I used Crate Paper's Wonder collection for this one.  I love the colors and embellishments!  Anything with kitties is right up my alley!  Here are some more close-ups.

There is still time to join in the fun over in the Paper Issues Friends and Fans Facebook Group.  Take a peek at the Fall Crop Challenge album and post your projects there by November 14th and you could win a $100 Gift Card to the Paper Issues Store.  See the  Rules and Regulations for all the details.  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by!

Sketch "Issues"

Yes, I have Sketch Issues and so does the whole Paper Issues Team!  Our latest issue is a sketch from Simple Scrapper.  Here's the sketch:

And here's my take on it...I kept everything pretty much as is with the sketch...it was perfect the way it was!!  I created this layout as a gift to my daughter's friend.  She's leaving for college next week and these pictures are of her and her boyfriend in Maine this summer.

I used Crate Paper's The Pier for most of my goodies.  I love the slide frames!  They're perfect for those Instagram pictures!

The cork heart is from Fancy Pants.

And the wood pieces are from Studio Calico.

I put the whole thing in a nice frame, all set for the new dorm room. ( Love you Brooke xoxo.)  Be sure to link up your take on the sketch here.  You could win some great prizes.  Thanks for stopping by today!

One Fine Day & Some Happy News

Hi Everyone...just a quick post to show you a layout I created using my take-home kit from the Layout Workshop at Right at Home Scrapbooking.  I got to play with some Crate Paper Acorn Avenue.  Here's what I came up with:

I just love these pictures from back in 2005.  The one on the left was our Christmas card pic that year.  We got a Mr. Huey's Mint Julep mist in our kit, and I used in a few ways...first I splattered some on my background.  I also used it to color some Studio Calico wood veneer arrows and also to color my LYB burlap letters in my title.

The  little clips from Studio Calico are a favorite and used one of my birdies to hold my picture perfect label.  That stamp sentiment is from Lawn Fawn.  I found these Prima flowers when I was purging the craft room.  I have NO idea when I got them, but I thought the colors were perfect for my layout.

That's it for today... Now for my happy news.  I'm excited to finally be able to announce that I'll be part of the Paper Issues Design Team!!!

Such a fun group of ladies, and there are a lot of fun Issues planned!  If you're not familiar with Paper Issues, be sure to stop by the blog to check things out!  I'll be back on Friday as part of the Blog hop with The Twinery and Imaginisce!  Thanks for stopping by!

Book Buddies

I think it's so cute that our kitty Rosie must be where ever my daughter is.  When she comes home from school, Rosie runs down to her bedroom to do "homework" with her.  (This usually consists of kitty head butts and tummy scratches.)  She even likes to lie on the desk when my daughter is using her laptop.  It's too funny.

These pictures of the two of them are typical...My daughter curled up with her Nook and Rosie right there with her. (yes, she is extra fluffy....and looks like a blanket!)

I based my layout on a sketch from Kristine Davidson's new book Creating With Sketches Volume 2. (page 44).  If you haven't ordered yours yet, you should!  It's really an awesome book.  I pretty much followed the sketch.  I used Crate Paper's Fourteen collection.  This has been one of my favorites this year.  I started by "splopping" some Mister Huey's on my background page.  I love how opaque the colors are!

I cut some arrow shapes from my background paper and backed them with another coordinating paper.  I love this technique...it really adds dimension to a project.

The banner was created by fussy-cutting some banner shapes from one of the papers, and stitching a zig-zag stitch along the top.  The chipboard shapes are also from the Fourteen collection.  That's it for today...I'll be back with more projects soon including one for The Twinery's Banner Day Challenge.  Thanks for looking!

Adore You

Today I have a layout I created for the design team over at Right at Home Scrapbooking.  I got to play with some gorgeous papers from the Crate Paper Fourteen collection.  I really love the colors.  I thought they coordinated perfectly with this picture of my daughter.  It was our Christmas card picture this past year.

I splattered the background (and the front of my sweater, and the table on the porch...) with some studio paints.  I love the big "sploppy" look.. just not on my clothes!   The black doily shapes are rub-ons from KaiserCraft, and I added the cute heart doily from my stash.

The arrows and the XOXO's were cut from my Silhouette.  I also did some "negative" space embellishing by cutting the grey paper with some MFT hearts. I used some washi tape from Bella Blvd. and Lawn Fawn to add splashes of deep color.

The title was also cut using my Silhouette.  I can not say enough about how I love this machine!  That's it for today.  I'll be back soon with my latest for Creative Scrappers.  Thanks for stopping by and I appreciate your comments!

Valentine's Treat Box

Today I have a fun hanging heart treat box that I created for the DT at Right at Home Scrapbooking. Take a peek:

I found the cute hanging heart box over on the Lori Whitlock site.  She has a ton of great SVG files!  The papers I used are from Crate Paper's new Fourteen collection.  I just love the muted colors and fun patterns.

I decorated the box with a few more cut files I got from the Silhouette store.  I still cannot say how much I LOVE my Cameo...and I know I've only scratched the surface with it!

The box shape includes two flaps that tab together to keep the goodies inside.  I created the handle by braiding some Twinery Twine in Stone, Blossom and Strawberry.

And what did I fill my hugs and kisses box with?  Hugs and Kisses of course....now the only problem is not eating the remaining Hugs and Kisses....I have no will power when it comes to chocolate.

I'll be back Sunday with the latest from Creative Scrappers.  Thanks for stopping by and I'd love to know what you think!

MFT Fan Club at RAH

Not sure how I did it, but I managed to complete the layout for the MFT Fan Club at Right at Home. I based the layout on sketch 186 from Creative Scrappers. Take a peek!

I used Crate Paper's Portrait Collection and some of the latest MFT Die namics including By the Letter and Fringed Perennial.

OK, no more playing... I'm off to wrap all the presents! Have a wonderful Christmas!

Crate Paper at RAH

I got to play with some Crate Paper Farmhouse at Right at Home this month... perfect for fall themed pictures! Here's what I came up with.

I based this layout on a sketch by Frances Sylvia. The picture is of my daughter and friend apple picking at Dowses' Orchard in Sherborn, MA. I finally got to use my apple Whimsy pin!

I loved the fan fold flower embellies that are part of the Farmhouse Collection.

For the journalling, I stitched lines on a tag.

My next layout was based on Creative Scrappers Sketch 182. The picture is from the same day, we went to their farm stand store. Loved the pumpkins!

I cut the leaves on my Cricut using files from SVG Cuts and added a cute little acorn Whimsy.

That's all for today... I'll be back soon with some December Projects!
