New Flair from Toni From Designs!!!

Hi Everyone!  Today I have a fun post featuring the new flair from Toni From Designs!  I design with Toni over at Paper Issues and was THRILLED when she asked if I would showcase some of her new flair!  I chose the Back to School Set to use on my layout of my daughter's first day of Junior Year.  Take a peek:

In addition to Toni's Flair, I used Lawn Fawn's Sweater Weather, Lawn Fawn Dies & Stamps, and some tags from Elle's Studio & Chic Tags.  I also used some of Doodlebug's new mini paperclips and gold stars from Studio Calico.  I love how it all came together color-wise!  Here are some close-ups of the flair pieces...

I had such a fun time with this one!

And here's the whole Back to School Flair Set...

You should definitely check out Toni's new shop over at Etsy. (here)  She's going to be releasing new flair every Monday!!!  You can check out these releases on all of her social media outlets including her blog, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest & Facebook!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by!

Creative Scrappers: Sketch 268 Reveal

It's reveal day over at Creative Scrappers!  We got to work with this really fun sketch by Jenny Evans...

Here's my take on the sketch.  I really stuck right with it...  just added some stitching and embellies around the edge.  I used lots of goodies from Simple Stories including elements from the new Sn@p! Cat collection and some papers from the Daily Grind Collection. The arrow sprinkles are from Doodlebug.

The thing I liked most about this sketch is that it begged for embellishment clusters!  I used some goodies from the Sn@p! Cat 3x4 cards, Insta squares and pieces and stickers and added in some fun goodies from my stash.

The & clip is from Maya Road.  I've had them for a while now...so happy to be able to use one!

I found this cute little badge button from Evalicious in my stash...the color was perfect!  Make sure to head on over to the Creative Scrapper's blog to see what the rest of the Design Team created!  Also, be sure to link up your take on this sketch and you could win a prize from our May Sponsor My Creative Scrapbook!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by!

30gratefuldays Mini Album

Hi Everyone...well I did it!  I completed my #30gratefuldays mini album for Paper Issues!  If you're not familiar, Paper Issues asked their Instagram followers to post pictures each day of November of something they were grateful for and tag it #30gratefuldays.  The response was huge!  I decided to put my pictures in a little 4x6 mini.

To make this an easy project, I made myself follow some guidelines.  First, I could only use one collection...Jillibean Soup's Cold Avocado Soup.. along with just a few coordinating embellishments such as washi, twine, doilies, sequins and clips.  Second, I printed 30 project life sketches I got from the Citrus Twist blog... I had to use them in order.  This prevented me from agonizing over every little detail and it really made it such an easy project to complete!  I may try this again for something like a December Daily.  Here are all the inside pages. (click on the picture for a closer view)

I love how it turned out!  That's it for today...I'll be back soon with some layouts for Paper Issues!  Thanks for stopping by.

Feathers!

Hi Everyone, I have a fun card up over at The Twinery today.  I actually made feathers from some of our Solid Twines!  It took me a long time to jump on the feather bandwagon...but now I think I'm here to stay!  Take a peek:

These look hard, but they're really pretty easy to make...just takes some time.  I started by wrapping a piece of fabric covered floral wire with the twine, gluing both ends to secure. (I used some Mandarin, Marigold and Maraschino)  I then tied 3" pieces of twine, starting about 2" from the bottom...all the way to the top.  Once that's done, you spray the feather with fabric stiffener, and play with it until it's shaped like a feather.  Just let it dry on a piece of wax paper and done!  To see a complete tutorial...you can go here.

I used some neutral papers from Studio Calico for the background...I really wanted the feathers to stand out.  A few sequins and a wooden heart and done!  This card is serving double duty as well... we started a new "Grateful for You" Issue over at Paper Issues yesterday...link up your projects to win a $20 PI Gift Card!!!  Good for anything in the store, even some fab Twinery Twine! That's it for today...thanks for stopping by!

Play with me!

I have a new layout today for Paper Issues.  I got to play with some fun new Studio Calico Printshop and some gorgeous Heidi Swapp Color Shine Spray!  My layout was inspired by a sketch by PI Alum Ashley Horton.  Take a peek:

This picture makes me laugh every time I look at it.  It's my kitty Daisy who was determined to get between me and my laptop.  She just wouldn't give up!  I used a couple of my favorite papers from Printshop... and the wood veneer stars.  I colored them with some Teal Color Shine.  I love the shimmer!

I also used some Color Shine on my background along with some Studio Calico sequins. The paw print washi is from Queen & Co.  That's all for today, I'll be back soon with some fall and (gasp....) Christmas projects!  Thanks for stopping by!

Fallin' For You!

We have a new Issue over at Paper Issues today, Fallin' for You, sponsored by Ruby Rock-it!  The theme can be fall, wedding...or anything related.  I got a huge package of goodies from the Ruby Rock-it's At Last collection.  Since it's been a while since I got married (21 years!!) I decided to scrap a picture of my newlywed cousin and her hubby...the cutest couple I know.  They just celebrated their first anniversary!  Take a peek:

I based my layout on Sketch 253 from Creative Scrappers.  The papers in the At Last collection are really pretty...a combination of peach, aqua and grey...very soft.  I decided they'd look best with a black and white photo, so I converted the picture.  The doily was cut from one of the papers in the collection using my Silhouette.

I think my favorite items in the collection were these chipboard feathers from the package of wedding die cuts. As soon as I saw them I had to use them!

The "to have and to hold" is also from the die cuts package.  The collection also has a selection of glitter borders that are a lot of fun.  I used one behind my picture and the other along the bottom of the page.

I cut the title using my Silhouette as well.  The only items I added were some coordinating Studio Calico sequins.  The "Fallin' For You" Issue will run through November 10th. Be sure to link up any wedding or fall themed projects here, and you could win a prize pack full of Ruby Rock-it's "At Last" collection.   Thanks for stopping by and I can't wait to see what you create!

Hi Everyone..I'm here today with my take on The Twinery's latest Challenge "In the Round."  The challenge is to use baker's twine and circles of some sort to create a fun project to win a great prize!

Here's the layout I created.  It's based on Creative Scrappers Sketch 251 and features my "Soft Kitty" Rosie. I used the new My Mind's Eye Cut and Paste Adorbs Collection.

I incorporated a number of circles into my layout, including these stitched spirals using Solid Honeydew, Solid Denim and Solid Strawberry Twine. .  I also used a number of "circle" embellishments like the Adorbs enamel dots and buttons and the adorable polka dot washi.

The wood heart veneers are from Studio Calico and the adorable Heart Clip is from Allison Kreft Recorded Collection.

There are still a couple of days left in the challenge!!  We'd love for you to play along and we cannot wait to see what you create!  Just use twine and a "circle" pattern of some sort and you can enter to win our fabulous prize...

A Project Life-like Layout

I have another Bella Blvd. Layout today...featuring some fun pictures taken at the Taylor Swift concert this past summer.  Every year she comes to Gillette Stadium, and every year we go!  This year was her "RED" Tour... the girls dressed accordingly.

I'm not a Project Lifer...but I really like a lot of the elements used in PL.  I thought it would be fun to incorporate the 3x4 card concept into a layout.  I used the Bella Blvd. All American Collection mostly for this project, along with a few things from their Sophisticates line.

The little word stickers included with all the Bella Blvd. collections are perfect for Project Life!

I love the little crochet hearts and the Bella Washi !! That's it for today...I'll be back with a couple of projects this week for The Twinery and Paper Issues!  Thanks for stopping by!

A Little Paradise

Hi Everyone, I have a fun travel-themed layout today that I created for Layouts and Lemonade at Right at Home Scrapbooking.  I'm not a project lifer, but I really love a lot of the elements that it incorporates, so I decided to take those things and put them on a layout.  These pictures are some of my favorites from our trip to Key West last April.

I used Studio Calico's Atlantic Collection and tons of MFT Dienamics.  I LOVE the new Laina Lamb World Traveler Dienamics...they are just so cute!

Makes me want to go back NOW!!!  That's all for today...thanks for stopping by!

Sketch "Issues"

Yes, I have Sketch Issues and so does the whole Paper Issues Team!  Our latest issue is a sketch from Simple Scrapper.  Here's the sketch:

And here's my take on it...I kept everything pretty much as is with the sketch...it was perfect the way it was!!  I created this layout as a gift to my daughter's friend.  She's leaving for college next week and these pictures are of her and her boyfriend in Maine this summer.

I used Crate Paper's The Pier for most of my goodies.  I love the slide frames!  They're perfect for those Instagram pictures!

The cork heart is from Fancy Pants.

And the wood pieces are from Studio Calico.

I put the whole thing in a nice frame, all set for the new dorm room. ( Love you Brooke xoxo.)  Be sure to link up your take on the sketch here.  You could win some great prizes.  Thanks for stopping by today!
