Lori Whitlock: Paper Succulents

Hi Everyone!  Today I have a fun project I created for the Lori Whitlock DT.  I made a fun trio of succulents using the new Cactus and Succulent files available in the Lori Whitlock SVG Shop and also in the Silhouette Store.  Take a peek...

Finally, plants even I can't kill!  I put these together using some papers from Doodlebug Design's Spring Things and Gingham Linen Petite Prints collections.  Here are some close-ups...

I can't wait to add these to the decorations in my craft room!  For a full assembly tutorial, and links to the files in both the Lori Whitlock SVG Shop and the Silhouette Store, stop by Lori Whitlock's Blog here.  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

Doodlebug Design: Inspired by

Hi Everyone!  The Doodlebug Design Team was challenged to find a project on the Doodlebug Pinterest Boards that inspired us, and to create a project based on that pin.  It was tough to narrow it down to just one project, but I found this beautiful layout by Melinda Spinks and had to scraplift it!
What immediately caught my eye were Melinda's washi tape flowers...such a clever idea! Here is my version of her layout.....

To make the layout my own, I went more bold with the colors, using some fun papers from the new Hello Sunshine collection, and lots of bright Swiss Dot Washi tapes.

To create the flowers, I covered pieces of Lily White Cardstock with the different tapes.  I then ran them through my Big Shot using some MFT Dienamics to create the flower shapes.

I finished the flowers with some washi centers, and a few Bright Glitter Sprinkles.  It was such a fun layout to put together!  I love how similar and different the two layouts turned out!  That's it for me today! Make sure to stop by the Doodlebug Blog for more "inspired by" projects this week...you won't be disappointed!

Doodlebug Design: Washi Tape Cards

Hi Everyone!  Today I have some fun cards I made featuring Doodlebug's Washi Tapes.  I must admit, I have a bit of a hoarding problem when it comes to Washi...I can't resist it!  Take a peek...

For my first card, I used some Swiss Dot Washi Tapes to create a banner rainbow.  I first put the tape on some Lily White Cardstock, then cut the banner pieces to make the colors pop a bit more.

My next card was really simple to put together.  I folded some Washi over a piece of Doodlebug Twine, and trimmed to make banner pieces.

Finally,  I made some Washi Tape flowers by first covering some Lily White Cardstock with the different Washi Tapes, and then running them through my Big Shot with some MFT Dienamics Flower dies.

Some bright and cheery cards to warm me up for these very snowy winter days!  Make sure to stop by the Doodlebug Blog over the next couple of weeks for more Washi Tape inspiration!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by!

Paper Issues: NYC Selfies

Hi Everyone, I have a fun layout today created for the current issue at Paper Issues, "Hip to Be Square," sponsored by A Flair for Buttons.  In keeping with the theme, I used square photos...take a peek:

These silly pics are from a recent trip to NYC for a gymnastics competition.  My daughter and I couldn't resist a few selfies.  I used a combination of Scattered Sprinkles and Daily Chevies from Bella Blvd. to create this layout.  I also used some Bella Decorative Tapes to create my cityscape.

Here are some more close-ups...

There is still time to link up your projects to this issue to win a fun prize pack from A Flair for buttons.  You have until midnight Sunday to play along!  That's it for me today, I'll be back tomorrow with some fun Easter-themed treats I created for Doodlebug Design!  Thanks for stopping by!

Doodlebug Designs: Inspired by Project

Hi Everyone...I have a Doodlebug "Inspired by:" project today.  The ladies of the Doodlebug DT were asked to find a project done by a past or present Doodlebug DT member and to create a project inspired by it.  Honestly this was a tough task...there have been so many inspiring projects!  After pouring through my Doodlebug pins I found a beautiful layout by current DT member Melinda Spinks.  It truly is one of my all time favorite layouts!  First, here is my "inspired" layoutR

( I LOVE this quote from the book Mathilda by Roald Dahl! ) And here is Melinda's Original....just lovely!!!!

I love the Lily White background and the use of washi for color,  along with the black and white photo on Melinda's layout . And I must say the stitching on the Washi Tape is inspired!  I chose to use all of these elements on my layout.  Below is my stitching on the Swiss Dot Washi using some white Doodle Twine.

In place of Melinda's flower brads, I created some flowers using Doodlebug Sequins and some White Sprinkles.

That's it for me ...be sure to check out the Doodlebug Blog to see what the other DT members have created.  I'm sure you will be doubly inspired!  Thanks for stopping by today!

Paper Issues: Mix Tape Issue

Hi Everyone...eek, it's been about two weeks since I last blogged!!!  I've been away on vacation and then trying to catch up with everything, my poor blog has been neglected!  I have been crafty during this time though, and one of the projects I created is a fun card for the Mix Tape Issue over at Paper Issues.   Take a peek:

I used a Lori Whitlock Silhouette file for my card...just changed it around a bit to be horizontal rather than a vertical design.  As for the Issue, I took the challenge pretty literally...and used a mix of Doodelbug Washi tapes to create a background for my cut-out hearts.

Make sure to head over to the Paper Issues Blog to see how the Design Team interpreted this issue!  Link up your projects (and be sure to link back to Paper Issues!!) by August 17th and you could win a prize pack from our sponsor Hazel and Ruby!!!  You might also find your project featured on the Paper Issues Blog, Facebook or Instagram!!!  That's it for me today.  I 'll be back soon!  Thanks for stopping by!

Doodlebug Design: Sequins & a Cut File!

Hi Everyone, today I'm up on the Doodlebug Design Blog with a couple of projects featuring Doodlebug's Sequins!  I'm sharing one of them here today.  These sequins are just FABULOUS!  They come in 12 different color assortments!  Each jar contains multiple shades of each color.   I used the some Ladybug, Beetle and Bumblebee Sequins as "confetti" on my layout.  Take a peek...

LOVE this picture of my daughter and her good friend at Disney World last summer.  They had such a fun time meeting and greeting all the characters!  I used some Glossy Accents to adhere the sequins to my layout.  I thought the confetti was a fun addition to the Sprinkles Vellum Mouse Balloons I designed!

Here are some more close-ups of my layout...I used goodies from a number of Doodlebug collections to put it together including some Petite Prints and Sprinkles Vellum papers and stickers from Flower Box, Halloween Parade and Home for the Holidays.   I also used various Doodlebug Washi tapes and arrow sprinkles.  That is one of my favorite things about Doodlebug...everything coordinates!

Would you like to have the cut file for the Mouse Balloons?  Head on over to the Doodlebug Blog here and You can download it for free!  (file is in Studio3 format)  I hope you enjoy!  That's it for me today. I'll be back tomorrow with my second Doodlebug Sequins project.   Make sure to check the Doodlebug blog each day to get more design team inspiration!  Thanks for stopping by!
