MFT & Friends Layout for June

I had a lot of fun putting together June's MFT & Friends Layout for Right at Home Scrapbooking.  First, this picture makes me smile...yes that's me and my dad circa 1971 on one of our many camping trips.  (and for once, it wasn't raining....)

I also LOVE the Park Bench collection from Fancy Pants.  Grey, yellow, blue and black is a favorite color combo!

Finally, I got to use my new Feather and Arrow MFT Die namics!  I have to admit, I did not jump right on the feather trend bandwagon...but these dies are just too cute to resist.  I further embellished them with a little line of stitching up the center.

And to give it a more summery feel...because that's what we're craving around here these days, I added some of the MFT Cloud Stax and Sun.  This month's MFT & Friends Workshop will be held at Right at Home Scrapbooking on Saturday, June 8th at 10:15am.  If you're local, and interested, be sure to call the store to reserve your spot!!

New Colors from The Twinery!

I've been sitting on this tidbit of information for a few weeks...but I can finally announce that The Twinery is coming out with fifteen new solid colors of twine!!  The colors are AMAZING!  Bright, bold and fantastic.  I was over the moon when the box arrived at my door.

The colors reminded me of all the pretty flowers and tree blossoms that are popping up these days, so I set out to make some twine flowers with my Hanna Ami Flower Loom and the new Solid Pink Sorbet, Solid Marigold, Solid Mandarin and Solid Honeydew twine colors.  The bold and bright colors coordinated perfectly with the Take Note collection from Doodlebug Designs!

Take Note has the cutest coordinating stickers and embellies!
.

Along with the great embellishments in the Take Note line, I added some cute wooden arrows from Freckled Fawn.

And here's a peek at all of the new solid colors from The Twinery:

Aren't they just fabulous???!!!  Make sure to stop by The Twinery Blog this week to see more fun creations using the new solid colors!!  Thanks for stopping by and as always I appreciate your comments!

The Twinery - May Flowers Challenge

Hi Everyone...today is my day over at The Twinery to showcase my project for the May Flowers Challenge.

I had a lot of fun with my project.  I created a frame and easel (made entirely of paper) from a Lori Whitlock Silhouette file and some adorable Fern and Forest Girl from Little Yellow Bicycle.

I used my Hana Ami Flower Loom and some Sorbet, Blossom, Ocean and Honeydew Twinery Twine to create some twine flowers.

I mixed them in with some of the LYB Fern and Forest Girl embellishments, including that CUTE little Clear-cut shapes fairy!!!!

The colors of the frame were perfect for this picture of me, my mom and my daughter from a few years ago.

We would love for you to play along with our challenge.  There's still time left to link up your project for a chance to win a $25 gift card from scrapbookpal.com!  You can find all of the details here.  Thanks for stopping by and as always I appreciate your comments!

I have Issues!

I can think of at least 5 friends who will have a snarky comment to my title...sorry to disappoint, but I mean Paper Issues!  Today is my intro post over on the PI blog.  Words can't express how excited I am to be part of such a fun and talented group!  As part of our post we were asked to give 5 random facts about ourselves.  I never scrap about me, so I thought it would be fun to make a layout featuring these facts.  Take a peek...

I had a lot of fun putting this layout together...I used Allison Kreft's new Composition and Color collection for Webster's Pages as my back drop and then sprinkled in lots of fun embellies.

Fact 1 - I am a crazy cat lady.  I know this will NOT be a surprise to most.  I decorated my photo with the cute kitty clip from Studio Calico, some fun Queen and Co. washi and of course the perfect flair from PandaEight.

Fact 2 - I'm secretly jealous of my daughter's ability to take awesome selfies...true story.  My selfies are very scary.  I decorated this photo with some painted corrugated words from Jillibean and some wood veneers from Studio Calico.

Fact 3 - I am addicted to coffee.  So true. I used a cute little coffee .studio file cut with my Cameo.

Fact 4 - My husband and I are huge Jimmy Buffett Fans and go see him every year...grass skirts and all.  I highly recommend this activity.  The tailgating is phenomenal and the people watching is pure amusement.  The stamps I used have been in my stash for years...and I love the little Instagram frame from Studio Calico!

Finally...Fact 5 - I have been friends with my husband since we were 15.  I do want to point out that we did not start dating until we were seniors in college.  I do know where all the skeletons are buried.  This pic is from our recent trip to Key West to celebrate our 20th anniversary.   I embellished it with more words from Jillibean and a SC wood hash tag.

Make sure to check out the Paper Issues Blog and Etsy Store.  If you use my code KATHYS you'll get a 20% discount!!!

Happiness with Pink Paislee

Hi Everyone...just a quick post to share this month's Layout Workshop project for Right at Home Scrapbooking.  I got to play with some fun Pink Paislee Secret Crush.  LOVE this collection, the colors, the patterns, everything!  I also used some of the special cutting files you can download from Pink Paislee...they coordinate perfectly with their collections.

This picture is from our recent trip to Key West to celebrate our 20th Anniversary.  We had such a fun time.  It was hard to leave!  I used the Pink Paislee Photo Frames Cut Files to create this cute layered frame for my Instagram photo.

I also used the Circle n Hearts cut file for my background.

Mother's Day at The Twinery

Hi Everyone, I'm here today with a project I created for The Twinery's Mother's Day Celebration Week.  All this week The Twinery's designers have been showcasing some beautiful Mom-inspired projects, make sure to check them all out!

I created a cute little box with a set of monogrammed notecards for my mom...all embellished with some Twinery twine of course!!!  I used the new So Noted collection from Carta Bella...LOVE the soft colors and patterns...so pretty!

The box was created using the Lori Whitlock A2 Vertical Card Holder and my Silhouette. I decided to make each note card unique.  The first is just her initial tied with some Cappuccino twine...simple but pretty!

Then next two cards were created by using the positive and negative images of my mom's name.

On each of these cards, I added a strip of score tape to hold the wrapped twine in place.

For the last card, I cut the "J" from the patterned paper and outlined the negative image with some Blossom Twine.  I love how elegant it looks!

All of the cards will fit nicely into the monogrammed box!  The flower on the box is also a Lori Whitlock SVG.  Just a little something to show mom how much she is appreciated!  Thanks for stopping by today and remember, the Twinery has a special promotion going on this week to honor mom!

Thanks for stopping by and as always I appreciate your comments!

MFT & Friends - May

Happy National Scrapbooking Day!!!  I'll be spending the day with some fun ladies cropping the day away...or at least a little during all the chatting.  I wanted to share the layout I created for this month's MFT & Friends Workshop at Right at Home Scrapbooking.  I got to play with the fun Darling Dear from Studio Calico and tons of MFT Die namics!

I recently got a huge craft desk for my craft room...5'square!  My daughter and her friend decided it was also the modern day equivalent of the couch cushion and blanket fort.  They hung out under the desk for hours.

I was excited to use the new Reel Life Die namic.. it's just so cute and trendy!!  I also used the Story Starters Die namic and the Right this way stamp set.

The Cute Cameras Die namics are my FAVORITE...just so cute!  That's it for today...thanks so much for stopping by and I hope that you're doing something creative today!
