Doodlebug Design: Hostess Gift K-Cup Christmas Tree

Hi Everyone, it's I'm on the Doodlebug Blog today with a fun idea for a Hostess/Neighbor Gift.  The holidays are full of fun and festivities, I'm thankful for our friends and family who open their homes to us, and want to make sure they know how much I appreciate them!  One friend in particular hosts our neighborhood holiday party every year, she's wonderful.  She also loves her daily French vanilla coffee, so I decided to make a gift featuring her favorite /drink...

I created this fun tree using K-Cup coffee pods as the base. You could use the Tea K-Cups or Cocoa K-Cups as well.   This would be a fun gift for a coworker or teacher, anywhere there is a Keurig Machine!  Here's how I put it all together...

I started with 21 K-Cups, 21 paper circles (I cut these from the Here Comes Santa Claus 6 x 6 pad, and the Gingham Linen Petite Prints 6x6 Pad.) and a backing for the cups cut from a sheet of Grasshopper Gingham Linen Petite Prints.  I designed this backing in my silhouette and am happy to share the file with you here!

Using removable glue dots, I attached a paper circle to each of the K-Cups.

Next, using foam squares, I attached each K-Cup to the tree backing starting on the top.

Once the K-cups were all attached, I set to decorating my "tree" using items from the Doodlebug Design Here Comes Santa Claus Collection including the Christmas Assortment Matte Sprinkles, Candy Cane and Holly Berry Shaped Sprinkles, and stickers from the Icons Sheet and some Odds and Ends.  I also added some of the new Here Come's Santa Cut Files available in the Silhouette Store and the Lori Whitlock SVG Shop

I can't wait to give it to her!  She will be so happy.  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

Paper Issues: Hi Mom!

Hi Everyone!  Today I have a layout I created for this month's Pawsitively Pets Challenge at Paper Issues.  This month's challenge was to use at least 3 patterned papers and a splash of mist, ink or paint.  Here's what I came up with....

I used Doodlebug Designs Kitten Smitten papers and embellishments for my layout.  It's available here in the Paper Issues Store.  I just love this picture of my little kitty Jax.  Every morning when I sit and drink my coffee, he stalks me from under the end table, swatting at my arm when I reach for my cup.  He keeps it up until I cave in and play with him!  Here are some close-ups... I used some mist to ink my paw print stamp for my splash of ink!

Play along with the Pawsitively Pets Challenge and post your project in the November Challenges Album in the Paper Issues Friends and Fans Facebook Group.  You could win a gift card to the Paper Issues Store! You have until December 7th to play!   Need some scrappy goodies to play?  Use code KATHYS at checkout and you'll get 20% off your order!

Doodlebug Design: Thanksgiving Place Cards

Hi Everyone!  Today I have some fun little Thanksgiving Place Cards I made using some Doodlebug Design Flea Market Papers and Cut files which are available in the Silhouette Store and the Lori Whitlock SVG Shop!  Take a peek...

I started with a simple box.  I then sized the Acorn, Pumpkin, Sunflower and Leaves files to fit over the box.  I cut a small tag, and using my Silhouette Sketch Pens to write the names of my guests and tied the tag to the stems.  Here are some close-ups.

To complete the place cards, I added some Sprinkles and Stickers from the Flea Market Collection.  I plan on filling them with some sweet treats!   That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

Doodlebug Design: Gingham Linen Petite Prints

Hi Everyone!  Today I have a fun project featuring the new Doodlebug Design Gingham Linen Petite Prints!  I just LOVE the color on color prints of these papers!  They are so versatile, and add the perfect touch of pattern!  I decided to use them to create a fun Disney Themed mini album to showcase our pictures from a few years ago!  Take a peek...

The cut file I used for the album and the cute little suitcase box that holds it is from Lori Whitlock.  I used the basic pieces of her file, and customized it some.  I put it all together using some Ladybug, Lemon, Bubble Blue and Beetle Black Gingham Linen Petite Prints.  Here are some close-ups of the inside of the album...

One of the things I love most about Doodlebug is that you can always find stickers and embellishments to go with your basic color scheme since they always use the same basic color palette!  I added embellishments and stickers from a number of different collections.  I also used a few of the Gingham Assortment Washi rolls which coordinated perfectly!

I just love how this turned out!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

Doodlebug Design: Here Comes Santa Claus Cut Files

Hi Everyone!  Today I have a project I created using the fabulous new Doodlebug Design Here Comes Santa Cut files available in both the Silhouette Online Store and the Lori Whitlock SVG Shop!  One of my all time favorite Doodlebug Characters is the little lopsided snowman!  You can imagine my excitement to find that he is now a cut file!  I decided to make him the focus of a fun Holiday decoration for my front door!  Take a peek...

Here are some more close-ups of my snowman... He is pieced together using Doodlebug Textured Cardstock,  Gingham-Linen Petite Prints, Here Comes Santa Claus Papers and some Chevron Sugar Coated Cardstock for the Snowflakes.  I also used some Ladybug Chunky Twine to Tie it all together (sorry, couldn't resist the pun)

I used the new Snowflakes #1 and Snowflakes #2 files as bases for my letters.

And last but not least I added the cute little bird which was part of last week's release!

And just so you can get a better idea of his size, here he is on my door.
