Doodlebug Design | Land That I Love Envelope Box Card

I love the 4th of July.  We usually get together with friends to celebrate and watch the fireworks on our boat.  It's always such a great time !  So of when I got a chance to play with some Land That I Love collection I thought it would be fun to create a fireworks card.  Take a peek...

For the base of my card I altered one of Lori Whitlock's Envelope Box Card Files.   I made the base from some of the Hip Hop Hooray and the graph side of the America the Beautiful papers. Then I started to work decorating it!

For the fireworks I combined stickers from both the Icon and Mini Icon sheets.  I love that they are different sizes!  The flags are from the Odds & Ends Pack.

And of course I had to have someone setting off the fireworks!  I love the little Sammy eagle DoodlePop... I thought he added the perfect amount of dimension and his little beak is adorable..  I have him holding one of the fireworks from the Firecrackers DoodlePops.  Yes, I used DoodlePops!  Usually I just like to hoard them!

For my sentiment I combined the July 4th from the Mini Icon Stickers and the happy sticker from the This and That Sheet.

Now if I remember to mail the card I'll be in good shape!  In celebration of the 4th of July, I'm having a fun Doodlebug Giveaway over on my Instagram account... @ekskou.  Head on over to enter to win a Land that I love prize!  If you've created any projects with Land that I Love, be sure to tag Doodlebug Design on Facebook and Instagram, we love to see what you make!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

Lori Whitlock | Gnome 4th of July Card

Hi Everyone!  It's Kathy today with a fun card ... the Box Card Gnome 4th of July (SVG, Silhouette)  that I designed for Lori Whitlock...take a peek...

How cute is this little gnome??  I just love him and he goes together easily.  (For help with shaped box cards, see this post)   I used some Doodlebug Design Petite Prints to piece it together and added some enamel dots to the flower centers for some dimension.  The sentiment was done using the print and cut feature of my Silhouette.  He folds flat to fit in a standard A2 Envelope.   Lori has one here (SVG, Silhouette).  He looks so cute sitting on my shelf, and it would be a great card to send to a loved one to celebrate the holiday.

I hope you all have a wonderful Fourth of July!

Doodlebug Design | Land That I Love Layout

Last summer my daughter had an internship in NYC.  For the 4th of July she was invited to a friend's house all the way out on the north fork of Long Island, a town called Mattituck.  The girls had a blast!  Part of their celebration was at the Mattituck Old Fashioned Street Fair... lots of good food, music and crafts!  Lucky for me they also took lots of pictures!  It's so hard to get pictures of them out with friends once they reach a certain age!  I used the Land That I Love Collection to scrap one of my favorites.

I love the graph side of the America the Beautiful paper.  I used it as my background, then cut 3x4 pieces of some of the other patterned papers and lined them up to be the background for my photo.

I used a lot of the Odds & Ends to embellish.  I love that banner!

I also used some of the stickers from the This and That sheet as well as the icons sticker sheet.  And of course... I had to use some of the Stars and Stripes Shapes Sprinkles!

For my title, in addition to the Odds and Ends pieces, I used some of the new Sunshine alpha stickers... they are the perfect "in between" size!

Doodlebug Design | Land That I Love Shadow Box Card

The Fourth of July will be here before we know it!   Most of the fireworks around where I live have been cancelled, but I was able to make may own using the Land that I Love Collection.  Take a peek...

I altered the base of this shadow box card from Lori Whitlock to make the base of the card.  I covered the outside of the card with the fireworks side of the Summer Celebration paper.  For the night sky inside, I used the Hip Hip Hooray paper.

Inside the card, I added some of the fireworks Odds & Ends pieces along with stickers from the Icons sheet in the shadow box.  I love the dimension of a shadow box card, it looks like a night sky full of lights!

To finish  I popped out the cute little eagle on the front and added a firework sticker from the Icons sheet to his "wing" so it looks like he's setting off more fireworks.  I also added the sentiment banner from the set.  The best part of this card is it folds flat for mailing.  Have you made any projects using the new Land That I Love Collection?  Be sure to tag Doodlebug Design on Facebook and Instagram, we love to see your creations!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

Doodlebug Design | Land That I Love Box Card

Doodlebug's 4th of July Collections are always among my favorites and Land that I Love does not disappoint! I especially love the little icons in the collection.  When I saw the cute little Geranium with the flag, I immediately thought it would make a really fun box card, so that's what I made!

How sweet is that little smiley face on the plant pot??  I love the patterns in this collection.  They are of course perfect for patriotic projects, but they can also be used for other projects as well!  I combined them with some petite prints to complete the look.  And I just had to add some sprinkles!  The little star sprinkles are perfect.

I finished the card with the Hooray for the Red, White & Blue sentiment from the Chit Chat Pieces.

Lori Whitlock: New Sizzix Dies

Hi Everyone! Today I have a fun 4th of July Party set I created using Lori's Whitlock's new Sizzix Dies! Take a peek...

I started with the new Hello Doily Sizzix Thinlets Set to make my banner. I simply layered two of the doilies and folded them over a piece of twine to create the banner. It would be so cute in a doorway or along a table edge!

Next I set together to make some fun serving items. I used the oh so versatile Mix and Match Flowers Thinlets to decorate some serving items including the napkin holder, the bucket and Straw...

The label on the milk bottle is from the new Perfect Labels Thinlets Set, I thought it would be good to let folks label their drinks to keep the bottles from getting mixed up! The butterflies on both the bottle and the bucket can be found in the Butterfly Lantern Thinlets Set. I think this might be my favorite set! Check out the adorable little lantern you can make using it!

You can fit a tiny electronic tea light into the lantern, to light up your night time table! That's it for me today, make sure to check out all of Lori's Sizzix Dies over on the Sizzix Website here. You won't be disappointed!
