Octoberfest

I'm back with a fun fall layout I created for Right at Home Scrapbooking.  Over Columbus Day weekend, we were invited to an Octoberfest Party...the kids had a ton of fun...and the food was FABULOUS....smoked ribs, cole slaw....it was a great day!  When I got Farmhouse's new Sugar Hill line to play with, I knew it would be perfect to use with the pictures from the party!

I used a ton of MFT Die namics on my layout... the Primitive Pumpkins and Wood grain Fence were perfect for my theme... I also got to use my new Impression Obsession Leaf Dies...I love how the dies also emboss!

For my journalling tag, I stitched some lines on a Jillibean tag and used them as writing guides.  My title was created using MFT's By the Letter Die namics.

That's it for today...Lots more on my scrappy "to do" list these days, some more Right at Home DT work, Class layouts for Layout Workshop and MFT Fan Club and I also start my term at Creative Scrappers very soon!!

Scrapfit Challenge

I was browsing through Pinterest the other day and came upon a sketch I just loved.  I followed the links to the original source and stumbled upon a great challenge blog,  Scrapfit.  I decided it would be fun to try out their Workout #78 Sketch Challenge.  Here's the awesome sketch:

I usually like to change up sketches, but this one was perfect as is...here's my take on it:

LOVE this pic from my daughter's birthday party last August.  The girls had a lot of fun with the photo props I made. I used Basic Grey's Paper Cottage line.  I love the black blue and red together.

Thanks for stopping by today...I'll be back next week with a DT Project for Right at Home.

Playing with Ombre Challenge

Last week Scrapbook & Cards Today issued a challenge....playing with ombre, and I just couldn't resist playing along! If you're not familiar with the term ombre, it means shaded or graduated in tone. I created the following layout using the pink papers from a few different Bella Blvd. collections.

This is one of my all time favorite pictures of my daughter from 2000...she kept playing "peek" from behind a couple of tulip plants.

I was excited to pull out some of my decorative washi tapes too!  I also dug deep and found some older pink chipboard pieces and crocheted flowers. And of course I had to add some Twinery Twine in Sorbet!

The most exciting part?  SCT featured my layout on their blog!!! That's all for today...I'll be back next week with some more projects and layouts!

Trick or Treat

Wanted to share a "for fun" layout I created recently.  I based it on Becky Fleck's PageMaps Sketch seen here.  As soon as I saw the sketch, I knew what I wanted to do.

Every year Doodlebug comes out with the CUTEST Halloween collections...They even make spiders seem likable! This year's Haunted Manor collection is full of fun, bright colors and adorable pumpkins and ghosts.  It also coordinates perfectly with last year's Monster Mania so I could use a few leftover elements from that collection too!

I hand-stitched the spider web and bat "swirl."

And I'm in love with the toothless pumpkins...so stinkin' cute!

That's it for today...I'll be back soon with another layout I created with the Right at Home Layout Workshop take home kit.

October Layout Workshop

Just dropping in to give you a peek at the October Layout Workshop project for Right at Home Scrapbooking.  I had fun working with some Lily Bee Double Dutch.  I based my layout on sketch 229 from Creative Scrappers.

I love these pics of my daughter and her friend at a local farm.  They had so much fun apple picking, and of course the ice cream didn't hurt either....  I decided to jump on the new Pie Chart bandwagon with this layout...they're lots of fun and a great way to add splashes of color.

I loved the hidden journaling tag on the sketch and decided to keep it as an element.

I was excited to use my new Impression Obsession leaves dies...they're so cute!  And of course I needed to add some Twinery Twine so I made some swirls with Cappuccino twine.  That's all for today...I'll be back soon with some other projects I've been working on!

Take a Hike!

Hi Everyone... I just wanted to share a layout I did for Right at Home Scrapbooking last month.  I got to play with Simple Stories new Take a Hike papers.  Now if you know me, you know that my idea of camping is heading to the Marriott... but luckily I had a picture of Caroline from camp last summer that was just perfect!

The girls took a photography class and at the end, there was a nature walk.  Their instructor took this adorable pic.   I loved the little flash card...."We're not lost, we're just exploring!"    I used my MFT Behind the Camera Dienamic to create a cute "campy" camera.

There's tons of great little "details" in this collection.  I cut my banner from another of the flash cards and added some Cappuccino Twinery Twine.  The sticker sheets were great, with tons of alphas and word stickers.  That's all for today...I'll be back soon with the Layout Workshop Project for Right at Home Scrapbooking and also another Challenge Layout I created for Scrapbooks & Cards Today.

A Twinery Layout

I'm back with a project I created for The Twinery.  Recently my daughter had a birthday party where all of her friends got dressed up.  I knew I'd want tons of pictures, so I made some mustache and lips photo props...they were a big hit and I got all the pictures I wanted!

I was searching for a good title and saw the perfect saying on the Sticker Sheet of the Authentique Lively collection..." Live Life with Flair and Laughter..."  by Maya Angelou.  I thought that would be a perfect title for my layout.   My layout is based on  Creative Scrappers Sketch 224,

I wanted to spice up my title, so I decided to make it from twine...specifically I used some Honeydew and Strawberry Twinery Twine...since they both coordinated perfectly with my papers!  For a tutorial on how to create a twine title, hop over to my post on the Twinery Blog

Thanks for stopping by today, and be sure to stop by The Twinery Blog for more inspiration!

Kitty Smooches

I was looking through some old pictures a while ago and found this picture of Caroline with our kitty Spike from 2005.  He was such a good boy...always very tolerant of Caroline's efforts to love the stuffing out of  him.  Caroline loved him so much, her first word was "kit."

I used a few different Jillibean Soup lines for this layout including Hearty Barley Soup and some of the original Soup Staples papers.  I love those papers...they're on my all time favorites list!  I created the chevron patterns using triangles, and stitched them down.

The banner was made by fussy cutting the hearts from the Hearty Barley paper and stapling them to a piece of Honeydew Twinery Twine.

That's it for today...I'll be back on Wednesday with a layout for The Twinery!  I hope all of my US friends enjoy the Columbus Day holiday and a Happy Thanksgiving to my friends in Canada!

Happy World Cardmaking Day!

Hi Everyone,
Thanks so much for stopping by today for World Cardmaking Day!  I'm not  usually a card maker,  but when a group of designers from The Twinery decided that it would be fun to participate, I had to do it!  Here's my card creation....

I thought it would be fun to take the sunburst trend and try it in twine!  The colors I chose were Cantaloupe, Strawberry, Seaweed and Buttercream.   I was so happy with the results...bright and cheery!

I used my Hanna Ami Loom to create the flower.  To complete the card, I used some pretty papers from the Echo Park For the Record 2 Tailored collection and some MFT Die namics to create the flag sentiment and the butterfly.

Make sure to take a look at all of the other creations and activities going on today.  I'm sure you'll find tons of inspiration!  You can find the other designers who signed up for the giant World Cardmaking Day Blog Hop here...and be sure to stop by the Twinery Blog to see my fellow designer's creations!  Thanks for stopping by...I appreciate your comments and would love for you to become a follower!

October MFT Fan Club

Just a quick post to give you a peek at this month's MFT Fan Club Layout.  We'll be using some MME's Stella and Rose Papers (some of my all-time faves!) and tons of MFT Die namics...take a peek.

My mom took this picture of their harvest this year...quite the bounty and that's not even all of it!  I was lucky, they saved the biggest for me!

I love the Primitive Pumpkins Die  namic... so cute!  And of course I had to embellish them with a little Cappuccino Twinery twine!  That's it for today...I'll be back with some more craftiness soon!
