April Showers and Stripes Challenge at The Twinery

Hi Everyone, I'm back today with my take on The Twinery's newest Challenge, April Showers & Stripes

As soon as the challenge was announced, I knew what picture I'd be using!  On Easter weekend we were in Chatham, MA to visit my parents.  Chatham is also home to one of my daugher's all-time favorite stores...Jack Wills.  (she has this obsession with all things British)  Of course we had to visit (and purchase...)  And what trip to Jack Wills would be complete without the photo with the custom Landrover in Pink and Navy Stripes?  The title "Fabulously British" is the company's trademark.

The background was painted using a Crafter's Workshop stencil and a Ranger paint dauber.  To go along with The Twinery's Stripes theme, I wrapped some of the new Blossom Iridescent around some navy paper squares.  The paper is from the Dear Lizzy Lucky Charm Collection.

For the stitched title and heart, I dyed some of the Twinery's Natural Twine using some Mr. Huey's in Passport.  I put a quick tutorial on how to do this on my post over on The Twinery's Blog.   I also used the Passport spray to dye the wood veneer speach bubble.   The "Fabulously" was cut using my Silhouette.

The stickers, rub-ons and flair are from the Lucky Charm collection.

I created a little hidden journalling pocket using one of the stickers from the collection and some washi.

That's all for today...thanks for stopping by and make sure that you stop by The Twinery's Blog and link up your April Showers & Stripes creation here!  You could win this fabulous prize package:

I can't wait to see what you create!

April Layout Workshop Project

Hi Everyone...boy...3 posts in 3 days, I'm on a roll!  Just a quick post today to show this month's Layout Workshop Project for Right at Home Scrapbooking.  I got to play with Dear Lizzy 5th and Frolic...which is on my list of all-time favorite collections!  These pictures of my daughter are from 2000...I just love watching little ones run around and play!  The sheer look of joy on their faces is just too cute!

I used my Silhouette to cut the title from the background paper, then backed the negative space with some of the papers from the collection.

I also did a little stitching on my layout, using the new Rainbow Teal Shimmer Twine from The Twinery.  The arrow is from Amy Tangerine's new Yes, Please stitching templates.

Finally, the banner was created using a little more Rainbow Teal Shimmer Twine and MFT's Flag Stax Die namics.  If you're local (MA, RI) and would like to join us, call Right at Home Scrapbooking to reserve your spot.  This month's class will be held Friday, April 19th at 7pm.

Thanks for looking today!

Banner Day Challenge at The Twinery!

Hi Everyone,
I'm here today with a layout for the Banner Day Challenge over at The Twinery!

I have a soft spot for banners.  I love adding them to my layouts and cards, big ones, small ones, mixed banners...just can't get enough of them!  And nothing completes the look of a banner better than a draping of Twinery Twine!  I thought a banner would be the perfect addition to my layout featuring my daughter's winning gymnastics team!  The girls have place first at every meet this season. I used the new My Girl Collection from American Crafts.  The colors were perfect!

I created my banner using MFT's Flag Stax Die namics, but this is an easy style of banner to create without a die as well... just strips of paper with a notch cut in the bottom, completed with the new Rainbow Teal Shimmer Twine!  I think that this is my all time favorite Twinery Twine!

I dipped into my Dear Lizzy Lucky Charm Flair to use this Awesome button, thought it was perfect!

I also added some silver elements to coordinate with the shimmer in the Rainbow Teal Shimmer twine.

If you would like to play along with the  Banner Challenge this month,  you can link up your Banner project here by 11:59pm on March 28th.  One lucky person will win these fabulous prizes!

Four bottles of Heidi Swapp Color Shine and.....

Two spools of Twinery Twine!

I hope you decide to play along and I can't wait to see your banner creations!

March Layout Workshop at Right at Home Scrapbooking

I had a lot of fun creating this month's project for the Layout Workshop at Right at Home Scrapbooking.  First I got to play with one of my FAVORITE Collections...Portfolio by Pink Paislee.  Second, I got to play with my Silhouette...ALWAYS a good time!  Here's what I came up with:

I created my own Silhouette cut file by welding the days of the week together...I was surprised at how easy it was to create custom cuts!

For my title, I mixed it up a little, using a fun chevron arrow and the Everyday cut files, both available in the Silhouette store.

Finally I put together a little hidden journaling pocket and topped it off with a fun tab.  I also stamped it with my new Dear Lizzy Lucky Charm roller stamp (I'm really begin to hoard the different roller stamps that are out these days...it's a problem)

This month's Layout Workshop will be held on Friday, March 22nd at 7:00pm at Right at Home Scrapbooking.  If you're local and would like to come please call the store to reserve your spot!

Cute Little Valentines

Over at the Right at Home Scrapbooking Blog, the design team is showcasing Valentine project ideas for the  fourteen days leading up to the holiday.  I got to make some cute kid-themed valentines.  LOVE this type of project.  Here's what I came up with.

I have to admit, I love owls and squirrels.  I have no idea where this obsession came from, but I see a cute squirrel or owl, and I must have it.  That's kinda what happened when I saw these files in the Silhouette Store.

I used Dear Lizzy's Fifth and Frolic papers to piece them together.  The cute patterns and the colors made them the perfect choice!

And what's a valentine without a treat???  Even my high school girly would be sad if there wasn't a little something...so I made some Dum-Dum Balloons by cutting a small heart, gluing it to the wrapper of the lollipop and decorating it with cute "conversation heart" sentiments.

I attached the pop balloons to the body of the valentine with a little washi tape from the new Doodlebug Lovebirds collection.  Entirely too cute.  That's it for today... I'll be back soon with some goodies from the Twinery and more from Right at Home!

Creative Scrappers Sketch 242

Happy New Year everyone...I'm back with the first Creative Scrappers Sketch of 2013...Sketch 242.  It's a really fun sketch by Kiki Halbert.  Take a peek:

And here's my take on her awesome sketch...

As soon as I saw this sketch, I though of the "Little Moments Lane" paper from Dear Lizzy's 5th and Frolic collection with the cute little Polaroid frames. I fussy cut them to add some funny pictures from this year's Homecoming and attached them with some Bella Blvd. washi tape.

I got to play with my new Silhouette Cameo for this layout and cut both the title and this fun heart outline.  I also got to use some badge flair from Evalicious.

I'm very much into hidden journaling cards these days...I don't love my handwriting so it's a good way to document without seeing my scribbles!  I used one of Evalicious' new stamps to title the card, and topped it off with some Strawberry Twinery Twine.

The little Whimsy Camera was the perfect way to complete my layout... I think these are my all-time favorite Whimsies!!!!  That's it for today... I'll be back very soon with some more projects... I have a very busy January DT schedule!  Stay warm!
