CS Sketch 241

It's not my normal week to post for Creative Scrappers, but Kristine's Sketch #241 was a special sketch...it looks just like the new Creative Scrappers Logo, so she asked us all to participate in this week's reveal.  Take a peek at the sketch...it's such a fun one!

And here's my version...I used some Lily Bee Persnickety Papers...I LOVE the patterns and colors..they're so much fun. I also used some Mr. Huey's sprays to spatter the background.  I thought they went perfectly with this silly photo of my daughter listening to the new One Direction Release...she spent the entire day with at least one ear bud in...

I used another one of my Evalicious badges...I can't get enough of them!  I also used some MFT Die namics for the sun, stars and circles.

I created a hidden journaling pocket to hold one of the Index Journaling cards from the Persnickety Collection.

Make sure to stop by the Creative Scrapper's Blog to check out the wonderful creations by the DT.  Well, that's it for today...and this will be my last post of 2012.  I hope you all have a safe and Happy New Year!

Creative Scrappers #240

I can't believe Christmas is in two days.... At this point I'm just hoping I didn't forget anything!  Just in time for the Holiday, I did a Christmas themed layout using Sketch 240 by Nicole Nowosad from Creative Scrappers.  Here's the sketch:

And here's my take on the sketch using the Lily Bee Christmas Cheer Collection.

I tilted the sketch to the right and used one picture instead of two, but otherwise, I stuck with the general layout.

I got to use another one of my Evalicious badge buttons...I just can't get enough of these and I found a Chevron Whimsy button in my stash that coordinated perfectly with the red chevron paper.

In place of the pie chart circles on the sketch, I used some MFT Christmas Ornament Die namics to create some hanging ornaments.

Make sure to stop by the Creative Scrapper's Blog to see the wonderful creations the team has put together.  I'll be back next week with another Creative Scrapper's sketch...it's a special one! I'm off to celebrate Christmas and New Year's with friends and family.  I hope that you all have a wonderful holiday season!

Memories

I almost forgot to post this layout I did for the MFT Fan Club over at Right at Home Scrapbooking.  We got to play with some festive papers from BasicGrey and the new Poinsettia MFT Die namic.

I love this picture from 2005 of my niece reading the Christmas Story to my daughter.  Just too cute!

In addition to the Poinsettia Die namic, I used the Journal-it Calendar Basics stamps to create a little calendar embellishment.

I'll be back Sunday with a layout for Creative Scrappers!

Pat's Fans

Just in time for the Patriots/SF game this weekend, I thought I'd show a little team spirit!!!  We have a lot of rabid Pats Fans in our neighborhood, so you know if there's a big game, there's a party!  This picture of all the neighborhood kiddo's sporting their Pat's gear is from one of those parties last year!

I used paper and stickers from Authentique's Original Collection and Sketch 225 from Creative Scrappers.  I added some red Bo Bunny Ledger paper to cover all the team's colors.

I love Authentique's stickers...they always have great words to go along with their papers.  The stars were cut using the Star Stax MFT Die namics.

I created a stick pin using a Maya Road Bingo number and added a little Twinery Twine to dress it up.   That's it for today...off to try to recreate my address list (sadly lost when my laptop died last May...)  so I can send out my Christmas cards!

December Layout Workshop

Hi Everyone,
Two posts in two days... it's been a busy week!  I'm here today with a peek at the project we'll be creating at this month's Layout Workshop at Right at Home Scrapbooking.  I had a lot of fun with this one, using some Studio Calico Yearbook papers and tons of dies and stamps.

LOVE these silly pics of my daughter and friend with their giraffe and zebra hats.  I tried to keep the layout whimsical to keep in line with the photos.  I LOVE my new Polaroid frame die from Li'l Inker Designs, it's perfect for the "selfies" my daughter always takes!  I used a bunch of MFT Die namics including the arrows from the Lead the Way set, the speech bubble die and stamp from "Say What" and the photo corners and tabs.

I also used a couple of stamps from the Hero Arts/Studio Calico Oh Snap collection.

If you're local and interested in joining the Layout Workshop at Right at Home Scrapbooking, please call the store for details. (508)695-9290.

Creative Scrappers Sketch #238

Hi Everyone, I hope you are all enjoying your weekend!  I'm back today with Creative Scrappers Sketch #238 by Juliana Michaels.  This was such a fun sketch to work with!  As soon as I saw it, I knew what I was going to create!  Here's the sketch:

And here's my version.  I tipped the sketch sideways and instead of a sunburst, I created a Union Jack flag.  My daughter has this thing for guys with British accents (we're in trouble...), I blame it on One Direction.  She HAD to have these jeans as soon as she saw them, and as you can see, she was happy to show them off!

I used papers and stickers from Jillibean Soup's Soup Staples 2.  I LOVE the patterns and colors.  They made the perfect foundation for my picture.  I used some MFT Die namics to cut the flag and photo corner pieces.  My favorite parts of the layout are the ADORABLE Union Jack Buttons created by the uber talented and super sweet Stephanie Hart from My Little Bit of Whimsy.  They totally "make" my layout!

That's it for today...make sure to stop by the Creative Scrappers Blog to check out all of the gorgeous creations from the team!

Christmas is Coming

I am one of those people that feels that Thanksgiving needs to be over before I can start on Christmas...however that does not apply to my Christmas cards.  I've been making my Christmas cards for years now, and it's one of those projects that has developed a life of its own.  My list is up to about 100 people, so I need to start early!  I came up with a relatively simple design this year..and it includes the new Platinum Shimmer twine from The Twinery!  Take a peek..

I was excited to use some techniques I used in my recent "Motography" class by Jessica Sprague and Heidi Swapp.  The class was all about taking pictures with your smart phone, and they worked with a bunch of apps.  I used the Phonto App to write on my picture and a PSE template given to the students as part of the class to convert a 4" x 4" photo onto a 4" X 6" template so that you can send it out for printing.  It made life so much easier not to have to print my own pics!!!

I used a couple of different collections from Simple Stories for my card, the green papers are from the Snap Core line and the newsprint and red papers are from Handmade Holiday.  I made the little tree by cutting 3 different sized MFT Doilies, folding them in quarters and putting them together to form the tree. The tree trunk is a small piece of woodgrain Washi from Freckled Fawn.

And the perfect finishing touch... a little bow of Platinum Shimmer Twinery Twine!  I love the sparkle  factor!

That's all for today.  Head on over to The Twinery to see other creations using the new Platinum and Gold Shimmer Twines.  Now that the holiday has officially begun for me, I guess I'll need to go do some shopping!  Thanks for stopping by!

Quite the Spectacle

I was going through some files and realized I never posted this layout I created forthe DT over at  Right at Home Scrapbooking in September featuring Fancy Pants Off to School collection.  This is such a fun line, and as soon as I saw the "Too Cool" paper with the glasses, I knew exactly what picture I was going to use!  My daughter is the only person I know that was excited to get glasses...but if I looked that cute in glasses, I guess I would be excited too!

I based my layout on Sketch #222 from Creative Scrappers.  I love how this sketch lets me feature all of the great patterned papers in this collection.  I created some little flags using the tab stickers and some pins.

I'm in love with the whole "negative space" concept, and used that on some of my background pieces.  Of course I had to use the punched pieces as well, so I scattered them around the page.

That's all for today...I'll be back Friday with my Christmas card!!  Enjoy the week and thanks for stopping by!

Creative Scrappers Sketch 236

Hi Everyone...I hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving.  I'm back with Creative Scrapper's Sketch 236...such a fun sketch by Heather Leopard.  Here's her sketch:

And here's my take on her sketch.  I basically stuck with the sketch as is...exchanging some arrows for the "spritzes" and using 2 smaller pictures instead of one.  I used some Studio Calico Yearbook... a new favorite of mine to showcase these pictures of my daughter on her first day of High School.

I added one of my Evalicious badge buttons to the circle...I'm in love with these badges!  They add the perfect touch.

In addition to the arrows... I used one of the SC Yearbook wood veneer speech bubbles that I colored with some distress ink.

That's all for today...I'll be back later this week with some goodies for Right at Home Scrapbooking...I hope you have a great week and thanks for stopping by!

Kitty Love

Hello my name is Kathy and I'm a Crazy Cat Lady...Yes, I admit it, I just don't see it as a problem.  So I will continue on this path with another layout featuring the very squishy Rosie kitty.

I love this picture of Rosie.  It's from last summer when I was laid up with a back injury...she spent every day with me, keeping me company.  I used Echo Park's Everyday Eclectic papers and stickers.  I love the colors and patterns!

I created a little banner using the Rounded Banner MFT Die namic.  I punched hearts in the middle and kept the negative space.

That's all for today...I'll be back this weekend with sketch # 236 from Creative Scrappers!  I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving!

A Rare Two-Pager

I'm breaking new ground today... first a two-page layout, which I NEVER do...and a Christmas-themed layout before December 1st!  Yes, I am one of those grouches that needs to get through Thanksgiving before I jump into Christmas!  Let's just say I was inspired by the fun Echo Park This and That Christmas Collection given to me to work with by Lisa  over at Right at Home Scrapbooking.

Of course, the layout stars my two spoiled brats...who absolutely believe that Christmas and all the decorations that go with it are all about them.

I created the little tree using MFT Dizzy Doily Die namics in 3 sizes.  I folded them in quarters then glued them together.  The tree trunk is some fun Bella Blvd Washi tape.

I had fun with some Maraschino twine from The Twinery..first I "hung" some MFT Christmas Ornaments, then I created a garland to go along the top of both pages using some punched shapes and the Maraschino Twine.

That's it for today...off to pack for my weekend Scrap Retreat with the ladies from Right at Home Scrapbooking...I simply cannot wait!

Smart and Beautiful

I'm back with a layout I created for the DT over at Right at Home Scrapbooking.  I got to play with some of the For the Record 2 - Tailored collection from Echo Park.  This is a fun collection, great colors and patterns.  The pictures are from my daughter's 8th Grade Academic Awards last spring.

I fussy-cut the flowers around my journaling spot from one of the papers in the collection.

The stickers in this collection are great, lots of flowers, journaling pieces and word stickers to embellish with!

I'll be back later this week with another layout for Right at Home!

Creative Scrappers # 234

I'm so excited to have my first reveal for Creative Scrappers!  We had a FAB Sketch by Kiki Halbert... Take a peek...

And here's my version of her sketch...I pretty much stuck with it as is...

These pics just make me laugh...they are my daughter and friend entertaining themselves on a slow afternoon by taking "selfies" with their cell phone...very silly...I used the fun new Portfolio collection from Pink Paislee...this line is awesome...it has TONS of fun coordinating embellies and the colors and patterns are awesome.

I was happy to be able to use one of my new Whimsy Camera pins...I've been holding onto these for a bit, waiting for the perfect chance to use them.  I also got to use some of my Evalicious stash again...this "Fun" badge button was just perfect for my layout!

The coordinating chipboard pieces with the Portfolio line are very cool...they come all white, but have a resist pattern on them so when you ink them, you get chevrons!  Make sure to stop by the Creative Scrappers Blog to check out the awesome reveal from the whole team!  I'll be back next week with some DT stuff from Right at Home!
