The Twinery: Happy Halloween!

Hi Everyone, I have my last project for The Twinery today as October Guest Designer.  Seeing that it's Halloween, I had to create something festive!  Take a peek:

I fell in love with this little bag cut file that I found in the Silhouette Store. (I am a crazy cat lady!)  I mixed it up a bit and created the kitty face using some Doodlebug Sprinkles and some Charcoal Stripe Twine Whiskers!  Here's a close up of the bag....I'm just glad my will power held up long enough to photograph before I ate the Kisses!!!

Now off to eat the kisses!!!  Have a wonderfully spooky Halloween!

Doodlebug Design: Frosty Friends Layout

Hi Everyone!  Today I have a layout I created using Doodlebug Designs new Frosty Friends Collection.  I love the colors of this collection, they are some of my all-time favorites! They were perfect for these pictures of my family dog sledding up in New Hampshire a few years back.

I opted to go with a Project -Life like layout so that I could showcase more of the papers and embellishments.   I added in some Sprinkles Vellum and Sugar Coated Cardstock to accent the papers.   I love how all Doodlebug uses the same colors across multiple collections, it makes it so easy to mix and match!

Isn't that Penguin Doodlepop adorable????!!!!

For my title, I used the Winter Stickers from the This and That Sticker Sheet, and added some Lily White Chippers to complete it!

And no Doodlebug winter collection would be complete without the adorable little snowmen!!  There are snowmen stickers, Doodlepops and Sprinkles!!  That's it for me today!  Make sure to head over to the Doodlebug Blog for then next two weeks to see more design team inspiration and also see how you can win this entire collection!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by!

Paper Issues: Spooky Black Cats!

Hi Everyone, I'm up on the Paper Issues Blog today with a fun project for the "Witchin' You a Happy Halloween" Issue.  !  I definitely wouldn't mind these black cats crossing my path!

They were really pretty easy to create!  I started with a 2x4 piece of wood.  I cut (or should I say my neighbor Lenny cut....) 3 pieces (12", 10" and 8" long).  Then he cut the triangle out of the top to form the ears.  From there, I painted them black with some Martha Stewart Matte Chalkboard paint.  After it dried, I sanded the edges and covered the sides with some Doodlebug Papers.  The eyes are simply punched white circles with some Doodlebug Beetle Black Sprinkles for the pupils.  I found some black tulle and some older Doodlebug ribbons in my stash and added some bows. I think they turned out pretty cute!

Make sure to link up your Halloween themed projects to the Witchin' You a Happy Halloween Issue & you could win a fun prize pack from our sponsor, SRM Stickers.  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by!

The Twinery October Guest Designer: Leaf Card

Hi Everyone, I'm back with another fall project as October guest designer for The Twinery.  This week, I created a fun, leafy card.  I used Twinery Twine to accent my design.  Take a peek:

I first used some Solid Cappuccino, Mandarin, Marigold and Strawberry twines to stitch the spines of my leaves.  These colors coordinated perfectly with Doodlebug's Friendly Forest papers!

To top it all off I created a bow from Solid Mandarin, Marigold and Cappuccino twines.

I love how just a little twine can have such a big impact!  That's it for me today.  I'll be back with my last project next Friday!  Thanks for stopping by.

Doodlebug Design: Santa Express December Daily & a Free Cut File!

Hi Everyone...today I'm sharing my first-ever December Daily mini album made with Doodlebug Design's new Santa Express!  I've always been a bit intimidated by the thought of taking on a December Daily, but the this collection made it so easy!  I started out with a Doodlebug Plain & Simple Chipboard Album.  I love how the pages are all different!  To cover the pages, I scanned them, then uploaded the scan file to Silhouette.  From there, I traced the images to get the outline.  This allowed me to cut the perfect size/shape covers!  No scissors, no trimming!  It also allowed me to create a few extra pages using Doodlebug Textured Cardstock so that I had enough pages in the book. I then went to work decorating!

Don't you LOVE the Holly Berries Sprinkles Shapes??!!!!

Doodlebug's Doilies were a fun addition to the album as well...the colors are perfect!

I created a tie envelope using Lily White Sprinkles Vellum.  I plan on putting some cookie recipe cards inside! (I make cookies every year for the neighbors!)  Of course I embellished it with some cute Gingerbread people!

The Limeade Chevron Treat bag worked perfectly with Santa Express too!  I used one to create a pocket for a journaling tag.

I also created an ornament shaker and filled it with some coordinating Doodlebug Sequins!

I will say that my album came together MUCH quicker than I expected, and I'm really happy with the results!  And now for a freebie for you!  I created a cut file for all of the number flags in my book, and would love to share it.  Click here to download your copy!  That's it for me today.  Thanks for stopping by!

The Twinery: Paper Pumpkin

Hi Everyone, today, I have another project that I created for my Guest Design spot over at The Twinery this month.  I found this adorable little pumpkin in the Silhouette Store.  It was designed by Lori Whitlock.

I put the pumpkin together using some papers from Doodlebug's Friendly Forest & Happy Camper Collections.  I created the twine spirals by dipping some Honeydew Solid Twine in some fabric stiffener, winding it around a pencil & letting it dry.  When you pull it off the pencil, it maintains the spiral shape.

From there, I simply glued the spirals to the top of my pumpkin!  I think the twine added the perfect touch!

That's it for me today!  Thanks for stopping by!

I created the confetti pocket by stitching some vellum to a piece of the patterned paper and filling it with some Doodlebug Design Sequins.  The LOVE clip is from Freckled Fawn.

Paper Issues: Woodn't You Know, It's Fall!

There's a new issue at Paper Issues today, "Woodn't You Know, It's Fall," sponsored by Pinkfresh Studio!  What are we looking for??  Anything to do with Fall, projects with wood veneers, wood grain, leaves, apple picking and/or projects using Pinkfresh Studio products!  I decided to create a fun fall layout using some fun Pinkfresh wood pieces and some Doodlebug Friendly Forest papers & embellies...take a peek:

I love these pictures of my daughter from 2002!  She had the best time chasing the leaves around the yard.  Not sure how much raking actually got done!

The little Pinkfresh wood pieces matched my layout perfectly!  My favorite, the little Hey You piece!

I stitched my leaf swirl using some Doodlebug Twine, it was the perfect backdrop for the Leaf Sprinkles Shapes!

The Twinery: Guest Designer for October

Hi Everyone, I'm back at The Twinery again as October Guest Designer.  This week I put together a fun Halloween card, take a peek!

I used some goodies from Doodlebug Design to piece together my card including some Sprinkles Vellum, some Chippers letters and of course the spider Doodlepop!  Only Doodlebug can make a spider cute!  To create my spider web, I placed a die-cut spider web behind my vellum & used it as a guide to glue down my Charcoal Striped Twinery Twine.  I love the way it turned out!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by!

Doodlebug Designs: Friendly Forest Layout

Hi everyone, today I have a fun layout that I created for Doodlebug Design using the new Friendly Forest Collection!   Fall is my FAVORITE time of year!!  I love the crisp air and the turning leaves....and apple picking is one of activity I can't miss!  I found these pictures from a few years back...take a peek:

I started off with some Chippers in Bon Bon ...they're the perfect size for creating a fun title!  I topped some of the letters off with some Falling Leaves Sprinkle Shapes.

I

This layout screamed for a circular shape, so I decided to add some Bon Bon Doilies. I then created some embellishment clusters using the leaves & flowers from the Friendly Forest Icon Sticker Sheet and some Fall Sprinkles.

And I HAD to use the ADORABLE little fox Doodlepop...especially since he was holding an apple!!!  Too cute for words!  That's it for me today...Make sure to stop by the Doodlebug Design Blog to get more Friendly Forest inspiration and to see how you can win this collection!  Thanks for stopping by!

The Twinery: October Guest Designer

Hi Everyone!  I'm back guest designing at The Twinery this month!  For my first post, I created a fun card for my Mother-in-Law's Birthday...take a peek:

I love the chalkboard trend, and thought this Chalkboard Easel Card from Lori Whitlock was too cute!   I used some Doodlebug Friendly Forest and some chalkboard paper from Canvas Corp to put it together.  The banner is strung with some Solid Honeydew Twine

I also used some Solid Strawberry Twine to create my balloon string.

That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by!
