Doodlebug Design: Inspired by

Hi Everyone!  The Doodlebug Design Team was challenged to find a project on the Doodlebug Pinterest Boards that inspired us, and to create a project based on that pin.  It was tough to narrow it down to just one project, but I found this beautiful layout by Melinda Spinks and had to scraplift it!
What immediately caught my eye were Melinda's washi tape flowers...such a clever idea! Here is my version of her layout.....

To make the layout my own, I went more bold with the colors, using some fun papers from the new Hello Sunshine collection, and lots of bright Swiss Dot Washi tapes.

To create the flowers, I covered pieces of Lily White Cardstock with the different tapes.  I then ran them through my Big Shot using some MFT Dienamics to create the flower shapes.

I finished the flowers with some washi centers, and a few Bright Glitter Sprinkles.  It was such a fun layout to put together!  I love how similar and different the two layouts turned out!  That's it for me today! Make sure to stop by the Doodlebug Blog for more "inspired by" projects this week...you won't be disappointed!

Doodlebug Design: Washi Tape Cards

Hi Everyone!  Today I have some fun cards I made featuring Doodlebug's Washi Tapes.  I must admit, I have a bit of a hoarding problem when it comes to Washi...I can't resist it!  Take a peek...

For my first card, I used some Swiss Dot Washi Tapes to create a banner rainbow.  I first put the tape on some Lily White Cardstock, then cut the banner pieces to make the colors pop a bit more.

My next card was really simple to put together.  I folded some Washi over a piece of Doodlebug Twine, and trimmed to make banner pieces.

Finally,  I made some Washi Tape flowers by first covering some Lily White Cardstock with the different Washi Tapes, and then running them through my Big Shot with some MFT Dienamics Flower dies.

Some bright and cheery cards to warm me up for these very snowy winter days!  Make sure to stop by the Doodlebug Blog over the next couple of weeks for more Washi Tape inspiration!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by!

Right at Home Scrapbooking: Fabulous

Hi Everyone...I have a fun layout today I created using the May Mood Board from Right at Home Scrapbooking...take a peek at the board:

And here's my layout... some fun "strike a pose" pics of my daughter and her good friend before their sophomore semi formal ring dance.

I used some My Mind's Eye Cut and Paste papers for my layout...the colors were perfect!  My triangle background was inspired by a PL card created by Nicole from Right at Home.  I cut them using the Jumbo Banner Day Stax from MFT, and stitched them down for some texture.

I added some cut tags cut with my Silhouette.  The Totes Adorbs stamps are from Paper Smooches Slang Gang stamps.

I love this new lace tape from Maya Road...so pretty!  That's it for me today, I'll be back with a layout for the It's a Plan Class at Right at Home and a fun card I created for Paper Issues.  Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Birthday!!

I would like to wish my hubby Ed a very Happy Birthday today!!!!  I decided to make him a cute little box card using some Doodlebug Kraft in Color goodies and a fun cut file from Lori Whitlock...here's what I came up with:

This is a very masculine color scheme for me!!  I'm used to pinks!!  The Doodlebug papers make it easy though!  The cut file comes with all sorts of cute goodies! I added a few extra details...first, the #happybirthday stamp and the label die are from MFT...

I also decided to add some sparkle using the new Doodlebug sequins.  The jars of sequins are awesome...they have variety of hues for each color!  I also used some of the chunky Doodlebug Sugar Coated glitter to frost my cake and for the candle flame.

I hope he likes it!!  (he's at work, and won't see this post....) And now he's officially older than I am for a whole 3 months!!!

Using my Silhouette, I created stitch holes for the hearts on the background paper.  I stitched them with some Honeydew Solid Twine from The Twinery.  The Say Cheese stamp and speech bubble die are from MFT.

That's it for today...busy working on LOTs of projects!  I'll have some new Doodlebug goodies soon featuring their new collections from CHA!!!!  Thanks for stopping by!

A Little Paradise

Hi Everyone, I have a fun travel-themed layout today that I created for Layouts and Lemonade at Right at Home Scrapbooking.  I'm not a project lifer, but I really love a lot of the elements that it incorporates, so I decided to take those things and put them on a layout.  These pictures are some of my favorites from our trip to Key West last April.

I used Studio Calico's Atlantic Collection and tons of MFT Dienamics.  I LOVE the new Laina Lamb World Traveler Dienamics...they are just so cute!

Makes me want to go back NOW!!!  That's all for today...thanks for stopping by!

Girl Friends

Hi Everyone,
I have a fun layout today that I created as a make and take for Right at Home Scrapbooking's Layouts and Lemonade.   I got to play with some Little Yellow Bicycle Fern and Forrest Girl, some MFT Die namcics and some Silhouette cut files. Take a peek:

These pictures are from quite a few years ago!  We went with some friends to the Captain's House Inn in Chatham, MA for a formal tea.  It really was a fun time!

The tags, mesh background, and hearts were all cut using MFT Die namics.  The frames and flowers are from the Silhouette Store.

If you're local and interested, Layouts and Lemonade is held a few times a month at Right at Home Scrapbooking.  You pick from a few different layouts created by our designers and sit and create right there!  Make sure to check the store calendar for the next Layouts and Lemonade day.  Thanks for stopping by!!

A Birthday Celebration

Hi Everyone... I had a fun time putting together this month's MFT & Friends Workshop project for Right at Home Scrapbooking.  I got to play with some papers from Bella Blvd, and some of the new birthday themed Die namics from MFT.

These pictures are from my daughter's 15th Birthday a couple of weeks ago.  We celebrated with Birthday pancakes and a dinner at PF Chang's!  I started out with some MFT InstaFrames as a base for my layout and had some fun with the new Birthday dies.

I used the new Party Balloon Dies to decorate one frame, and dressed it a bit more with some new solid twines from the Twinery.

The Jumbo Party hat is really fun...especially all of the confetti bits that come with it!

I finished up with the new Bitty Banner Dies and the new Big numbers.  I also used the Washi Tape dies to "adhere" my photo frames.  A few "splops" of Mr. Huey's and done!  This month's MFT & Friends Workshop will be held on Sunday, August 11th at 12:00 at Right at Home Scrapbooking.  If you're local and would like to join us, please call the store to reserve your spot!  Thanks for stopping by!

MFT & Friends July Layout

Just a quick post before I head off to teach the MFT & Friends Workshop at Right at Home Scrapbooking.  This month we're playing with some Echo Park Happy Camper and the new MFT Triangle Die namics.

This picture makes me laugh every time I see it.  Yes, that is me, circa 1974 fishing at my grandmother's pond with my pocket fisherman... I can here the K-tel infomercial now.... (If you've never seen it, or are just too young...here's the original commercial.)

I used the MFT Triangle Die namics to create my fish.  Who knew you could put sequins on a fishing layout and have it "work?"

I "tied" it all together with some fishing line and a hook created using the new Solid Honeydew and Solid Cappuccino twines from The Twinery.  OK, I'm done with the puns now.  I'll be back later this week with some more layouts...off to teach!  Thanks for stopping by.

MFT & Friends Layout for June

I had a lot of fun putting together June's MFT & Friends Layout for Right at Home Scrapbooking.  First, this picture makes me smile...yes that's me and my dad circa 1971 on one of our many camping trips.  (and for once, it wasn't raining....)

I also LOVE the Park Bench collection from Fancy Pants.  Grey, yellow, blue and black is a favorite color combo!

Finally, I got to use my new Feather and Arrow MFT Die namics!  I have to admit, I did not jump right on the feather trend bandwagon...but these dies are just too cute to resist.  I further embellished them with a little line of stitching up the center.

And to give it a more summery feel...because that's what we're craving around here these days, I added some of the MFT Cloud Stax and Sun.  This month's MFT & Friends Workshop will be held at Right at Home Scrapbooking on Saturday, June 8th at 10:15am.  If you're local, and interested, be sure to call the store to reserve your spot!!

MFT & Friends - May

Happy National Scrapbooking Day!!!  I'll be spending the day with some fun ladies cropping the day away...or at least a little during all the chatting.  I wanted to share the layout I created for this month's MFT & Friends Workshop at Right at Home Scrapbooking.  I got to play with the fun Darling Dear from Studio Calico and tons of MFT Die namics!

I recently got a huge craft desk for my craft room...5'square!  My daughter and her friend decided it was also the modern day equivalent of the couch cushion and blanket fort.  They hung out under the desk for hours.

I was excited to use the new Reel Life Die namic.. it's just so cute and trendy!!  I also used the Story Starters Die namic and the Right this way stamp set.

The Cute Cameras Die namics are my FAVORITE...just so cute!  That's it for today...thanks so much for stopping by and I hope that you're doing something creative today!
