Doodlebug Design: Sprinkle Cards

I'm kicking off a couple of weeks of  projects focusing on embellishments on the Doodlebug Design Blog this week.  I have to admit, I have a hoarding issue when it comes to Doodlebug Sprinkles.  Original, Glitter, Shaped... I absolutely love them all and I make sure that every project I use them on is "sprinkle worthy."  So when the Design Team was challenged to feature Sprinkles and other embellishments I set out to come up with some very "worthy" projects... take a peek...

I love using sprinkles with Doodlebug's Cut Files, they are the perfect way to "dress" them up.  I started with the new Sweet Summer Strawberry Margarita SVG file from the Lori Whitlock SVG Shop for my first card. I used papers from the Gingham Linen Petite Prints, Down on the Farm and So Punny 6x6 Pads.  I added some Ladybug Glitter Sprinkles to the "dots" on the strawberries, some Cupcake and Bubblegum Glitter Sprinkles for the cheeks and some Beetle Black Sprinkles for the eyes. To finish it off I added a "sugared rim" to my margarita using some Lily White Chunky Glitter.

For my next card, I started with this SVG file for the card base.  I added a porthole circle to the front with some sprinkles "rivets" from the Black and White Assortment Glitter Sprinkles Pack.  I wanted it to look like my fish were floating so I cut the inserts for the card from transparency material.  For my under sea scene I used the Sea Weed SVG from the Under the Sea cut files, one of the Minnows Mini Doodle-pops and some Anchor's Aweigh and Under the Sea Shaped Sprinkles.

For my last card, I started with the Jar of Hearts SVG file from the Flea Market Collection to create a shaker card.  I added a few of this flower from the Easter Express collection. To embellish the flowers, I added the smallest sprinkles around the centers (Limeade Glitter Sprinkles, Bumblebee Glitter Sprinkles, Tangerine Glitter Sprinkles and Lily White Sprinkles.   I added some larger glitter sprinkles to my Jar for the "marbles" and finished it off with a Ladybug Shaped Sprinkle!  The sweet sentiment is a speech bubble from the So Punny This and That Sheet.  I cut off the tail, and punched a hole so I could tie it on with twine.

Be sure to stop by the Doodlebug blog over the next couple of weeks for more Embellishing ideas from the Design Team!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

Doodlebug Design: Unicorns and Rainbows

Hi Everyone, today on the Doodlebug Blog I have my take on the meme challenge.  Can I just say Unicorns, Rainbows and Glitter?  Here is the meme that inspired my layout, I've always loved this saying!!!

A couple of months ago, I met up with a scrappy friend for some shopping and lunch.  We happened upon some Unicorn party hats, and well, only a true friend will stand in the middle of a mall parking lot with you and take a selfie wearing unicorn horns!

Unicorns and rainbows, what could be better!  I used some Gingham Linen Petite Prints for my papers.  The title is written in letters from the Teensy Type Alpha Sheets.

Of course if we are talking unicorns and rainbows, there needs to be some sparkle, so I added some Doodlebug Sequins and some Glitter Sprinkles.

I finished things up with some word and heart stickers from a variety of different Doodlebug collections.  That is the beauty of Doodlebug... you can always find an embellishment to match!  That's it for me today, I hope that you all have a very Merry Christmas!

Doodlebug Design: Swiss Dots Petite Prints

Hi Everyone!  Today I have some fun Photo props I made using the new Swiss Dot Petite Prints from Doodlebug Design!   Every year I attend a the Crop on the Cape with a bunch of friends.  I thought it would be fun to bring along these props... let the photo taking begin!  The Swiss Dot Petite Prints were PERFECT for these... the colors are bright, fun & fabulous, and the dots add a little bit of whimsy! Take a peek...

Of course I needed mustaches and lips... I thought the frames would be fun too!  I backed the Swiss Dot Petite prints with some chipboard for a little more stability and added some wood dowels.  I had to add a Heart Sprinkles Shape to the lips!

I was able to talk my partner in crime (a.k.a. my daughter) into helping me showcase the props, because it wouldn't be quite as fun without a model!  Take a look at some more...

Lips and glasses, what is more fun??

I loved the camera shapes & speech bubbles I found, and thought they'd make some fun props as well...

I'm not sure I'm an angel, but the horns and halo will be popular, I'm sure!

And of course, crowns... because we like to think we are princesses...
Make sure to stop by the Doodlebug Blog all next week for more Swiss Dot Petite Prints inspiration, you'll be glad you did!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

Doodlebug Design : Polar Pals Collection

Hi Everyone!  Today I have a layout I created using the ADORABLE new Polar Pals Collection from Doodlebug Design!

I adore these pictures of the girls sledding at a local hill a few years ago... I was playing with the new lens Santa brought me for Christmas, I love how I was able to capture all the action!  The colors and embellishments in Polar pals are perfect for winter activities!

There are all sorts of snowflakes in the collection, and I used them all, from the big snowflakes in the Snowflakes Craft Kit, to the Frosty Flurry Mini doodle-pops to the Winter Snowflakes Sprinkle Shapes... they are all so much fun!

I also love the stickers on the This and That Sticker Sheet... especially the speech bubbles and the  little word stickers, they are so much fun to cluster!

My favorite by far are the little Doodlebug Snowmen and critters!!  I HAD to use the Sweet Snowman doodle-pop... he is just so cute!  The little penguin sticker is from the Icon Sticker Sheet, he comes in a few different colors and his rosy cheeks make me smile!

That's it for me today, make sure stop by the Doodlebug Blog every day this week for more Polar Pals Inspiration!  Thanks for stopping by to peek!

Doodlebug Design: Design by Color

Hi Everyone!  Today I have my color challenge project for Doodlebug Design!  I was lucky enough to get my all time favorite Doodlebug color.... Swimming Pool!!  Seriously, it's my most favorite color in the history of ever!  It makes me so happy!  Here's my layout, it's a throwback picture to 2006 of my daughter digging in the sand down on Cape Cod!

I used papers from a few collections including Happy Campers, SunKissed, Sugar Shoppe and some Sprinkles Vellum for my background.

The clouds are made using the Sizzix Doodlebug Cloud, Flower, Rain and Umbrella Die Set and some Lily White Sprinkles Vellum.

I LOVE the Fishy Doodlepop from the Happy Campers Collection!!

I also used a Swimming Pool Doily to back my photo and Swimming Pool Gingham Treat Bag as a holder for my journaling tag.  The stickers are from a few different collections including SunKissed, and some Swimming Pool Fancy Frills.  I love how it all turned out!  That's it for me today, make sure to stop by the Doodlebug Design blog this week for more Design by Color inspiration!
