Doodlebug Design | Day to Day Collection August Calendar

Have you enjoyed the Design Team's Day to Day inspiration?  There are so many ways to use this collection... you can use it as a planner, a way to document your memories... they would even make a fabulous calendar gift with photos for friends and family!  I'm completing our posts with the month of August!  Summer is a fun time in our world... we spend our weekends with friends and family on the water! Again, I used the Day to Day collection as a way to document our activities.  Take a peek...

I used elements from the Seaside Summer Collection to embellish my calendar.  I also used my Insta photo trick, as I did on my July Calendar.  It's really easy to get this look.  I printed my photos 1.5" square.  I then cut papers from the Seaside Summer 6x6 pad and some petite prints to be 1.875" x 2.25", and then positioned my photo on the upper part of the paper to get the look.

The great part of these calendars is there is a lot of space to "play."  You can decorate the top banner of the page, and also the blank days of your calendar.  I used the water stamp from the Seaside Summer Doodle Stamps and some fish from the Mini Icons to add some fun to the open space.

In addition to the Mini Icons, I used a lot of the Seaside Summer Puffy Stickers to add some dimension to my layout.  That board was the perfect way to embellish the photos of my daughter & her boyfriend paddleboarding!

The word stickers on the This and That Cardstock Stickers are perfect as captions for your photos! And that margarita puffy sticker... perfection!

I added a bit more color to the bottom banner using one of the 12" stickers from the This & That Sheet.
I've had so much fun with these calendars. So much so that I'm planning a 2023 album featuring a page a month!  I think it would be a fun way to keep up with my monthly scrapbooking!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

Doodlebug Design | Day to Day Collection Monthly Scrapbooking

The new Day to Day calendar pages are not only a great way to organize and plan... they also are a fabulous way to document your month!  I opted to create  a scrapbook page layout featuring photos from last July using the Swimming Pool Calendar sheet and some Land that I Love Mini Icon Stickers.  Take a peek....

For my heading I used the new Day to Day Month stickers and numbers from the Sunshine Stickers.  The banners and balloons are from the Land that I Love Mini Icons.

We are big boaters and spend our summer weekends at our marina... so I had to add the cute boat stamped image from the Seaside Summer Doodle Stamps.  I picked some of my favorite photos from the month including this cutie... Parker is our neighbor at our marina.  He's such a good boy!   To create my little insta-photo pictures, I first cut my photos to be 1.5" square.  I then cut some petite prints 1.875" x 2.25" and added my photo leaving more room at the bottom to look like an instant photo.

In addition to the Land that I Love mini icons... I also used a few mini icons from the Bar B Cute Collection along with some grass washi.  The little picnic basket was perfect to document my daughter's birthday picnic in Central park!

I used some of the word stickers on the Land that I Love This and That Sticker sheet to label my photos... I love these words!!  Lastly I added one of my favorite characters... Steven Seagull from the Seaside Summer Stamp set. He just makes me smile!

This is such a fun way to keep up with your monthly scrapbooking!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

Doodlebug Design | Special Delivery Baby's First Year Album

We are at that point when there's lots of new babies entering our lives... nieces & nephews, friends' children, my younger cousins are all having babies.  I'm so excited... nothing better than cuddling and loving a new baby... and then giving him/her back before they fuss!!!  It has also kept me busy in the craft room... I love giving something special to the new parents.  I made this first year album for my nephew's new little guy using the Special Delivery Collection.

I used this file for the cover of the album.  I added a "hidden binding" to hold 12 pages.  That left me enough space to document the baby's arrival through the first birthday.  I then set to decorating pages for each month of the first year.

I love the cut apart sheet with the series of lists.  The It's a Boy section was perfect for my first pages.  And how cute is that little stork??

I created little notes using this file for each month to document baby's favorites, milestones, what's new and outings and activities.  I also added a space to document how the baby is growing... height and weight.  These were all done using the print & cut feature of my Silhouette. Each set of pages has a little flag with the month using the My Type Alphas.  All that was left was the fun part... using the Special Delivery Odds & Ends and Chit Chat pieces to decorate each set of pages.  Take a peek...

The last pages of the book celebrate baby's first birthday!  I added a few Odds & Ends from the Party Time Collection.  I love how the 2 collections coordinate seamlessly!

I can't wait to meet my new great-nephew (we always knew I was a Great-Aunt, this just solidifies it :)) I also can't wait for them to fill this book with lots of adorable photos!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

Doodlebug Design | Fun at the Park Waterfall Mini Album

Happy Monday everyone!  While the Doodlebug design team (im) patiently waits for the fabulous new Great Outdoors Collection to arrive, we have some fun projects for you featuring some of our favorite collections!  I was excited to be able to play with the Fun at the Park Collection again... I just love all the fun colors and icons!  I thought a mini album would be fun, so I created this little folio type album with waterfall features that hold a bunch of small photos.

I started with a simple cover, which I covered in the Mini Dot paper.  I decorated the cover with the Adventure Awaits Castle Doodlepop ... I love the acrylic elements on the pop!  I finished the cover with a string tie using some Beetle Black Doodle Twine.

When you open the album, it has two sides, each with a waterfall element.  I thought this would be a fun way to display your favorite vacation photos.  Each side holds 4 square photos.  I created the waterfall using a metal die in my stash, and papers and stickers from the collection.  Here are some close-ups of the individual flip pages...

I cut some tags from the Luggage Tags Cut Apart Cardstock and added them to my pull tabs... they were the perfect size!

I thought this would be a fun way to document some of your favorite photos from Disney!  Be sure to check back all of this week for more design team favorites!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

Doodlebug Design | Fun at the Park Autograph Book

We have been to Disney a good number of times, and each time we still feel the magic!  When my daughter was about 6, she made it her mission to see all of the characters around the park, and get their autographs.  It was adorable.  So when I saw the Fun at the Park Collection I immediately thought to make an autograph book.  Take a peek...

I love the little heart shape in the Odds & Ends and decided to model my autograph book after that.  I used a heart shape in my Silhouette, welded on a little tab for my binding and decorated the front with Petite Prints and the hearts side of the Tea-riffic Time Cardstock.  I even wrapped some mini dots paper around a marker to bring along for signings!

Inside each spread I have a page for a photo (because we must get photos with each character as well!!) and a place for each character to sign.  I made little eared balloon pieces for a project a few years ago (see here) and I thought it would be cute to make them into  "sign here pieces" with a little doodle twine tail.  I also framed all of the autograph spots with some coordinating paper frills.  Here are some more views of the inside pages...

The Character Autograph ticket from the Chit Chat pieces is just perfect!

I just love all the cute balloons and fireworks in the Bits & Pieces Pack!  And the shaped sprinkles are so fun to spread around.

My now 23 year old daughter has now volunteered to go back and get this book filled with more autographs if I would only send her there!  We just might have to make another family trip!

Doodlebug Design | Cute & Crafty Notebook Mini Album

I have fallen deeply and madly in love with all of the adorable icons in the Cute & Crafty Collection.  They are just so sweet!  One of my favorites is the little notebook... that cute smile is just fabulous! I decided to make a mini book using it as my inspiration.  Take a peek...

I started with the Cute & Crafty Notebook SVG file, and edited it to take out the spirals so I could add my own using my binding tool.  Once I had the cover, I set to filling my book. For my pages, I used the Cute & Crafty Coordinating Petite prints pack.  If you're not familiar, these packs are full of fun tone on tone prints that work perfectly with the collection.

I wanted to make this a more "all purpose" mini, where my previous 2 books were "scrapbooking" focused.  The Bits & Pieces were the perfect solution. I just love all the pieces in this pack!  Lots of flowers, tabs, labels.  So much to work with!  I also used some of the cut-aparts from the Happy Thoughts Cardstock, Chit Chat pieces and Odds & Ends.

I could not resist using some of the buttons from the Odds & Ends Pack... they just make me smile!  Also the big words from the Chit Chat pack are a fun way to embellish a page.

I really had fun putting this one together!  Have you created any projects using Cute & Crafty?  Be sure to tag Doodlebug Design on Facebook & Instagram.  We always love to see what you create.  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

Doodlebug Design | Fairy Garden Flip Mini Album

I love looking online for inspiration.  Sometimes you see something that just jumps out at you, and you just have to make it!  That is the feeling I got when I saw the adorable Flip Mini Album in Scrapbook.com's 10 Mini Album Projects to Make This Weekend post.  As soon as I saw this mini I knew I would make it using the Fairy Garden Collection.  It comes in it's own box, and the album pops up for viewing.  Take a peek...

I decorated the outside of the box with one of the large stickers from the This and That sheet along with some cute Mushroom Meadow Shaped Sprinkles.

When you remove the cover, you can see the little pages.  When you pull up on the tab, the whole album pops up and sits on the edges of the box

The pages are attached into the box with a ribbon.  When you pull them up, they fan out so you can flip through all the pages.

I had some really fun photos of my great niece picking dandelions.  They may be weeds to some, but to a 3 year old they are the most beautiful flowers ever!  Here are some close ups of the other pages..

I thought it was such a fun way to display a few photos!  Have you made anything using the Fairy Garden Collection?  Make sure to tag Doodlebug on both Facebook and Instagram!  We always love to see what you create.  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!
