Doodlebug Design: 2 Cute 2 Be Spooky!

Hi Everyone! Today I have a layout using the ADORABLE October 31st Collection from Doodlebug Design.  My daughter is older, and I can't always get costumed pictures these days...so I went back a few years and found this gem... take a peek...

This was the first year my daughter went with a more "scary" costume... of course she was way too cute to be spooky....  I fell in love with all the patterned papers in the October 31st collection, and couldn't decide which ones I wanted to use so I went with a grid pattern and used them all!!

I used the stickers from the Icon Sticker Sheet to decorated some of my squares... I love Doodlebug Critters!!!

And only Doodlebug can make a spider cute!

I love mixing and matching alphas so I used some Doodlebug Chippers and some Skinny Cardstock Stickers for my title.  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by!!

Paper Issues: How 'Bout Them Apples

Hi Everyone!  There's a new Issue at Paper Issues... How 'bout them Apples! Sponsored by the Paper Issues Shop!   What are we looking for??  Anything fall, apples (red/green), leaves, fall colors, use September/October printables available in the Paper Issues Shop!  It's easy!  Take a peek at what I created...

This is the newest member of our family, Jax.  He's about 5 months old now and he's just too stinkin' cute.  He loves to sit in our windows and watch the leaves!!  I am completely in love with the Cedar Lane collection from Pink Paislee... the colors are awesome and the embellishments are perfect for fall!

For my leaves I cut some from one of the Cedar Lane Papers, the others were cut using Lawn Fawn's Small Stitched Leaves dies.

Link up your "How 'bout them apples," projects and you could win a $20 gift card to the Paper Issues Shop! Your projects may also be featured on the Paper Issues Blog, our Facebook Page, or on our Instagram feed! Lori Whitlock: A Purrfect Umbrella

Hi Everyone!  I have a fun project I created for the Lori Whitlock Creative Team today!  It was my week to post a tutorial, so I created this project, showing how to use the knife tool in the Silhouette Software to customize a shape for your project...

I saw a similar umbrella in Pinterest recently, but it was only sold in the UK and it was out of stock.  Since I am a crazy cat lady, I refused to let that stop me!  So I pulled out my Silhouette Black Adhesive Vinyl, found this Black Cat Shape in Lori's Silhouette Shop and went to work!

For the full Tutorial, see my post on the Lori Whitlock Blog here.  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

Doodlebug Design: Fall Friends

Hi Everyone! Today I have a layout for Doodlebug Design's new Fall Friends collection!  Fall is my most favorite time of year!  I love the cooler temperatures and the leaf peeping!!  We get tons of leaves in our yard, so there is always the chore of raking... some of us take it more seriously than others as you can see from these pictures from a few years ago... take a peek...

The colors in the Fall Friends Collection are fabulous, and don't even get me started on all of the adorable critter stickers!!

The little owl from the Icons Sticker Sheet was irresistible!  I also love how I can mix and match the leaf and acorn from the Friendly Forest collection! And don't get me started on the shaped Sprinkles!

I'm also excited for the touch of swimming pool in the collection... it is my favorite color! That's it for me today,  Thanks for stopping by!

Paper Issues: Off the Page Back to School Challenge

Hi Everyone, today I have the September Off the Page Challenge for Paper Issues! We want you to use your scrappy supplies to help embellish, or create something fun for back to school.  Decorate folders, book covers, pencils, lunch boxes, lunch notes... etc.  Are you a teacher?  Use your supplies to create something for the classroom.  No kiddos going back to school, no worries..  create something using scrappy supplies that helps you keep organized... notebooks, bulletin boards, bookmarks, labels etc.  We'd love to see all of your ideas!!
Around my house we are trying to get organized and gather up all the necessary supplies for my daughter's senior year.  She is the secretary of one of her school organizations and she was looking for a way to keep all of the club information organized and separate from her school work, so I created a fun Fauxdori for her to use.  A Fauxdori is just a knock-off of a Midori travelers notebook.  You can use them for everything from a to do list, or to document your travels.   Usually they're made from leather or fabric... but this is Paper Issues so I made one from paper!  Take a peek...

I used some Bella Blvd. Color Chaos to create my cover and the insert covers.  I laminated the pieces to make them more durable.  The insert covers hold some organizational printables including a calendar, to do lists and a notepad.  You can find these printables all over Pinterest, and many are free.  Everything is held in place with elastic thread.

Now for the fun part... design team member Danielle de Konink created the fabulous "to-do" printable, and it is available for free (here) in the Paper Issues Store!

Create something using this printable, or any back to school/classroom/organizational like those mentioned above and post it in the September Challenges Album in the Paper Issues Friends and Fans Facebook Group to be entered to win a $10 gift card to the store.  You have until October 11th to enter.  I can't wait to see what you create!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by!

Doodlebug Design: Cardstock!!

Hi Everyone! Today I have a project featuring Doodlebug's (very YUMMY) Textured Cardstock.  I created some fun Sunflowers for my daughter's desk... they're her favorite flower and I thought these ones would last all year long!

I am a self proclaimed cardstock snob.  I do a lot of projects with my Silhouette, so my cardstock has to be good... and Doodlebug Design Textured Cardstock is FABULOUS!  It cuts beautifully, even intricate designs, and it's sturdy enough to withstand a lot of handling!  One more thing... it comes in the most beautiful array of colors! My project was created using Sunshine and Chocolate Chip Cardstock.  The Silhouette file can be found here.

I created my "stems" using a wood dowel, which I covered in Fernwood Washi Tape.  The flowers are attached to the stems using some hot glue.  I'm so happy with the finished project, and my daughter loves them!  That's it for me today, make sure to keep checking the Doodlebug Blog for more Cardstock inspiration from the Design Team!  Thanks for stopping by!
