While I was laid up and bored out of my mind, I decided to plan my daughter's birthday party. She wanted a Tea Party, which I thought was absolutely adorable. I scoured Pinterest for hours (since I really couldn't do anything else...) and came up with great ideas for food, decorations, etc. One of the ideas I came up with was Tea Cup favors...made from paper...and I will admit after piecing them together for hours it became a "seemed like a good idea at the time" kind of project. I chose a whole bunch of Echo Park Papers to make the cups which were cut from the Tea for Two SVGCuts collection. The teapot on the invitation is from the MFT Always Time for Tea Die namics set. Here's what I came up with
I entered these into the Echo Park So Happy Together contest and just found out I won!!! It made all the hard work even more worthwhile!
Well, the party's today, so I need to get back to making fruit salad and about 60 tea sandwiches...thank God for the Whole Foods bakery...at least I don't need to make the desserts!

So You-nique
Hi Everyone,
I'm back with a project I was supposed to do in June before I ended up on the couch for 6 weeks...slowly but surely catching up! I did this LO for Right at Home Scrapbooking using the very fun Fancy Pants Be You collection. I'm madly in love with the colors and patterns in this line, they are just too fun! I based my LO on a Sketch 216 from Creative Scrappers.
I think the rub-ons and the chipboard pieces were my faves...so funky and fun. Also I used some new letter dies I found from Memory Box. I LOVE the typewriter font! I'll be back soon with more projects!

LOVE these pictures, they're of my daughter and friends being VERY silly at their academic awards reception. I thought they went perfectly with the whole "Be You" theme.
I combined the flowers from the chipboard collection with flowers I cut from one of the papers to add a splash of bright color.

So Excited
A little fun news to share... I have a layout in the Sept./Oct. Issue of Creating Keepsakes! It's their annual Top Ten issue and I'm part of an article called Ten Tips from Ten Fresh Faces.
And here's my layout. Of course it's a kitty one! This is my squishy kitty Rosie. I used Bella Blvd.'s Tail Waggers and Catnaps collection. My favorite part is the Daily Routine card... eat, play, sleep, repeat...yup that about sums it up!
The issue comes out today. If you'd like to purchase a copy you can go to www.creatingkeepsakes.com.

August Layout Workshop
Hi Everyone,
I'm finally really getting back into creating...so happy to be crafty again. I had tons of fun putting together the class layout for this month's Layout Workshop at Right at Home Scrapbooking. Take a peek...
I'll be back later this week with some DT work for Right at Home.

I know I've said this before, but I am SO grateful for cell phone cameras! Since I was laid up for most of the beginning of the summer, I really couldn't get out and take pictures. I was lucky that my daughter and friends have cell phone cameras and were willing to send me any and all pics that they took! My daughter's friend took these one day while they were out on our boat in Chatham. They're just too cute!
I based the layout on Creative Scrappers sketch 217. I used My Mind's Eye's On the Sunny Side papers...which were perfect for my nautical pictures! I also used some of the newer MFT Dienamics including Sea Charms, Round Banner Stax and Cloud Stax. I even used some of my new Ocean Twinery Twine! I think it's my favorite new color.

Back to Scrapping!
It's been a very long 6 weeks, but I'm happy to say that I'm finally almost back to normal (or my version of it...!) My back surgery was a success...no more pain and I can walk around without cringing! I still can't lift anything over 5 lbs...but that just means that I get help with laundry and groceries! I'm also able to get back to scrapping, which makes me very happy!
I was able to complete my layout for this month's MFT Fan Club... a fun one using Little Yellow Bicycle's Paradise line. I love these pictures from our cruise last spring...our first day on the boat and Ed and Caroline enjoying a refreshing drink (no alcohol for Caroline!!!)
If you guessed "Boat Drinks" you're right! I'll be back soon with some more scrappy goodies...just so happy to be creative again!

I used MFT's new Hibiscus die...love the leaves.
I also used the new MFT Vanity License Plate die and stamps. Can you guess the plate? It's one of our favorite Jimmy Buffett songs.....

New Colors at The Twinery!!!
I'm so excited to be able to announce that there are four new colors available at The Twinery! Take a peek at these AWESOME colors!
Aren't they just GORGEOUS!!! I love them all so much, I don't even think I could pick a favorite! As soon as I got them in the mail, I started a fun card to celebrate the release.

I used all four colors as the background for this simple card. To complete the card, I just added a fun Whimsy button and flower pin as well as some cute flags from Bella Blvd. I thought the colors matched perfectly!
Make sure to head on over to The Twinery Blog to learn about the great deals they have right now on both spools and sampler packs of these new colors!

Sketch 215 Creative Scrappers
This was supposed to be my first reveal for Creative Scrappers. I have decided not to be part of the team at this time due to possible surgery, but the awesome Kristine Davidson has told me that she would be happy to have me back for the next term. Since I did the first layout already, I wanted to share it. It's based on Sketch 215 which is a real beauty designed by the fabulous Jenny Evans. Here's a peek at the sketch:
And here's my take on her sketch...
These are a couple of my favorite pictures. My daughter LOVED our day trip to Atlantis last spring. I think she would've stayed there forever if we had let her!
I used the awesome Dear Lizzy Neapolitan from American Crafts. The colors in this collection are gorgeous. The stripes were my favorite! The line also has some great stickers and chipboard accents.
Make sure to check out the other reveals over at Creative Scrappers, and be sure to play along and link up your layout using this sketch. You could win an awesome prize package!
On a side note, I'm fine...just a little issue with a herniated disc in my back that needs to be dealt with. If my blog seems neglected over the next few weeks, rest assured, I will be back in full swing as soon as I can. Thanks for your patience!!
