Yesterday

This week my husband and I celebrated our 19th Anniversary. I have a hard time believing we've been married that long. I think I may have to give up telling everyone I'm 29... it's beyond the respectable limits at this point! Since I had a post due for LCOM on our anniversary I thought it would be perfect to scrap our wedding photo. I still haven't done a book for our wedding... talk about a bit behind... someday I'll get to it! Here's the layout I created using Bo Bunny's Garden Girl Line.

I love the chipboard pieces that come with this line, I used the leafy flourish as a backdrop for the flowers I die cut using MFTs new Prima Donna Petals Die namic.

The butterfly was "fussy cut" from the Garden Girl Paper.

That's all for now... it was fun to look back many years (and a couple of dress sizes!) Check out the Bo Bunny Garden Girl Collection Kit at LCOM! You'll love the colors and patterns!

Feeling Dotty... Again!

I've had such fun playing with Echo Park's Dots & Stripes this month over at Let's Capture our Memories. Both the Metropolitan and Candy Shoppe lines are so bright and cheery!
I decided to go off the page once more and created a perpetual calendar mixing the Metropolitan and Candy Shoppe Lines.
All this project required was some chipboard, papers stickers, and my Zutter Bind-it-all.

I used two sheets of the Metropolitan Alpha stickers to create the days, months and dates.

And once I reacquainted myself with my Bind-it-all... it went together really quickly. I'm thinking this would make a great holiday gift for teachers and coaches.
For my other project, I created a really cute layout featuring my daughter and a neighbor at a tea party that was held for the girls in my neighborhood. They're just soooo cute!

I created a little banner by folding the Dots & Stripes pennant stickers over a piece of twine.

And of course... a Whimsy to complete the title. That's all for now.. I'll be back soon with some more projects!

Dots and Stripes at LCOM

A few of the ladies over at LCOM created some beautiful altered items last month, and inspired me to create something off the page! Looking through my stash, I found this great memo board frame from Canvas Corp. and decided it was a perfect base for this project I created for my daughter's room.

I used Echo Park's Dots and Stripes Metropolitan to cover the frame and the background and back the pictures, and I used twine from the Twinery to hang my items from. The mini clothes pins are Canvas Corp.

The canvas banner pieces and the kraft tags are Maya Road. I colored the banner pieces with Maya Mists and stamped on them with archival ink.

And of course... there are Whimsy buttons!!!

It was a lot of fun to create something a little different!!! I think it gave my creativity a boost!! That's all for today, I'll be back later this month with some more EP Dots and Stripes!

August at LCOM

Just wanted to share a couple of layouts I created for Let's Capture our Memories this month. I got to work with My Mind's Eye's Hip Hooray Girl collection... love the colors in this collection, so bright and cheerful! Perfect for birthdays and celebrations.
Last year, Caroline had candles at every meal on her birthday... including breakfast! I had fun with the details on this one... especially the corrugated owl from Jillibean! I also made the ribbon flower using Maya Road Pleated trim and a Gluber. And of course... there are Whimsies!

After using Hip Hooray for a couple of birthday layouts, I tried to used them for another theme... I almost succeeded! This is a picture of Caroline at a friend's birthday party... since it was the 3rd of July, they had sparklers!

I sprayed the Jillibean corrugated shapes with some Glimmer Mist to make them shine and I used Stickles on the letters to keep with the sparkle theme.

That's all for today.... I'll be back with some Echo Park Dots and Stripes projects next week!

Hip Hooray!!

OK, it's been a while since my last post... but I've been very busy!! Lots and Lots of DT Layouts in the works as well as the class layouts for the Layout Workshop and the MFT Fan Club! I've also been asked to create a layout for the September Pagemaps Newsletter!! I'm VERY excited about that! Here's what I created for the Marketing Team over at Let's Capture Our Memories. I got to use My Mind's Eye Hip Hooray Girl and some fabulous Jillibean corrugated shapes!
I had fun painting the corrugated shapes to match the papers and the cupcake theme, coordinated perfectly with my picture!

Of course, I had to add some Whimsy Buttons and pins from my stash, and some twine from the Twinery to finish it all off!

That's all for today, but I'll be back soon with some more Hip Hooray and also some Echo Park Victoria Gardens!

Beach Babe Layouts

Boy, I don't blog for 2 weeks, now my 4th post in a week! Playing catch up I guess. I was lucky enough to get to work with Fancy Pants Beach Babe Line over at LCOM this month... this is such a fun collection! Bright colors, fun embellies... perfect for summer and vacation photos! My first layout shows my daughter under the Caroline St. sign in Key West, FL. We just couldn't resist! I love the Beach Babe paper flowers, and of course a Whimsy Cloud!

My second layout is also from the Keys... my daughter would've been more than happy to spend the whole time in a beach chair with her book and her iPod! I made the zipper flower using a Cosmo Cricket Gluber and some Maya Road Zipper trim.

I'll be back later in the week with another Splash layout... LOVE the collections this summer!

Relaxing

I have actually been relaxing for the past few days! The weather has been great down the Cape! Of course I did get a sunburn... they have to start making SPF 225 for those of us that are of pasty pale Irish descent! I am getting some great pictures though... we had a birthday party and a big parade down here... so I'm learning my new camera on the fly!

Anyway... the real reason I'm posting today is to share my latest creation for Let's Capture our Memories. For July, I get to use Fancy Pants' Beach Babe line. I absolutely love this line... full of bright fun colors and FABULOUS embellishments!

This is a picture from last year when we took the boat out to Sesuit Harbor to go fishing. Caroline likes to fish, but I think she liked relaxing more! I did some fussy cutting of fish and added some of the die cuts and chipboard pieces.

The sun is from the fun rub on sheet and the clouds were created using MFT's flat bottomed cloud Die namic.

I added some Stickles to the chipboard pieces and the fish on the paper to make them shine a little and some Glossy Accents to the water drops and bubbles. I love how it adds a little dimension.

Finally I stitched some "waves" into the water to add a little something... it was a very fun layout to work with! I'll be back later in the month with some more LCOM layouts using Beach Babe. I hope you're out enjoying good weather and taking plenty of pictures!

What a Week!

I'm back to show the last of my LCOM Layouts using Bella Blvd.'s Tail Waggers and Cat Naps, but first, I had to share what an amazing week I've had! I usually don't enter a lot of layout contests, I kind of go in spurts, if I have something that fits the contest requirements, I'll enter it. This past week, I was surprised to be recognized three times!! First, Echo Park picked one of my layouts to display on their weekly blog post, I Spy Echo Park. Right after that, I got an e-mail from Becky Fleck letting me know that I won the MLS LO Contest on the Page- Maps blog with one of my Tail Wagger Layouts! Finally, yesterday I was roaming blogs and saw that one of my EP Summer Days layouts was chosen as a winner on Echo Park's Facebook Fan Friday Post! I guess when it rains, it pours!

Anyway, back to my final Tail Wagger's LO. This is a picture of my very unstable kitty, Daisy. It's a typical pose for her, she's a bit crazy!

I had a lot of fun with this LO... To add a little "something" to the top corner, I cut a bread tag using MFT's new Die namic.

I stitched a bit crazy... tried to make it look like yarn, not sure if I succeeded, but it added to the crazy feel.

The chipboard pieces from the Tail Waggers' line were fun to work with, and I had to add a couple of Whimsy Buttons!

I finished it off with some twine and rolled flowers made using MFT's Rolled Flower Die namic.

That's it for now, I'll be back next week with a patriotic LO using Bo Bunny's new Liberty Line.

Pay Purr View

I'm back with another Tail Waggers and Cat Naps Layout I did for the Marketing Team over at LCOM.

My two kitties love an open window or door... it gives them a glimpse of all the critters outside! They'll spend hours looking out, talking and twitching!

The clouds and sun are chipboard minis from Maya Road that I painted. I misted the edge of the clouds with Shimmerz Spritz. The little bird is a pin from My Little Bit of Whimsy.

I made the yellow flower using Maya road Pleated Ribbon Trim and a Gluber. The gingham flowers are Maya, and the cute little bumble bee is a Whimsy.

I added some twirly hand stitching and a banner made using MFT's Fishtail Banner Die namic. It was a fun layout to play with!

I'll be back Friday with some more Echo Park Summer Day.

Tail Waggers at LCOM

I'm back with some more Tail Waggers and Cat Naps from Bella Blvd. I'm so happy to get to work with this line for my June LCOM posts! I can finally catch up on scrapping all my kitty pics!
I love these pictures... they are of my Rosie hunting an ant that crawled into the waste basket. She was hysterical... wouldn't stop until she got that ant! I had fun with the chipboard pieces and stickers that come with the Tail Waggers line, and the Cute Cuts sheet had great pictures to cut and add like the paw print.

To finish it all off, I added a cute yellow button from My Little Bit of Whimsy and stitched around the edge and added some ants made from brads.

That's it for today, I'll be back soon with some Echo Park Summer Days and more Tail Waggers from Bella Blvd.!
