The Twinery and CASual Fridays

This week The Twinery is sponsoring the challenge over at CAS-ual Fridays.

What is CAS-ual Fridays?  It's a challenge site for cardmakers.  CAS stands for
CAS
Clean. And. Simple.
uncluttered
lots of open *white* space,
one clear focal point
This week's challenge is called
'Round & Round'
Create anything using two circles

Here's my creation:

I used some fun papers from the Lily Bee Buttercup collection and tons of MFT Die namics including the Sun (circle #1), Flat Cloud, Mini Pennants and Circle Stax (circle #2) for the balloon. I added a little Charcoal Twinery Twine to "tie" it all together. (sorry, couldn't resist....) The sentiment is from Paper Smooches.

Make sure to check out the CAS-ual Fridays blog to see what their designers have created with our twine and if you play along, you could win a fun prize pack from The Twinery.

Thank You!

I have not fallen off the face of the earth...although it may seem that way!  It's been a rough couple of months around here and I'm afraid my creative activities have had to be tabled for a bit, but I thought it would be appropriate to post this card that I made recently....

This is a thank you to many folks.  First, thank you to my husband and daughter who have done absolutely EVERYTHING around here for the last two weeks while I deal with a bad back.  Thank you to my mom who came up to help out.  Thank you to my good friends:  Anita who has driven my daughter to events, sat with me, made me yummy cupcakes and taken me to PT.  Thank you to Barbara who made dinner the other night...and thank you to my scrappy friends who have forgiven my missed projects and cancelled classes.   And thank you to all my neighbors who have checked in to make sure we're doing OK.

I'm hoping to get back soon to my creative endeavors...the projects are all patiently awaiting me on my dining room table.  Just wanted everyone to know that they are appreciated!!!

The Twinery and My Little Shoebox Blog Hop!

I'm so excited to be the last stop on this first day of a week long blog hop with The Twinery and My Little Shoebox!

If you've come here from Grace Tolman's blog, you're in the right place, if not, the blog order for today is as follows:

OK, on with the fun! I received the most delicious package of goodies from My Little Shoebox, including the very yummy Lovely Day collection.  My most favorite part of this collection, besides the absolutely gorgeous colors was this extremely fun punch out sheet with great rolled flowers.  I knew whatever my project was going to be...it HAD to include those flowers!

I decided that these flowers, and of course some Twine flowers would take center stage on my layout.

I love this picture.  We watched this cute little hummingbird come and visit the flowers on my parent's back deck.  After days of trying to capture his picture we finally got the shot!

I embellished the rolled and flat flowers from My Little Shoebox with some pearls and created a little flower garden using them and my Twine flowers.  I created the twine flowers using Orchid, Buttercream, Honeydew, Blossom and Shore Twinery Twine and my ever handy Hanna Ami flower loom. Of course I needed to add a little die cut birdie!

I also used the negative of a flower I die cut on one of the squares and sewed around the flower to add a little depth.

This was a VERY FUN layout to create.

OK, now for a little more fun.  As you've probably seen on the other blogs in the hop today, The Twinery is giving away this great prize to one lucky winner!  It's four spools of twine, in the newest colors that came out in January...Cantaloupe, Shore, Flax and Orchid.  All you have to do to win is visit each blog in the hop this week and leave a comment.  To be eligible to win, comments must be left by 11:59pm EDT on June 24th.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today... all comments are VERY appreciated, and I would LOVE to have you follow my blog as well!  Be sure to check out the rest of the fun projects all week long.  Tomorrow's first stop will be The Twinery blog!

My American Girl

OK, slowly but surely catching up with all of my DT work and posting!  Still waiting for a couple of adjustments to the new laptop, thank God for my neighbor who is the go-to guy for all things PC... I think I may have used up my yearly allotment of help in the last couple of weeks!  He's a saint.

Anyway, I have a new layout that I created for Right At Home Scrapbooking using the fun new patriotic collection Glory from Authentique.  I love the vintage feeling to these papers!

This is one of my all time favorite pictures of my daughter at the annual Chatham, MA 4th of July Parade.  It was during the period of time when not only did we need to find her something red, white and blue to wear, but also a matching outfit for the Bitty Baby.  The parade is lots of fun.  We go every year along with about 10,000 others!  It's a very traditional parade with Minutemen, bagpipes, local fire departments and a few pirates to boot.

I used some of the great coordinating stickers and some MFT round banner and star dies to create a fun banner.

I love mixing and matching stickers and fonts in my titles and the Glory collection has tons to choose from.

I'll be back on Monday for the first day of the Twinery and My Little Shoebox blog hop!  Have a wonderful weekend!

June Layout Workshop

I'm so happy to be back posting...I've been a week without a laptop.  My old one died and I've been patiently (OK, not really...) awaiting my new one.  It finally arrived today, and I'm busy trying to get it all set up.  I figured it might be nice to update my blog since it has remained untouched since late last week.  I was not going to try to do a blog post using my iPhone!

Here's the layout for tomorrow night's Layout Workshop over at Right at Home Scrapbooking.  The picture is of my sweet girl Rosie.  The layout is based on sketch 202 from Creative Scrappers.

I used some fun papers from Bo Bunny's Alora Collection...I LOVE the bright and cheery colors and patterns, they make me so happy!  I also used some MFT Die namics for some of the flowers and the butterfly....and of course a bit of charcoal twine from The Twinery!

I'll be back soon with some more posts.  I'm a bit backlogged since I had no computer.  Also, don't forget to check back next week for a fun blog hop with The Twinery and My Little Shoebox!

The Twinery and Rubbernecker Stamps Blog Hop!

I'm so excited to be part of today's blog hop with The Twinery and Rubbernecker Stamps!  If you are coming from Karen Hunsaker's Blog, you're in the right place!  If you're just stopping by my blog and would like to participate in the blog hop, be sure to look on either The Twinery's Blog or The Stampin' Sisterhood's blog for the full list of participants.

Now for the fun part!  I received a couple of really fun stamps from Rubbernecker Stamps, including the Martini Glass and The Olive.  These were perfect for me since my husband is a big martini lover!
Here's what I came up with:

OK, a little "punny" but I couldn't resist!  I stamped the martini glass, then fussy cut it out.  After coloring it, I coated it with Glossy Accents to make it look glass-like.

I stamped the Olives on some green patterned papers, and embellished them with some Maraschino Twine "pimentos".  The swizzle stick was made using Charcoal Twine..

To add a bit more color, I added some fun washi tape and a Celtic heart knot using my favorite Honeydew Twine.  I thought the heart tied into the Lots Olive theme!

Now for the prizes!  Both The Twinery and Rubbernecker Stamps are giving away some awesome prizes!  The Twinery has an "I Dream in Color" Sampler Pack, a retail value of $32!

And Rubbernecker Stamps is giving away a $25 gift certificate to one lucky winner.

To be eligible to win, you must leave a comment on each blog in the hop (including The Twinery and Stampin' Sisterhood's Blogs) by 11:59pm EDT, Friday, June 8th.  Now onto your last (but certainly not least) stop on this fun hop...the very talented

Thanks for stopping by my blog.  I appreciate any comments, and would LOVE for you to follow my blog!

Products Used:  Cardstock:  SU; Patterned Papers:  Bella Blvd Sophisticates; Washi Tape:  Bella Blvd; Twine:  Maraschino, Charcoal & Honeydew from The Twinery; Glossy Accents; Label Maker:  Smash.

Time Well Spent

I've been creating layouts for Right at Home Scrapbooking called "Home Cuts".  Basically for a small fee you can come into the store and all the pieces will be cut for you and you can put a layout together.  Here's one that I did recently.

This layout uses Lily Bee's new Handmade line and is based on Sketch 205 from Creative Scrappers.  I LOVE the pictures of my mother and daughter making cookies together.  They had such a fun time.

I used tons of MFT Dienamics including the Botanical Beauty, Butterfly, Flag Stax and By the Letter.

Make sure to check out other Home Cuts over on Right at Home's Facebook Page.  I'll be back on Tuesday when The Twinery teams up with Rubbernecker Stamps for a fun blog hop!
