Creative Scrappers Sketch 242

Happy New Year everyone...I'm back with the first Creative Scrappers Sketch of 2013...Sketch 242.  It's a really fun sketch by Kiki Halbert.  Take a peek:

And here's my take on her awesome sketch...

As soon as I saw this sketch, I though of the "Little Moments Lane" paper from Dear Lizzy's 5th and Frolic collection with the cute little Polaroid frames. I fussy cut them to add some funny pictures from this year's Homecoming and attached them with some Bella Blvd. washi tape.

I got to play with my new Silhouette Cameo for this layout and cut both the title and this fun heart outline.  I also got to use some badge flair from Evalicious.

I'm very much into hidden journaling cards these days...I don't love my handwriting so it's a good way to document without seeing my scribbles!  I used one of Evalicious' new stamps to title the card, and topped it off with some Strawberry Twinery Twine.

The little Whimsy Camera was the perfect way to complete my layout... I think these are my all-time favorite Whimsies!!!!  That's it for today... I'll be back very soon with some more projects... I have a very busy January DT schedule!  Stay warm!

Creative Scrappers Sketch #238

Hi Everyone, I hope you are all enjoying your weekend!  I'm back today with Creative Scrappers Sketch #238 by Juliana Michaels.  This was such a fun sketch to work with!  As soon as I saw it, I knew what I was going to create!  Here's the sketch:

And here's my version.  I tipped the sketch sideways and instead of a sunburst, I created a Union Jack flag.  My daughter has this thing for guys with British accents (we're in trouble...), I blame it on One Direction.  She HAD to have these jeans as soon as she saw them, and as you can see, she was happy to show them off!

I used papers and stickers from Jillibean Soup's Soup Staples 2.  I LOVE the patterns and colors.  They made the perfect foundation for my picture.  I used some MFT Die namics to cut the flag and photo corner pieces.  My favorite parts of the layout are the ADORABLE Union Jack Buttons created by the uber talented and super sweet Stephanie Hart from My Little Bit of Whimsy.  They totally "make" my layout!

That's it for today...make sure to stop by the Creative Scrappers Blog to check out all of the gorgeous creations from the team!

Creative Scrappers # 234

I'm so excited to have my first reveal for Creative Scrappers!  We had a FAB Sketch by Kiki Halbert... Take a peek...

And here's my version of her sketch...I pretty much stuck with it as is...

These pics just make me laugh...they are my daughter and friend entertaining themselves on a slow afternoon by taking "selfies" with their cell phone...very silly...I used the fun new Portfolio collection from Pink Paislee...this line is awesome...it has TONS of fun coordinating embellies and the colors and patterns are awesome.

I was happy to be able to use one of my new Whimsy Camera pins...I've been holding onto these for a bit, waiting for the perfect chance to use them.  I also got to use some of my Evalicious stash again...this "Fun" badge button was just perfect for my layout!

The coordinating chipboard pieces with the Portfolio line are very cool...they come all white, but have a resist pattern on them so when you ink them, you get chevrons!  Make sure to stop by the Creative Scrappers Blog to check out the awesome reveal from the whole team!  I'll be back next week with some DT stuff from Right at Home!

New Colors at The Twinery!!!

I'm so excited to be able to announce that there are four new colors available at The Twinery! Take a peek at these AWESOME colors!

Aren't they just GORGEOUS!!!  I love them all so much, I don't even think I could pick a favorite!  As soon as I got them in the mail, I started a fun card to celebrate the release.

I used all four colors as the background for this simple card.  To complete the card,  I just added a fun Whimsy button and flower pin as well as some cute flags from Bella Blvd.  I thought the colors matched perfectly!

Make sure to head on over to The Twinery Blog to learn about the great deals they have right now on both spools and sampler packs of these new colors!

Let's Capture Sketch 130 Reveal

If you're looking for the Twinery/SRM post, please click here.

A little bit late with this, but it's been a busy weekend!  Sketch 130 at Let's Capture These Sketches was a real beauty, created by Natalie Roy.  Here's my take on her fun sketch!

I used Echo Park's Times and Seasons collection which was PERFECT for this photo of my friend Stephanie and I at a crop last fall.  Of course we were the first in line for the mini photo booth that had been set up.   The little mustache stickers were just the thing, and of course, my Whimsy Mustache pin just topped it all off!

The flower was created using some Maya Road Zipper trim, and I created a little pocket with a pull out journaling card that was cut from the journaling cards sheet that comes with the collection.

That's all for today.  There are about 10 projects sitting on my to-do table,  so I should be back soon with more projects, including a blog hop with The Twinery and Bella Blvd!  Make sure to stop by the Let's Capture These Sketches Blog to see all of the gorgeous layouts the team created!

Let's Capture These Sketches Reveal

It's reveal time over at Let's Capture These Sketches! Sketch #128 was created by Darlene. Here's my take on it:

These are a couple of my all-time favorite pictures! My daughter LOVED her Cozy Coupe! Every time she got in, we had instant smiles! I used Little Yellow Bicycle's Sweet Summertime papers and embellies. The colors are so bright and cheery, they matched the pictures perfectly.
I fell in love with the Whimsy car pin as soon as I saw it and knew I'd use it to scrap these pics!
That's all for today! I'll be back soon with some layouts I created for a class over at Right at Home.

LCTS Sketch 126 Reveal

I'm a little late with this post, but better late than never! J.J. Sobey created an awesome sketch for us to work with this month (see the sketch here) over at Let's Capture these Sketches. Here's my take on her sketch:
At our house, we call empty boxes Cat Traps. Anyone who has a cat knows that if you put a box on the floor, a cat will come jump in it! Our kitty Daisy does not disappoint.

I used Three Bugs in a Rug's new Frisky line. It's such a fun line with tons of great stickers!
I fussy cut the fish and kitty from a couple of the patterned papers and the banner pennants came as part of the punch out sheet.
And no layout is truly complete without a Whimsy Button! My new favorites are the chevrons!
I'll be back next week with a peek at the next layout for the Layout Workshop at Right at Home. In the meantime, make sure to stop by the Let's Capture These Sketches blog an see all of the gorgeous layouts the ladies created!

Scrapbook and Cards Today Spring Issue

So excited to finally share this layout. I created it using a Becky Fleck Sketch for the spring issue of Scrapbooks and Cards Today which is now shipping! It's on page 45 (not that I have that memorized....) Still doing a happy dance!

I LOVE these photos... they were from a girls tea party held in my neighborhood last summer. The girlies looked so cute all dressed up!

I used some Bella Blvd. Sophisticates and Family Dynamix papers that I got in my take-home kit from the Layout Workshop at Right at Home Scrapbooking. They were the perfect colors for my theme. And of course... my Whimsy birdie had to be included!

I'll be back soon with some layouts I created at my girls crop last weekend!

Bella Challenge Day 2

I've decided to try as many of the Bella Blvd. challenges I can do this week... this is the challenge from Tuesday. The task was to use patterned papers from at least four different Bella Blvd. lines in one layout. Since I own about a million Bella Blvd. lines, I figured I had to take this one on! Here's my attempt...
I used papers from the Sophisticates, Winter Wonder, Spring Flings and Easter Things, Tail Waggers and Cat Naps, and Christmas Wishes lines. I LOVE that Bella uses the same color families across their collections! The picture is of my difficult to love kitty Daisy... I love her, but she has her moments!
And of course, I had to add a Whimsy Button and some Twinery Twine!
My goal is to finish at least 3 of the 5 Bella Blvd. challenges... we'll see what I can do. I will say that it has been very fun to do a layout for the sake of doing a layout! The other good thing is that I don't have time to obsess over every little detail, so I actually get things done quickly! Hopefully I'll be back with another challenge in a couple of days!

The Twinery and The Play Date Cafe & a Celebration

Boy, it's been a busy week of posts! I think it might be some kind of record for me! Anyway, Today I'm writing because The Twinery is sponsoring this week's Color Challenge with the Play Date Cafe. The challenge is a "color splash" challenge, which means you use black and white with a splash of color. We used some Pink Sorbet Twine as our color splash. Here's the inspiration:
And here's my take, a layout featuring some fabulous Doodlebug Design Classic Collection, and of course, Twinery Pink Sorbet Twine.
I created a twine heart by adding some adhesive to a die cut heart, then winding the twine around.
LOVE Banners and created this one with MFT's Fishtail Banner.

Topped it all off with a Whimsy Button! If you'd like to participate in the challenge, you could win a prize pack of twine from The Twinery. The rules and deadlines can be seen here.

And now for the Celebration....The Twinery has reached over 10,000 fans on Facebook so we're having a party! Not only can you get a discount but you can win one of six FAB prizes. Sketch #118 Reveal

Hi Everyone,
I'm back with the reveal of sketch 118 from Let's Capture These Sketches. We got to work with an awesome sketch by JJ Sobey... take a peek.

And here's my take on JJ's sketch. I used some Bella Blvd. Finally Fall to showcase some great apple picking pictures from October.

LOVE the word stickers that come with this collection, they're perfect to sprinkle around your layout, and the big brown Whimsy button matched the colors perfectly.
I wanted to include an apple tree so I combined the branch Die namic from MFT with an apple I created using some Twinery twine.
Make sure to take a look at the fabulous layouts the rest of the team created here.

Color Challenge at RAH

Hi Everyone,
Right at Home Scrapbooking is having a color challenge this month using some of my favorite colors! Check out our inspiration:
I LOVE blue, green and brown together! Here's my take on the challenge, a very funny picture of my fluffy kitty Rosie reaching out to "bap" the camera.

As soon as I saw the challenge, I immediately though of the new Style Essentials Collections from Echo Park. They're so versatile, and you can use both sides of each paper, same colors, different patterns.
I created some twine hearts using some Caribbean, Honeydew and Cappuccino twine from The Twinery. And of course... my Whimsy kitty and buttons...LOVE that kitty!

For the title, I cut some letters using my Cricut and combined them with some little alphas from the EP Dots and Stripes Candy Shoppe line. I was very happy with the results! I'll be back next week with a fun Valentine's treat holder for Right at Home and also the reveal of sketch 118 from Let's Capture These Sketches!

1st Reveal at Let's Capture These Sketches

So excited, it my first reveal at Let's Capture These Sketches. We had a great sketch to work with this week designed by Natalie Roy, take a peek:

And here's my version...

These pictures are actually from Christmas. We were trying to get a picture of all the grandchildren to send to Nana down in Florida. Of course, my husband had to get into the action with his version of the "Tebow"... well at least he got them all smiling.

I used Echo Park's Yours Truly, perfect for Valentine's and love-themed layouts. The hearts along the border are painted.

And of course... some Charcoal Twine from The Twinery and a Whimsy button to top it all off! I'll be back next week with some more layouts... finally getting "back in the groove" after some time off! Make sure to stop by Let's Capture These Sketches to see the awesome layouts created by the other members of the team!

Crate Paper at RAH

I got to play with some Crate Paper Farmhouse at Right at Home this month... perfect for fall themed pictures! Here's what I came up with.

I based this layout on a sketch by Frances Sylvia. The picture is of my daughter and friend apple picking at Dowses' Orchard in Sherborn, MA. I finally got to use my apple Whimsy pin!

I loved the fan fold flower embellies that are part of the Farmhouse Collection.

For the journalling, I stitched lines on a tag.

My next layout was based on Creative Scrappers Sketch 182. The picture is from the same day, we went to their farm stand store. Loved the pumpkins!

I cut the leaves on my Cricut using files from SVG Cuts and added a cute little acorn Whimsy.

That's all for today... I'll be back soon with some December Projects!
