the Doodlebug Blog here and You can download it for free!  (file is in Studio3 format)  I hope you enjoy!  That's it for me today. I'll be back tomorrow with my second Doodlebug Sequins project.   Make sure to check the Doodlebug blog each day to get more design team inspiration!  Thanks for stopping by!

Doodlebug Design: The Graduates

Hi Everyone!  Today I have a fun layout using the new The Graduates Collection from Doodlebug Design!   This was the perfect collection to create my project celebrating my 25th (gulp) reunion from college!  You have to love the '80's big hair!  I should've taken stock in AquaNet!

The best thing about The Graduates is that you can customize it to go with almost any school color scheme!  I pulled out the gold and black pieces from the collection and added some maroon cardstock... perfect for Boston College!

The back drop for my title was created using some of the gold Sprinkles Vellum.  If you haven't tried it yet, it's wonderful and it cuts well using your electronic die cut machines!

I wanted to show off some more of the patterned papers so I added a little 3x4 card and filled in the circles with different papers.

For final accents I added some of the stickers from the Icon Sticker sheet and some of the new Graduation Star Sprinkles!  They're so sparkly! Make sure to head on over to the Doodlebug Blog to see more design team inspiration and to find out how you can win this collection for yourself!  Thanks for stopping by!

Creative Scrappers: Sketch 266 Reveal

Hi Everyone!  It's reveal day at Creative Scrappers for sketch 266.  Take a peek at this fun sketch!

I decided to turn the sketch to the left for my layout.  Here's my take:

This picture was taken last fall.  It's my parents, husband, daughter and I at a family party.  My mom used it for her Christmas card.  I thought that Bella Blvd's Family Forever was the perfect match to my picture!

The fun flair is from the Chic Tags April Kit.  The flowers were fussy cut from the Bella Blvd. Sunday Brunch Paper.

To complete my layout I created this fun butterfly using some new Ladybug Sprinkles Vellum from Doodlebug Design.  In place of the circles on the layout, I stitched some swirls using some Solid Midnight Blue Twine from The Twinery.

We'd love to see your take on this sketch!  Link up your creation and you could win a fun prize from our April Sponsor Scraptastic Club

Make sure to stop by the Creative Scrapper's Blog for more inspiration from the design team!  That's it for me today.  I'll be back tomorrow with a fun project for Paper Issues.  Thanks for stopping by!
