The Twinery and Imaginisce Blog Hop

It's the last day of the fabulous blog hop between

Hopping today for The Twinery are:

Jamie Cripps
Kathy Skou (you are here)
Monika Wright

I was very excited to get a fun box full of Imaginisce Childhood Memories.  As soon as I saw the Wonder paper with the fabulous bubble wands, I knew what picture I was going to scrap.  I love this picture of my daughter from 2000.  She could sit and blow bubbles for hours!

I used the bubble wand stamps from the collection to create a fun embellishment.  I colored and cut out the images.  I covered the wands with some glossy accents to make them look more like actual wands.  I tied them together with some fun Caribbean Twinery Twine.

I had a little fun creating some "bubbles" on my layout.  First I cut some bubbles from the blue Play all Day paper, outlined them with more Caribbean Twine and filled them with Glossy Accents to make them shine like real bubbles.

I couldn't bring myself to throw out the cut bubbles, so I decided to just make more shiny bubbles and add them over the chevrons on the b-side of the Snapshots paper.

Make sure to check out all of the fun creations The Twinery and Imaginisce Teams created. You can get the full list of participants over at The Twinery Blog. Make sure you stop by both The Twinery's and Imaginisces' blogs and leave a comment.  You could win one of these prizes:

3 Spools of Twinery Twine... a $48 value!

An Imaginisce Prize Pack worth $48!

Last day to leave comments will be Saturday, April 27th at 12pm est.  Both prizes will be announced on Monday, April 29th.  Thanks for stopping by!

One Fine Day & Some Happy News

Hi Everyone...just a quick post to show you a layout I created using my take-home kit from the Layout Workshop at Right at Home Scrapbooking.  I got to play with some Crate Paper Acorn Avenue.  Here's what I came up with:

I just love these pictures from back in 2005.  The one on the left was our Christmas card pic that year.  We got a Mr. Huey's Mint Julep mist in our kit, and I used in a few ways...first I splattered some on my background.  I also used it to color some Studio Calico wood veneer arrows and also to color my LYB burlap letters in my title.

The  little clips from Studio Calico are a favorite and used one of my birdies to hold my picture perfect label.  That stamp sentiment is from Lawn Fawn.  I found these Prima flowers when I was purging the craft room.  I have NO idea when I got them, but I thought the colors were perfect for my layout.

That's it for today... Now for my happy news.  I'm excited to finally be able to announce that I'll be part of the Paper Issues Design Team!!!

Such a fun group of ladies, and there are a lot of fun Issues planned!  If you're not familiar with Paper Issues, be sure to stop by the blog to check things out!  I'll be back on Friday as part of the Blog hop with The Twinery and Imaginisce!  Thanks for stopping by!

April Showers and Stripes Challenge at The Twinery

Hi Everyone, I'm back today with my take on The Twinery's newest Challenge, April Showers & Stripes

As soon as the challenge was announced, I knew what picture I'd be using!  On Easter weekend we were in Chatham, MA to visit my parents.  Chatham is also home to one of my daugher's all-time favorite stores...Jack Wills.  (she has this obsession with all things British)  Of course we had to visit (and purchase...)  And what trip to Jack Wills would be complete without the photo with the custom Landrover in Pink and Navy Stripes?  The title "Fabulously British" is the company's trademark.

The background was painted using a Crafter's Workshop stencil and a Ranger paint dauber.  To go along with The Twinery's Stripes theme, I wrapped some of the new Blossom Iridescent around some navy paper squares.  The paper is from the Dear Lizzy Lucky Charm Collection.

For the stitched title and heart, I dyed some of the Twinery's Natural Twine using some Mr. Huey's in Passport.  I put a quick tutorial on how to do this on my post over on The Twinery's Blog.   I also used the Passport spray to dye the wood veneer speach bubble.   The "Fabulously" was cut using my Silhouette.

The stickers, rub-ons and flair are from the Lucky Charm collection.

I created a little hidden journalling pocket using one of the stickers from the collection and some washi.

That's all for today...thanks for stopping by and make sure that you stop by The Twinery's Blog and link up your April Showers & Stripes creation here!  You could win this fabulous prize package:

I can't wait to see what you create!

Family Ties Class Part 2

This is the second layout I created for the Family Ties Class at Right at Home Scrapbooking.  We had a lot of fun yesterday...thanks ladies for making the afternoon so nice!

Love this picture of my daughter and my nephew...so cute!  I found the background heart overlay on Kelly Shults' blog Envisages...she was kind enough to let folks download the file she created.  I chose to back some of the hears with the papers from Pebbles' Family Ties Collection.

The speech bubble and the arrow are from Silhouette.

That's it for today...off to grocery shop with the masses.  Hopefully it will be a little less crowded due to the vacation week!  Be back soon and thanks for stopping by!

Family Ties Class at Right at Home

I'm teaching a fun class today at Right at Home Scrapbooking.  We'll be playing with Pebbles Family Ties Collection, perfect for spring!  Here's one of the layouts:

I love these pictures, they're from a crop last fall.  I was playing with a great iPhone App called Pocketbooth.  It takes a "photo booth" type strip of pictures.

I had fun with my Silhouette again, cutting lots of little details.  I love arrows.  I think they are my new "go-to" embellishment!  I also created the file for the title...getting much easier to do!  The stamp mats for the pictures were created using MFT's Stamp Stax Die namics.

I'll be back tomorrow with the other layout I created for the class.  Thanks for stopping by!

April Layout Workshop Project

Hi Everyone...boy...3 posts in 3 days, I'm on a roll!  Just a quick post today to show this month's Layout Workshop Project for Right at Home Scrapbooking.  I got to play with Dear Lizzy 5th and Frolic...which is on my list of all-time favorite collections!  These pictures of my daughter are from 2000...I just love watching little ones run around and play!  The sheer look of joy on their faces is just too cute!

I used my Silhouette to cut the title from the background paper, then backed the negative space with some of the papers from the collection.

I also did a little stitching on my layout, using the new Rainbow Teal Shimmer Twine from The Twinery.  The arrow is from Amy Tangerine's new Yes, Please stitching templates.

Finally, the banner was created using a little more Rainbow Teal Shimmer Twine and MFT's Flag Stax Die namics.  If you're local (MA, RI) and would like to join us, call Right at Home Scrapbooking to reserve your spot.  This month's class will be held Friday, April 19th at 7pm.

Thanks for looking today!

Rainbow Pancakes

I'm back again with some more new baker's twine from The Twinery.  Today the design team is focusing on the fabulous Black Shine Twine.  It's a natural base twine with a bit of shine in the black threads.  It was the perfect color combination for this silly layout of my daughter and her friend with their colorful pancake creations...

I used some Pebbles Basics for my layout.  I love all of the colors and fun patterns in this collection!  I see lots of projects using this line in my future!  The arrows and target outline is a file I downloaded from Kinsey Wilson and it was cut using my Silhouette,

The Black Shine twine coordinated perfectly with my background papers!  I also love how the black makes the colors of the papers (and pancakes) pop even more!

I played with my new "A Birdie Told Me" dies from Lawn Fawn.  (Speech bubbles are a new favorite!)  I made them stand out a bit more by outlining them with some Stone, Blossom Iridescent and Lilac Twine.  The sentiments are from Paper Smooches.

It was a fun layout to create for some fun pictures!  And yes, they did eat those pancakes....(it was only a little food coloring...)  Thanks for stopping by, and I appreciate your comments!   Make sure to stop by The Twinery Blog to see the fun creations the design team has put together!

The Twinery - Rainbow Teal Shimmer Twine!

All of this week the designers over at The Twinery are showing projects featuring the 10 new Twinery colors.  Today's feature is my favorite...Rainbow Teal Shimmer!  It coordinated perfectly with my new Amy Tangerine Yes, Please! papers!

Yes, this is a very silly picture of me.  My family is always saying that I should scrap myself more so... when my friend Sylvia showed up to one of my scrap classes wearing this fabulous cow hat, I just couldn't resist taking a selfy!

I used  the new Amy Tangerine stitching templates to create the fun camera and arrow designs with the Rainbow Shimmer Teal twine.

I used some of the new Blossom Shimmer Twine as well to accent my designs.

These little camera clips just called out to me...I thought they helped pull out the shimmer factor in both twines.

The flair in the Yes, Please! collection is fabulous!  I used some more Rainbow Teal Shimmer twine to tie one of the buttons onto my picture.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I'll be back tomorrow with another layout featuring the new Black Shine twine.  Make sure to stop by the Twinery Blog to see all of the design team's fabulous creations!
